Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 1637 - 936: Unreasonable and Without Cause

The teacher and the student sat there talking for a while, then the dismissal bell rang, "Teacher, I’ll come back to see you again." Li Xiaoyan quickly got up to say goodbye.

"How many days will you stay at home?" Teacher Qin suddenly realized that after all this conversation, she still didn’t know when the other party was leaving.

"Not sure, I’m back this time for personal matters as well as official business. The exact return date depends on how smoothly the work goes.

If it goes quickly, I might have to leave in two or three days; if it’s slower, maybe six or seven days. But no matter when I go back, I will definitely come to have a meal with you."

Teacher Qin nodded, "Alright, I’ll make beef and celery dumplings for you. Remember, you used to love beef and celery dumplings the most."

"Teacher." Li Xiaoyan hugged Teacher Qin tightly, her voice choked. So many years had passed, yet the teacher still remembered everything about her so clearly.

"Alright, you’re all grown up now, still crying, haha..." Teacher Qin patted her and led her out by the hand.

"Teacher Qin, who is this?" As they took just two steps, a woman in her forties walked in, with short hair and medium build.

"My former student," Teacher Qin explained with a smile, "happened to be home, so she came to see me."

"Oh." The woman’s voice faded, "I saw you hugging so tightly just now, I thought it was your daughter."

Teacher Qin frowned slightly and pulled Li Xiaoyan to walk out, "Let me see you off."

"Teacher, what’s up with that woman?" As they reached the door, Li Xiaoyan couldn’t help but ask her. Unlike Xiao Xian, she wouldn’t rashly confront the other party without knowing the truth.

"Ignore her," Teacher Qin said while tucking her messy hair behind her ear, "Come on, I’ll go with you to see if Xiao Xian has changed."

"Teacher..." Li Xiaoyan called softly, her tone filled with determination.

"You..." Teacher Qin sighed lightly, "Nothing much, the first grade needs a new department head, and both she and I qualify..."

Teacher Qin didn’t continue, and Li Xiaoyan understood, realizing it was just sour arrogance to make others uncomfortable.

"Teacher, you are working so hard."

Teacher Qin nodded, "I know, so I didn’t plan to compete with her. It’s not out of fear, but I know my own health, and if I don’t do well, it might affect the students."

"By the way, Teacher, is the financial director at school really hard to deal with?"

"Why do you ask about him?" Teacher Qin looked at Li Xiaoyan puzzled, "The official business you mentioned, does it have to do with him?"

"No, no..." Li Xiaoyan recounted the situation with Wang Qiayu and the others, finally saying, "I feel that such a financial director doesn’t prioritize students’ futures at all, really, quite unqualified."

After Li Xiaoyan finished, Teacher Qin sighed deeply: "There’s nothing that can be done. Many teachers are dissatisfied with his stinginess, and some even wrote letters to higher-ups, but the result was that the letter-writing teachers got inexplicably punished, while he still stands firm in his position."

"If this continues, the children here will suffer." Li Xiaoyan shook her head, "Sigh, Xiao Xian is right, rather than being a teacher, it’s better to be a businessperson to improve the local economy, maybe that would fundamentally change things."

"It’s useless..." Teacher Qin shook her head and changed the subject, "Xiao Yan, how’s your personal matter going?"

"Teacher, why of all people are you asking me this?" Li Xiaoyan said reluctantly.

"No choice, at your age, it’s hard not to ask this question, take the teacher’s advice, if you meet someone suitable, settle down quickly.

Don’t always think others have better prospects, once the good age passes, it’s really gone, regretting won’t solve anything."

Li Xiaoyan felt moved, did Teacher Qin mean herself when she said that?

"Don’t overthink it, my not getting married has nothing to do with it." Teacher Qin said, knocking on her forehead, "You, after all these years, still wear your heart on your sleeve, it shows you’ve met a good boss."

"Teacher, you really are perceptive." Li Xiaoyan admired as she looked at Teacher Qin, "How did you know at a glance that I met a good boss?"

"If you hadn’t met a good boss, how could you still wear your emotions on your sleeve at your current position?" Teacher Qin laughed, "Do you really think I am so short-sighted just because I’m stuck in this poor school?"
