Chapter 75 Part 1

On the day when the preliminary results came out, most of the students in the small black room were in high spirits. The first hurdle of the exam was over.

Although the semi-finals were a lot harder, as long as a student won a spot, even if it was second or third place in the province, they could qualify to enroll in an ordinary Project 211 university or a 985 university. Their future would have more than one path.

Zhang Man was also in a good mood. After dinner with Chen Feier, she went for a walk around the courts that she didn’t go to often before.

She was too busy during this period of time. Sometimes she had no time to have dinner at all and she would only eat bread. She also hasn’t eaten with Chen Feier for a long time.

During summer, the days were long. It was already six o’clock in the evening, but the sky was as bright as day.

Zhang Man and Cheng Feier passed through the rows of evergreen trees and walked on the path paved with stones next to the courts.

As they walked out of the forest, there was a whole row of tall camphor trees in front of them. The camphor leaves color gradually became tender green in early spring.

On the other side of the path, there was a long wooden corridor. On the top of the corridor, there are dense wisterias. The purple flowers dotted the green vines and hung down like a waterfall. The breeze made it float gently and dreamily.

Chen Feier took Zhang Man’s arm, and rubbed her head onto her shoulder. “Man Man, I really envy you. Will I be able to go to college if I take the exam again next month?  You can still be with your dear boyfriend. Wuwu, I have another year to endure.”

Zhang Man pushed her head away and rolled her eyes.

It was really hard for students in high school, and Chen Feier felt really sorry for their homeroom teacher.

She couldn’t stand studying and she spends a lot of time being lazy every day. A few days ago, Zhang Man heard that she brought a mini mahjong set to school to play. She lived a free life.

She stroked her head and said jokingly, “It won’t be easy. There will be another round next, and there will be the final next month. Have you seen how I’ve been tired and thin lately?”

Chen Feier examined her. “Tsk tsk tsk, that’s true, your face seems to be sharp again. Is your precious boyfriend okay? Man Man, you have worked too hard. I called you last night, but it was so late and you were still studying. That’s why I hung up the phone and got scolded by my mother. She told me to learn from you, but she didn’t think it through. Zhang Man didn’t bother to worry about her. This girl’s life was good, she was carefree in a good way.

Zhang Man looked in the direction she was looking at. Sure enough, in the middle of the tall fir trees and on the grass, a slightly chubby girl was curled up with her knees in her arms. Her shoulders kept shaking.
