Chapter 1023: Chapter 1014: Enthusiastic Classmates

With the entire class’s attention on her, Kang Li showed no particular reaction on her face. Out of courtesy, she flashed a smile, then walked to the back of the classroom and found an empty seat to sit down.

"I recognize her!"

Suddenly, a girl shouted excitedly, "She’s Kang Li! She’s in our class, the national top science scorer with a perfect score, and also an outstanding athlete who won several gold medals for our country in international competitions... I read all about her in the newspapers, and there’s no way I’d mistake her!"

The next moment, students, both boys and girls, gathered around Kang Li’s desk.

"Are you Classmate Kang Li?"

"Yes, I am."

"Are you the top science scorer with a perfect score?"

"Yes."

"Did something at home delay your arrival at school?"

"Yes."

"Classmate Kang, do you need class notes? I can lend them to you."

"Thank you!"

"By the way, Classmate Kang, we’re going to Advanced Math later. Are you going?"

"Sure."

"Classmate Kang, I’ll go save a seat for you right now."

A male classmate said enthusiastically, then grabbed his Advanced Math textbook and walked out of the classroom.

"Classmate, it’s not necessary!"

Kang Li called after him, but it was no use; the classmate had already disappeared out the door.

"Don’t mind him. I bet Li Xuefeng just thinks you’re pretty and wants to pursue you, so he’s eager to help!"

A female classmate chimed in, and before Kang Li could reply, the girl introduced herself, "My name is Wang Pan. Classmate Kang, can I be your friend?"

"Sure."

The classmates were extremely enthusiastic, chatting around Kang Li non-stop. Feeling no malice from them, Kang Li kept smiling,

until it got closer to Advanced Math class time. Wang Pan helped Kang Li pick up her textbook and called the surrounding classmates to disperse so they wouldn’t delay Kang Li from getting to class. That’s when everyone realized,

they also had Advanced Math to attend, so they grabbed their textbooks one by one and followed behind Kang Li and Wang Pan out of the classroom.

Wang Pan, who was slightly chubby, round-faced, and of medium height, was obviously an outgoing and cheerful girl. Like a mother hen guarding her chicks, she walked quickly by Kang Li’s side and escorted her to the big classroom.

"I heard starting today, we’ll have a very young but incredibly talented professor teaching us Advanced Math. Last week, an old professor named Wu was substituting. Kang Li, are you looking forward to meeting the new professor?"

Kang Li was observing the large lecture hall, contemplating which seat to choose. Startled by Wang Pan’s words, she paused and, seeing Wang Pan’s sparkling eyes, involuntarily nodded in agreement.

"Classmate Kang, sit here!"

The one calling Kang Li was Li Xuefeng, sitting in the middle of the second row. Upon seeing Kang Li, he stood up and waved.

"Sitting in the middle is inconvenient."

Wang Pan dismissively rolled her eyes at Li Xuefeng, then said, "Kang Li and I don’t want to sit there!" With that, she tugged Kang Li’s arm and moved toward the back.

Finally, Wang Pan chose two side seats in the sixth row: "How about sitting here?"

Kang Li: "Looks great."

Before the two could sit down, the classmates who came along occupied all the empty seats nearby Kang Li. Seeing this, Kang Li found it amusing, but she didn’t say anything.

The freshmen of this year were highly motivated to study. Even though there were about ten minutes before class started, the spacious classroom was already packed.
