Chapter 1217: A Scary Miss Liana ( 1217 )
Chapter 1217: A Scary Miss Liana ( 1217 )
Kalea stiffened when she noticed Liana’s narrowed eyes.
Crap... I’m sure she’s mad now.
I’m not too scared when she’s with Prince Javier or when Prince Javier is around, but I don’t know what she’ll do if Prince Javier isn’t here.
She swallowed hard, both hands clasped in front of her while her gaze fixed on the floor.
"I’m... sorry... but Miss Myra said it’s important."
Liana, whose eyes were heavy with exhaustion and sleepiness, glanced at her.
"Is something happening to Gracelle?"
Kalea shook her head. "N... no..."
Liana looked at her with confusion.
What’s with her?
Why is she like this?
She looks scared and nervous.
Did someone give her a difficult order or put her under pressure?
And why was I called to the Intensive Care Unit?
She let out a long exhale and glanced at Kalea.
"I’ll be there soon."
Kalea bowed in a rush. "I’ll take my leave now... if you’ll excuse me, Miss Liana." She hurried away as soon as she finished speaking.
Liana kept her eyes on Kalea, who had just left the area in a rush.
I wonder what happened to her?
I guess I should find out if someone gave her a hard time or if something’s troubling her.
She let out a long exhale.
I was about to rest and sleep, but now...
She glanced at Gloria, Felicia, Delya, and Mimi, who were already on the big bed, lying down and ready to sleep.
Gloria glanced from the bed, lying on her side while looking at Liana.
"Liana?" she mumbled softly, her eyes heavy with sleep.
Liana walked toward them and paused, looking at all of them. "You all go rest first. I have somewhere I have to go."
"Nya?" Mimi’s ears perked up. "Where are you going, Big Sis?"
Liana let out a long exhale. "Just to the room next building."
"Did something happen, Big Sis?" Delya glanced at her while hugging her pillow.
"Maybe. That girl didn’t say anything other than Myra requesting my presence."
"I’ll take my leave. Just rest and don’t wait for me." Liana said softly while walking toward the door.
Gloria gave her a hazy smile and hugged her pillow. "Mm... good night, Liana."
Liana gave Gloria a side glare. "Night your ass. It’s morning."
"Mm... but no one said good morning when we’re about to sleep..."
Liana rolled her eyes and grumbled softly, shaking her head before heading out.
Felicia mumbled softly from the bed. "Be careful, Big Sis..."
Liana just smiled faintly while closing the door. "It’s not like I’m going too far..."
She continued walking downstairs and glanced at the Armand maids around.
She narrowed her eyes when she noticed everyone seemed stiff today.
Hmm? I wonder why everyone’s like this today? Weird.
"Good morning." Liana stopped and bowed slightly toward the maids.
The maids smiled and returned her greeting with a bow.
She continued walking toward the main door while eyeing everyone who averted their gaze.
Did I wear something weird?
She stopped in the middle of the hallway, glancing down at her outfit. She smoothed her hands over her clothes, checking for anything out of place, then glanced over her shoulder to see if something was stuck to her back. She patted her butt lightly, touched her ears and hair, and patting her cheeks.
Did Gloria put something on my back?
Or is my hair messy?
She sniffed her sleeve.
I don’t smell.
And the outfit I’m wearing right now is the usual one I always wear.
She checked again, turning slightly in the morning light filtering through the windows.
Mm... I don’t think there’s anything weird about it.
And I don’t see any prank Gloria might have put on me.
But...
She glanced around at the maids again, who were now pretending to be busy.
Why are they all averting their eyes like that?
Liana glanced at one of the maids nearby.
"Umm... excuse me?" she tried to call out gently.
But the maid stiffened, glancing around in panic before blurting out, "Ah! I think I forgot to sweep the room upstairs! Ahhh... Mrs. Erinette is going to be mad if she finds dust on the table!"
She grabbed her broom and rushed toward upstairs while other maids scrambled away, pretending to be busy by dusting shelves, polishing windows, or organizing trays.
Huh? What’s with them? What’s even weirder is she said she was going to sweep the room upstairs but mentioned dust on the table...
Suspicious...
Liana turned her body and checked her outfit once more.
She patted down her clothes from her shoulders to her waist, checking for any odd bumps or tags. She ran her hands through her silver hair, checking for any hidden ribbons or small objects tucked into her strands.
I’m sure Gloria played a prank on me? Did she? Hmm?
After a full, meticulous inspection, she found nothing out of the ordinary.
Strange...
She let out a long, tired exhale before continuing to walk toward the main door.
Maybe I’m just imagining it... or perhaps it’s because I’m sleepy.
She opened the door and stepped out, noticing the two guards outside who were sitting casually guarding the door suddenly standing abruptly.
"Good morning, Miss Liana!" Both of them stood straight, placed their fists over their left chests, and bowed formally.
Huh? What is wrong with everyone today?
She glanced up at Marcor and Garak.
"Umm... Good... morning?" She tilted her head in confusion.
These two rarely showed this kind of formal respect, and yet today they were completely different?
"Have you two eaten your breakfast?" Liana glanced at them and asked softly.
"Y... Yes! We’ve already eaten, Miss Liana!"
Liana shook her head and continued walking.
Today is really weird.
After Liana left, Garak and Marcor slumped their shoulders and exhaled in relief.
"Crap... did you see it?" Garak whispered, wiping his brow.
"Y... yeah," Marcor wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and swallowed hard. "This is my first time seeing her like that."
Garak slowly sat back in his chair while glancing around, making sure Liana wasn’t nearby. "I wonder what made her so serious like that."
Marcor followed suit and sat back down. "Man... I wonder why she suddenly released such a scary aura like that."
Garak glanced around and leaned in, whispering to Marcor again.
"I wonder if someone put her in a bad mood today."
Marcor chuckled. "Maybe Kalea’s the one who made her mood turn sour. You know how she can be annoying."
While inside the building, the Armand maids gathered in a hushed circle, whispering softly.
"This is my first time seeing Miss Liana so... scary," one maid murmured, her hands trembling slightly.
"Did you make her mad?" another whispered sharply, glancing at the maid beside her.
"Huh? No!" she hissed back, her face pale. "I never do anything like that. I always stay out of trouble and follow every rule perfectly."
"If it wasn’t you, then who?"
