Chapter 1172 The Office Part 2

Chapter 1172  The Office Part 2

Nikkie grinned at Kana's joke. She knew Kana would never revoke anyone's bonus. The two continued with their work until it was time for Nikkie to go home. "Kana, are you staying here again?"

"Mm… so if you can tell my parents I am at your house, that would be great," Kana replied with a small yawn.

"Why don't you just tell them you built up a company?" Nikkie never understood why Kana would not tell her parents. There would be no way they would not be proud of her.

"The same reason I asked you not to say anything. I had to keep this quiet until I turned eighteen. Then, I will hand everything over to them and leave you in charge unless you decide to give up your stake as well. Nikkie, you know my parents picked me up off the street. I was nothing but a street rat. This company is my gift back to them. I am not doing this for the money for myself. I am not doing it to make them proud. I am doing it so that they can live full lives without worries. Without them, I would have died or ended up on a street corner somewhere. Addicted to some kind of drug, using my body to eat and keep up my habit. Life is unfair, you know. Orphans have no means to really get ahead and can only result in stealing or begging for money. "This is also why I spent so much money on building multiple orphanages in hopes that kids will have a chance at a good life. I do not wish for kids to starve. I, more than anyone, know how painful it can be." Kana smiled warmly at Nikkie. "So I will continue all of this and hope my parents will like their gift." "You are really an angel, you know that." Nikkie smiled. She knew Kana was an amazing person, but to build a multi-billion dollar company just to give it away as a gift to her parents. This was truly beyond just some random selfless act. This was showing her love and care for those who have done the same for her. She was basically trying to pay back the two people who saved her life.

"Nikkie, your face looks ugly when you cry." Kana teased.

"You! I was all emotional until you had to go and ruin it!" Nikkie pouted and stomped off to get changed. When she was done, she said goodbye to Kana and headed home.

Kana stretched her arms and dived back into the papers in front of her. She hoped she could come up with some new things to make more money. She wanted to use all her knowledge to innovate what she could in a way that could not be used for war. But enough to allow those who come after to expand and produce newer and better products.

Two years passed, and Kana was now a senior in high school. She sat in class with a pencil in her hand as she stared at the chalkboard. While she did not need to pay attention, she still found it interesting to listen to the lectures from time to time. She still had full rights to teach if she wished, but she hardly did unless the teacher was going to be absent for the day and the principal asked her. Of course, this all came with a bit of monetary gain as well as extra credits towards college.

"Can anyone answer the question?" The teacher looked around the room and saw no one raising their hands, causing her to frown slightly. "You should all know this. We have been going over it for three days now!"

The teacher sighed as she pointed at a random person. "You come up and do the problem. If you can't, just ask me, and I will go over it step by step. It is not embarrassing to not know how to answer anything."

"Teacher, how come you never ask Kana to answer anything?" A student asked. The teacher looked at the student as if he had twenty heads before snorting and saying: "If I asked her to answer the question every time, would any of you learn anything? She is more than qualified to teach the class! If you have time to complain to me about always calling on you all, then you should spend that time studying! If you study, then you could do things like this with ease!"

No one could rebuke the teacher's words since it was correct. The student quietly sat down while the one who was called walked to the board. Sure enough, though the student did not know the answer, after some guidance, they were able to do it with ease.

After class ended, Kana got up from her seat and, with books in hand, began making her way out of the class. Sadly, she was not in Nikkie's class this semester. But before she could exit the room, a boy suddenly stood in front of her. "Yes?" Kana sighed. She already knew what was about to happen.

"Can you spare some time for me?" Kana could tell that the young man was nervous. She sighed and shook her head. "No, sorry. If you are going to ask me out, then I will have to decline now since I have no intention of getting into any kind of relationship. If it is for other reasons, then I am sorry, I do not have time. I am a very busy person."

With that, Kana was pushed by the young man and continued walking out of the classroom. As she left, she heard another boy say: "I told you so! No one has ever melted the ice of the ice queen. She only smiles to her friends and reads books."

Kana chuckled. It was not that she was an ice queen. She just did not want to be asked out all the time because she already had her handsome husband!
