Chapter 1836: Chapter 1836: Seems Like It Was All Planned
Previously, when Xu Shifan’s children were sophomores, he suggested they go to the company every Sunday to learn management, so that by the time they graduated, they would be familiar with the company’s business.
Over the years, the company has been growing faster and faster, and he was really very tired doing it all alone; indeed, it was time for someone to share the burden.
So Luo Qiao told her three sons that one of them must work at Yipin, and they should discuss it among themselves. Xiao Rui wanted to join the army, Xiao Ye was only interested in software programming, so Xiao Yu had no choice but to return to Yipin.
Soon, it was the day of Yanyan’s wedding. The newly renovated Jinyuan Garden Main Store posted a notice a week in advance, stating that there was a wedding feast on the sixth of August and it would not be open to the public.
Their marital home was discussed and decided upon when Luo Chen and Yanyan bought it, conveniently close to Yanyan’s workplace. The warmly decorated three-room apartment awaited, as Luo Chen, with the wedding party, set out early.
The night before, Luo Qiao and Lu Yichen tossed and turned, unable to sleep. They worked in the space for half a day until they were so tired they showered and slept.
Before dawn, the alarm rang. They got up to wake Yanyan and Yueyue. As they were almost ready, the makeup artist arrived. After a makeover, there she was—a bright-eyed, charming bride.
Looking at her beautiful daughter, Luo Qiao’s eyes welled with tears. Not wanting her daughter to see, she quickly lowered her head and walked out, only to be spotted by Lu Yichen coming from the front yard.
Lu Yichen drew her back to their bedroom, feeling just as sad, not knowing how to comfort his wife.
Embracing her, he said, "Don’t be sad, I’ll always be with you, and our daughter isn’t marrying far away; she can come back anytime."
Luo Qiao felt she was being sentimental, but she just couldn’t shake the feeling. Although she lived on campus during college, it didn’t feel the same as now.
When the two went out again, the wedding motorcade had arrived. Luo Chen, in a fitting suit, held flowers with a face full of smiles.
Yanyan’s room was blocked by people inside teasing him to say when he had started liking Yanyan. Surprisingly, unabashedly, he admitted, "In the police compound, when we were still children, I already had a crush on Yanyan."
The groomsman beside him jeered, "Seems like it was premeditated."
Then there was singing and poetry recitation. After much effort, he was finally let in, obviously with red envelopes paving the way.
When the door opened, seeing Yanyan in her Xiuhua Costume, hair tied up with specially ordered hairpins, she looked like a lady from a noble house, captivating everyone.
Amid teasing, Luo Chen came back to himself and walked towards Yanyan step by step, "Yanyan, I’ve come to pick you up."
People in the room jeered, "Oh, kiss, kiss!"
Yanyan blushed, Luo Chen was also embarrassed, but everyone kept urging. He handed the bouquet to Yanyan, then cupped her face and gently kissed her forehead, whispering tenderly, "Yanyan, I love you."
And there was another round of teasing.
Luo Chen, holding Yanyan, went to the living room in the backyard to serve tea to the father-in-law and mother-in-law: "Dad, Mom, please have some tea."
Lu Yichen tried hard to control his emotions, but Luo Qiao, being a woman, teared up instantly, though she knew it wouldn’t do to affect her daughter’s mood on her wedding day.
Lu Yichen took the tea, sipped it, and placed it on the table, giving the couple a generous red envelope: "Luo Chen, I entrust Yanyan to you. Treat her well. She grew up cherished in her own home like a pearl; I hope it will be the same at her in-laws’ home."
