Chapter 1605 - 926: Who Is the One I Love? (Double-Length - )
As his words fell, a few people quickly darted out from behind the pillar.
"Yan Xingnong? Qu Yue?"
Qi Bin sized the two of them up, his brows faintly knotting: "You were drinking with her? She’s this drunk and you just let her leave on her own? If something happened, could you live with that for the rest of your lives?"
"Brother Qi, what are you doing here?" Xing Nong hurried forward, smiling as he greeted him.
"Yeah, if we’d known you were here, having dinner together tonight would’ve been great." Qu Yue added. Ever since that day they met on the train, they’d run into each other a few more times afterward—maybe not close friends, but still friends, you could call it that.
"Answer my question first!" Qi Bin was anything but polite with them.
"We sent someone to follow her, planned to see her all the way back. Mainly, when she went out, she really didn’t look that drunk..." Qu Yue spoke as he craned his neck, checking out Tang Luo, who was grinning and flipping him off. "Hey, Sister Tang, when did you sneak more drinks? And you’re controlling it that well?"
"I despise you!" Tang Luo flipped him off again. "You said you’d let me go by myself, but then you send someone to tail me. You don’t trust me. Hmph, I despise you!"
"Where did he tell you to send her?" Qu Yue simply ignored her and looked at Qi Bin.
"She said her driver was waiting outside, but it’s been ages since she came out and we haven’t seen a trace of her driver." Qi Bin shook his head as he spoke. "No idea where she found that driver—his work ethic is terrible."
"She’s this drunk—if she goes back to campus, people are gonna laugh at her." Qu Yue said, then glanced at Xing Nong. "Help her back."
"Tangtang, I’ll sleep with you tonight." Xing Nong hurried up to support Tang Luo, shooting Qi Bin a grateful smile. "Brother Qi, thanks, otherwise Tangtang would’ve totally embarrassed herself."
"No need to thank me." Qi Bin gave a wry smile and pointed at his own lapel. "Looking like this, it’s really not convenient for me to hang out with everyone anymore.
I’m staying here tonight too, so how about this: tomorrow morning at eight?thirty we all grab breakfast together and talk then."
"Hey!" Tang Luo’s big eyes went perfectly round, her face full of anger. "Who gave you the right to decide for me? I’m going back to the dorm!"
"Why do you have to go back to the dorm?" Xing Nong gently patted her. "Don’t tell me you really don’t see us as friends and don’t want to see us?"
"It’s not that..." Tang Luo started sobbing. "If I stay here, I’ll think about how he used to come here to keep me company. The more I think about it, the more it hurts.
I’ve already decided to let go, so please give me time to adjust. Don’t rub salt in my wound, okay?"
"Tangtang, if you really want the wound to heal, running away isn’t the way. If you don’t dare stay here, don’t dare face it, how are you ever going to truly move on?
Besides, given the state you’re in right now, going back to the dorm will only make you the butt of jokes. Be good, stay here, Demon and I will keep you company.
Tangtang, didn’t we agree? We’re going to be friends for life. You can’t ditch everyone halfway and just walk off on your own." Xing Nong said as she dragged Tang Luo back.
"Who’s ditching you? I just need time to adjust..."
"Okay okay okay, I get it, you need time to adjust. We’ll adjust together, we’ll stay with you while you adjust, all right?" Xing Nong, unusually patient, coaxed Tang Luo and hauled her back to the hotel.
Maybe the alcohol was really kicking in—after they got back to the room, it didn’t take long before Tang Luo fell asleep. Xing Nong sighed and dialed Yaoguang’s number: "Demon, I’m not coming over. Tangtang’s in room 2215, come over in a bit, okay? And help me tell Lu Lu to go back on his own." She hung up before the other side could reply.
Qu Yue didn’t go back to the KTV either. He returned to the office and dialed Luo Ye’s number, going over in detail how Tang Luo had run into Qi Bin.
Luo Ye happened to be chatting idly with Ye Xuan, Luo Feng, and Ying Nuo. After hanging up, he thought for a moment and looked at Ye Xuan: "Is there some misunderstanding between you and Qi Bin?"
"No. His dad and stepmother came to Sha City to see Qi Qianqian. He couldn’t just ditch them to come find me." Ye Xuan knew what Luo Ye meant: back then, he and Qi Bin had been tight as brothers; now that Qi Bin had come to Sha City, how could they not get together?
"Ever since Coach Hang left, he seems a lot more withdrawn."
Ye Xuan gave a soft sigh: "His birth mother died early. His dad treated him pretty well, but with work so busy, he often couldn’t be there for him. His stepmother is a mean one, so he truly cherishes anyone who treats him well."
