Chapter 1355: Two Excited Princesses ( 1355 )
The next day.
Elven Nation.
The Noble Estate.
Celine woke up early, her excitement bubbling over as she quickly washed up and changed, before rushing out of her room while her two escorts scrambling to keep up.
"Princess! Please don’t run in the hallway!"
"But Lyzia said yesterday we were going sightseeing in the market~!" Celine called back, her voice light and excited as she skipped down the corridor.
"Your Highness! It’s still too early! Princess Lyzia might not be awake yet, and the staff are still preparing breakfast for everyone!" Jiowana protested, trying to keep pace.
Celine ignored her, her excitement carrying her forward until she reached Lyzia’s room. Two elven guards stood outside, nodding politely as she approached.
"Good morning, Princess Celine."
Celine’s eyes gleamed with anticipation. "Is Lyzia awake yet?"
The guards exchanged a glance. "We are not certain if Her Highness is awake or still resting, Princess."
Celine’s face fell slightly, disappointment creeping in. But just as she was about to turn away, the door swung open.
"Celine!"
"Lyzia!"
Both princesses beamed at each other, their excitement matching perfectly as they grabbed each other’s hands, bouncing slightly on their heels.
"Celine! You’re finally awake! Are you ready for our sightseeing?" Lyzia asked eagerly.
"Yes! I’m so excited!" Celine replied, her eyes sparkling. "You promised you’d show me everything!"
Lyzia nodded enthusiastically. "I did! And I made sure everything is prepared. We can go now!"
But before they could take a step, a stern voice came from behind them.
"Your Highness."
Both girls turned to see Shaera standing there, her expression calm but firm.
"You should have breakfast first before you go."
"But... Shaera..."
Shaera’s tone remained steady. "Even if you go now, everyone else is just waking up. The escort, High Councillor Nyvorlas, and Warden Faelar are not fully ready yet. Not to mention, the market isn’t even open at this hour."
Lyzia pursed her lips, ready to protest, but Shaera raised a single finger, her smile turning sharp.
"No means no. If you insist on skipping breakfast, I will ensure this is reported to His and Her Majesty."
Lyzia sulked, mumbling under her breath. "I don’t care if they scold me..."
Shaera’s smile turned sweet, but her eyes sharpened as she reached for her mana talkie. "Ara~ Is that so? Then perhaps I should contact the Star Daughter and inform her of how her younger sister is being so... hard-headed this morning."
"E-ehhh!? No!!!" Lyzia rushed forward, grabbing Shaera’s maid dress and looking up with wide, pleading eyes.
"Please don’t tell Liana! I... I’ll eat breakfast! I promise!"
Shaera smiled calmly, her expression softening as she looked at Lyzia. "Now, why don’t you bring our guest to the main dining room? Breakfast will be ready soon."
Lyzia’s shoulders slumped in defeat as she mumbled, "Fine..." She turned and walked back toward Celine, offering a faint smile. "We should go eat breakfast first, Celine."
Celine nodded, her voice light. "Oh... okay."
As they walked together, Celine wrapped her arm around Lyzia’s, leaning in to whisper curiously. "Lyzia... who is the ’Star Daughter’ your maid mentioned earlier?"
Lyzia’s smile brightened, her eyes shining with admiration. "Liana is my sister. The title ’Star Daughter’ was given to her by our aunt, the previous Queen. It’s the highest honor an elven woman can receive."
Celine’s eyes widened in amazement. "Really? I hope I can meet her someday."
Lyzia’s voice dropped to an excited whisper. "Since you’re going to Armand soon, I’m sure you will! She’s the only elf working in the Armand Estate, serving under the Armand royal family."
Celine’s eyes widened further. "Really? But if she’s your sister, doesn’t that make her a princess too? A princess working under the Armand royals..."
Lyzia giggled softly. "We were originally part of the elven nobility before becoming royalty. Our aunt, Queen Mylezra, married the Sovereign of Armand, and after that, our father was appointed as the first Elven King, and our mother became the Queen. Besides... Sis Liana isn’t just working there. She’s betrothed to my brother-in-law, the first in line for the throne of Armand."
"Wow... really?"
"Yes!"
Celine tilted her head, curiosity flickering in her eyes. "Lyzia, if you’re elves, does that mean Armand is also an elven nation?"
Lyzia let out a soft giggle, covering her lips with her knuckle before shaking her head. "No~ Armand is a human nation."
"E... eh?"
"Hmm? Why?"
Celine stammered slightly, her eyes wide. "If they’re human... then how can an elf be betrothed to a human? Isn’t that... unusual?"
Lyzia paused, then laughed softly.
"My uncle, Sythaeryn of the Carqirelle family, married a human years ago, long before I was even born. There’s nothing wrong with it. And my cousin, Gloria, who is half-elf, also works under Armand and is betrothed to my brother-in-law."
Celine blinked, raising a finger as she tried to process the information. "Wait... I’m starting to get confused. This ’brother-in-law’ you keep mentioning... he has more than one future wife?"
"Hmm?" Lyzia tilted her head innocently. "Isn’t that normal for royalty? You’re a princess too, so you must know that, right?"
"Umm... yes, but..." Celine hesitated, her brow furrowing. "This brother-in-law of yours... he’s human, right?"
"And?"
Celine hesitated, her expression thoughtful. "Shouldn’t a human have human fiancées or wives first, especially if they’re royalty or nobility? And besides..." She glanced at Lyzia, her eyes tracing the delicate, otherworldly beauty of her features. "Elves are... well, they’re beautiful. Just by looking at the elven men I’ve seen, like Warden Faelar and High Councillor Nyvorlas, they’re all so handsome. Why would an elf choose a human over her own kind?"
Lyzia tilted her head, a playful smile spreading across her lips. She wiggled her finger as she spoke.
"Hmm~ Well, my brother-in-law is even more handsome than any elf I’ve ever seen. If you saw his face and heard his voice, it could easily melt any girl’s heart. When he visited here last time, there were plenty of elven girls swooning over him. Some even fainted just from hearing him speak!"
"R-really?"
"Yes! I don’t know the full story of why my sister fell in love with him, but maybe it’s his looks, his charm, or his smile... everything about him just draws people in. I asked her once, but she just averted the question and changed the topic." Lyzia paused, her smile widening. "Oh, and did I mention? My brother-in-law also has a Beastkin princess and a Demon princess as his fiancées."
"Ehhhhhhhhhh!?"
