Chapter 584: Chapter 584: You and She Have a Grudge
In the days that followed, Yunyi continued with her routine of going back and forth between the clinic and her master’s place.
The weather gradually warmed up, and she received the care of her future mother-in-law from Beijing, who sent her two sets of spring clothes, which deeply moved her.
She thought about making some skincare products to send back in return, as reciprocity is always good.
On this day she had a day off, so she thought of going up the mountain.
Just as she reached the mountain’s foot, she felt someone was following her, so she extended her spiritual power to see.
Oh, she didn’t expect it to be Wu Bingjie, who she had almost forgotten, and behind him was an exceedingly ugly man. Their sneaky appearance easily revealed their purpose.
It seems her previous warning was too mild since they still dared to plan against her. Fine, very well.
She calmly quickened her pace, heading straight into the deep forest.
After entering the deep forest, she set up a few small traps and waited for them to fall for it. Fearing they wouldn’t take the bait, she lingered for a while, allowing the two to catch a glimpse of her before leaving.
Wu Bingjie looked at the person in front: "Did you see her? What do you think? Tempted? As long as you do what I say, this little beauty will be yours."
The ugly man’s eyes lit up, but he knew there was no free lunch: "But you also mentioned before, this woman is a doctor, what if she reports me afterwards? Wouldn’t that put me in danger?"
Hiding nearby, Yunyi listened to their conversation and thought: This ugly man isn’t entirely stupid.
Wu Bingjie reassured, "Once you succeed, take her back into the mountains. Who would know you took her? As long as you keep an eye on her, you can do whatever you want."
This statement tempted the ugly man: "But she’s a living person, how could she let us succeed so easily? What if we’re discovered? That would get us killed."
Wu Bingjie felt a bit impatient but continued, "Don’t worry, I found you for this because I have a foolproof plan."
The ugly man looked up at Wu Bingjie: "You have a grudge against her?"
Wu Bingjie nodded his head: "Yes."
He glanced at his own leg, blaming Yunyi for his leg injury: "Give me a straight answer, are you in or out?"
As they chatted, they reached the area where Yunyi had set up the traps. Distracted by conversation, they overlooked their footsteps.
’Whoosh, whoosh,’ went the sound, and with a shout, the ugly man was hoisted upside down first.
Wu Bingjie, sensing something was wrong, backed off, only to fall into the trap as well, ending up hoisted beside him.
The ugly man endured being hung upside down, while Wu Bingjie suffered more. Only one of his legs was caught, making the suspension more painful and forcing him to worry about his other leg’s position, causing him to cry out loud: "Help! Help!"
He didn’t believe this was Yunyi’s doing, assuming someone had set it to catch wild animals, thinking the person must be nearby and would come to their rescue soon upon hearing their cries.
Unfortunately, even when they shouted until their voices were hoarse, nobody came.
Now, they were both panicked, fearing no one would save them, imagining either being eaten by wild animals or ending up as dried human meat, a prospect terrifying enough to elicit more wails echoing through the forest.
Yunyi, however, ignored their cries. Since they dared lay hands on her, they could only blame their own misfortune. After setting up the traps, she erased all traces of her presence.
Whether they survived or not depended entirely on their luck.
