Rebirth of the Heavenly Empress

Chapter 40

Chapter 40: Get Chi Yue Here

Even before Xie Zhengyuan got to the cafe, he felt very nervous.

It was not his first time thinking about it, but the person he met online seemed familiar. Yet who exactly were they?

He had suspected many people. He even suspected those at the International Association. However, he did not expect that it would actually be—

The Missy of the Su Family!

“You are the user of that international trading account?” Xie Zhengyuan’s pupils constricted, taken aback by the truth. He squeezed the cigarette between his fingers tighter, and he slowly walked towards her while the smoke from his cigarette filled the room.

Su Huiqing pulled the chair and sat down in a very laid back manner.

She placed her hand on the table and leaned against her chair.

She didn’t respond to his question and only pushed her phone towards him.

Xie Zhengyuan lowered his head and immediately recognized the notification on her phone. It was the message which he had sent to ‘A Life Of Overturn’ before he arrived at the cafeteria.

He took a drag of his cigarette and sized up the girl in front of him.

She still gave off that usual casual vibe she had during lessons and her expression was still as indifferent as ever.

However, what made her different at that moment was that she no longer had that mocking smile on her face.

She also seemed to give off a presence that he never felt before. Although she was just sitting there in silence, a gaze of hers was enough to send a chill down his spine.

The Su Huiqing he was facing had completely debunked Xie Zhengyuan’s image of her before.

“Can you stop smoking?” Su Huiqing suddenly asked.

Xie Zhengyuan was still in a daze. “What?”

Su Huiqing did not wish to explain further and instead leaned over, with her hand supporting her weight on the table, to snatch away the cigarette in his hands. After she had extinguished the cigarette, she turned around and said to Yu Xiangyang, “Open the windows.”

Yu Xiangyang finally snapped out of his trance and placed his school bag beside the table before walking towards the window to open it.

The smoke in the room slowly disappeared, and Su Huiqing turned around to face him. “Smoking is prohibited here.”

She then pointed at a ‘No smoking’ sign on the wall.

Xie Zhengyuan came back to his senses and looked at his already extinguished cigarette, seemingly amused by it. He did not even need to doubt if the person in front of him was ‘A Life Of Overturn’ or not. Who would dare to speak in such an overbearing tone other than her?

“You finally snapped back to your senses.” Leaning on her chair, she raised her chin and peacefully said, “There are rumors that the Su Family is about to go bankrupt. What do you think about it?”

Xie Zhengyuan was a little stumped as he did not expect that she would ask him such a question suddenly.

“I am not thoroughly aware of the situation, but if it’s you…” He raised his head to give her a slight smile. “The Su Corporation probably isn’t as bad as how the rumors make it to be.”

After all, a person who invested in stocks wouldn’t be so dumb to allow her family business to go bankrupt.

“Professor Xie.” Su Huiqing suddenly stood up. Despite having the sun rays shining onto her through the window, an icy glint could be seen in her eyes. “I will only say the following words once.”

Xie Zhengyuan pursed his lips and stared at the person in front of him.

The entire suite fell into silence.

Su Huiqing flipped her hair and curled her lips up. Even Yu Xiangyang, who had been standing at a corner this entire time, could see the wickedness in her smile. “Considering how the International Association deported you to Green City, it’s clear that they treated you like a discarded card and would never allow you to return to the association again. But if you join the Su Corporation, I’ll help you stand on the grounds of the International Association again. I will give you three days to consider it.”

With that said, she pushed the chair, took her phone, and walked towards the door without even waiting for Xie Zhengyuan’s reply.

She had just curled her slender fingers around the door handle when a voice drifted into her ear.

“Miss Su, if I may ask.” Xie Zhengyuan maintained a stoic expression and looked at her with a gaze so deep that it could bore a hole through her back. “Do you know Su S?”

Once he mentioned the name ‘Su S,’ Yu Xiangyang immediately raised his head to look at Su Huiqing.

Su Huiqing slightly froze, but she did not turn around to face him. She lowered her head, so no one could see her expression.

“Why would I know…” Su Huiqing turned her head to look at Xie Zhengyuan, her features looking especially beautiful. “Su S?”

She opened the door.

Three figures disappeared from his sight.

Xie Zhengyuan relit a cigarette while his gaze slightly darkened.

She didn’t know her…

She was just seventeen and yet she was so proficient in using Su S’s trading methods. Not to mention that tone of hers…

The way she dealt with the Zhang Corporation was the same way Su S dealt with the finance company in Country R…

How was she not like Su S?!

Thinking until here, he took out his phone and gave Chu Xuning a call. “I want to meet Chi Yue.”

He had only heard of Su S before, so he could not be sure of her personality. But Chi Yue was different. He was her underling, and he probably knew the people that loitered around her the best.

Chu Xuning was feeling rather irritated at the moment. “Aren’t you meeting that Su S person? Why do you need to see Chi Yue now? I am still at the training camp and I still cannot contact the Missy of the Su Family. I have not seen someone more shameless than Young Master Yu before…”

“A Life Of Overturn is Miss Su.” Xie Zhengyuan cut him off.

Chu Xuning froze. “What… did you say?”

“You did not hear it wrong. That person who is very much like Su S is Miss Su. Su Huiqing. That good-for-nothing in everyone’s eyes.” Xie Zhengyuan repeated, “So can I meet Chi Yue now? I need to confirm something.”

Chu Xuning was still at the training camp, and such news had stumped him good. “Su S… Su Huiqing?”

Chu Xuning did not expect that those two names had something to do with each other.

The figure in black beside him froze, too.

“Little Xie, stop joking with me. How could Su Huiqing be?..”

Yu Shijin did not hesitate further and directly walked towards Chu Xuning. He took the phone away from him and put it to his ear with his lips tightly pursed together. “Make yourself clear.”

He turned around and placed the gun on the rack, narrowing his pitch-black eyes.

With the bright sun shining on him, his distinct side-profile appeared colder than usual. He calmly raised his eyes to look ahead.

Unsure of what he had said over the phone, Chu Xuning could only notice that Yu Shijin’s eyes turned colder and deeper as time passed by.

Yu Shijin hung up the call after a while and turned his head to face Chu Xuning. “Pass me the contract.”

Was he planning to find the Su Family for a talk?

Chu Xuning felt a little lost.

“And.” He tossed the phone to Chu Xuning. His slender and masculine figure looked a little lonely and cold under the sun.

He stuffed his hand into his pocket and lowered his eyes. Emphasizing on every word, he said, “Get Chi Yue here.”
