Chapter 14 Common Sense Training Part One
Chapter 14: Common Sense Training Part One
"Ceilie, that's mean. He can't help that all he has going for him is his looks. I mean, everything else about is below average. And I mean everything." The female with the robe wearing a wide brim-pointed hat said with a chuckle. Her eyes landed on a certain part of Ray's body.
"Ahh, that's right, Renne, you actually..." Ceilie stopped her words when she saw Renne begin to wave her staff.
"It was a big mistake that I regret even to this day. Luckily I was able to keep myself intact. Before he could do anything, he had already unloaded." Renne did not mince her words, causing Ray, who they were so openly talking about, to keep lowering his head and grip his heart. He felt like he was being stabbed over and over.
"Guys, enough. Otherwise, I will need to heal him, and then my magic would just get dirty. He is useless in every way possible as it is; I do not want it to transfer to me while I am channeling my healing spell. I mean, you remember when he tried to fight that tri-footed pigeon the other day? Not only was he beaten up by it, but it also got away. I still do not understand what that sword on your back is for? Why would you get into a fist fight with a damn bird? Do you know how disgusted I felt when I had to heal you!? Just thinking about it makes me want to puke." The female in white robes spat on the ground giving Ray a dirty look.
"Is it just me, or is Isabella always the one to finish Ray off. For a priestess, she does not hold back." Renne turned and looked at Ray who was now kneeling. His arms flopped to his sides as his head hung down. He looked as if he had given up on life.
"Alright, girls, we still need Ray to distract all the adds. Even if he isn't able to do much." Thane suddenly chimed in.
"Okay!" "Fine!" "Humph!"
"Then let's head in and begin our quest. We were tasked to find some herbs that only grow in the mid section of the forest. So everyone, keep your wits about you and try to conserve your mana." Thane, the leader of the group, was always business first.
The next day...
"Now, Kana, from now on, you need to be careful about what you do. If you run into a situation like you did with the three eyed horned bear, there is no telling if you will be able to escape as easily as you did. From today on, we will be trying to get you leveled up. You haven't even hit level two yet." Lysairth had decided to be more firm with Kana and pound some common sense into her. She wanted Kana to be able to live a good life. "Now, Kana… What are you doing!?"
"Lysairth, It's attached to my face! It won't come off!" Kana thrashed around on the ground. She had noticed a large pink flower that smelt nice and decided to take a sniff, but before she knew it, the flower had closed its petals on her and wouldn't let go of her head.
"Sigh… Kana, just spit some fire out. It will let go." Lysairth found Kana's curiosity cute, but she was afraid it would also get her killed. "This plant is called a faalomi flower. Its sweet nectar is used to attract birds and other animals over to it so it can then capture them and slowly digest them."
"Gah! So that thing almost ate me. That is scary." Kana shivered at the thought of being slowly digested by a plant. "So, Lysairth, will I be learning how to fight today?"
"Yes, for part of the day, we will work on getting you to level three. You only killed a few monsters yesterday. When you level up, you will gain status points. These points can then be put into strength, intelligence, vitality, mind, and agility. For your first two levels, we will allocate points to your agility only. This will make you faster and dodge quicker. Your base stats for your other stats are already higher than normal. They will be good enough until you hit level 10. So after allocating the first two levels points to agility, you will save the rest for your evolution. Evolution will require certain stats to be at a certain level along with gaining an attribute. But along with your evolution, you will also gain a large increase in all your other stats as well. But remember, if you pick a special evolution, you will have to work extra hard. It is up to you, though, if you want to cast 'cool' spells or not." Lysairth wanted Kana to pick the harder route because it would be more beneficial to her. This was why once again, she brought up Kana's passion for 'cool' spells.
"If working harder means, I can cast cool spells; then I have no problems working harder. It is not like I got anything else to do. What else would I do with my time besides eating and sleeping?" Kana wanted to make the most of her new life, so she wanted to hurry up and get a humanoid form. This way, she could explore more of the world with ease.
"I am glad to hear that, now Kana… Since it is still early and you have yet to eat, let's work on how to catch fish, shall we?"
Once again, at the mention of food, Kana's eyes went wide with anticipation. "Will I really be able to catch a fish?"
"Mhm! Trust me. Just do as I say, and you will be able to catch as many fish as you want."
