Chapter 1383: Back with Buddy ( 1383 )
Chapter 1383: Back with Buddy ( 1383 )
Javier gave them a smug look, lifting his chin and puffing his chest forward, one hand behind his back and the other resting proudly on his chest.
“And wealth? Heh~ I’m sure you both know I’m richer than my father.”
He began walking back and forth with an exaggerated, self-satisfied stride.
“If you two know about my dimensional storage, then you must know what I have stashed inside. Priceless jewelry, the most expensive ores in the world, rare gems, and a mountains of gold coins. Well… ehehe… not as much as the whole Armand Nation Treasury, but I’m definitely richer than my father’s personal money.”
He paused, tapping his chin.
“Not to mention, I get royalties from all my inventions, my ideas, and everything I’ve created. Even with all the money I spend on Liana, Gloria, Felicia, Mimi, Delya, and Gracelle, plus Buddy’s gluttonous appetite, it wouldn’t even touch a fraction of the wealth I have accumulated in the Armand Bank.”
He smirked, crossing his arms.
“And that’s not even counting what I have stored inside my dimensional storage. Premium wyvern meat? Fresh as the day I hunted it, preserved by the storage’s time-freeze property. I’ve been hunting and stockpiling rare monster meats and premium crafting materials since I was a kid. So no, I don’t need wealth. I already have more than I could ever spend.”
Javier grinned confidently, snapping his fingers.
“Well, I guess I’ve talked too much. If you two don’t have anything else, I think it’s time for me to head back. Buddy’s probably waiting for me, and I really want to see what this rainbow fruit is all about. If it’s tasty and sweet, I’ll find a way to turn it into wine.”
He rubbed his palms together with an exaggerated, mischievous grin.
“Or better yet… hehehe… I’ll find a way to farm it and make it popular, just like cocoa, sugarcane, rice, and soy. Turn it into a cheap, high-quality product that everyone can afford. Small profit per sale, but with high volume and a massive customer base… kekeke~”
Fayrene and Harran exchanged a warm smile before Fayrene spoke softly.
“Before we let you go back, cutie pie… can we at least hug you again?”
Javier tilted his head back, narrowing his eyes at her with suspicion.
“Am I going to end up nearly dead again like last time?”
Fayrene let out a soft, melodic laugh, while Harran pinched the bridge of his nose and exhaled.
“I told you so, Fayrene…”
Javier glanced at Fayrene’s eyes, seeing the genuine warmth and longing in them. He then looked at Harran, who simply sat there with a calm, knowing smile.
“Ugh… fine.”
He walked toward Harran first, letting the man pull him into a brief, firm hug. Javier shifted awkwardly, mumbling under his breath.
“This feels weird… being hugged by a guy…”
Harran laughed softly, patting his back. “If you want, I can transform into a beautiful girl next time.”
“Eww! No way!” Javier pulled back, narrowing his glare at Harran. “Even if you change into a girl, I already know you’re a guy. That’s just creepy.”
Harran chuckled, raising his hands in surrender.
Javier turned to Fayrene, who was already standing with her arms open, a soft, expectant smile on her lips. He hesitated for a moment before stepping forward and letting her wrap her arms around him. She pressed her face gently against his chest, holding him close in a warm, tender embrace.
Javier stood still for a moment, then slowly relaxed, letting out a quiet breath.
Fayrene held him close, her voice soft and muffled against his chest.
“Promise me, cutie pie… you will protect my little sister.”
Javier let out a resigned sigh, his hand coming up to pat her back awkwardly.
“Yes, yes… I promise. Ugh… this is the first time I’ve ever made a serious promise like this.”
Fayrene pulled back gracefully, clasping her hands together in front of her, a warm smile on her lips.
“And don’t tell your mother about our meeting.”
Javier smirked, shaking his head. “No way I’m going to tell her or Father. If they find out about this, they’ll start talking about fate, destiny, how I’m supposed to save the world, and all that nonsense. I’d rather avoid that conversation.”
Fayrene and Harran both chuckled softly, exchanging a knowing glance.
Javier took a few steps back, slipping his hands into his pockets. He glanced at them one last time, a faint smile on his lips.
“It was… interesting meeting you both.”
Harran snapped his fingers, and a soft, glowing magic circle appeared beneath Javier’s feet.
“Take care, little one.”
Fayrene waved gracefully, her smile carrying a hint of teasing mischief.
“Oh, and cutie pie… about your fate to save this world… it’s already been sealed~”
“Giihhh!!!” Javier covered both ears with his palms, glaring at them. “This is why I hate you both! Ugh!”
The magic circle flared, and in a flash of light, He vanished, leaving only the soft echo of his protests behind.
Javier’s eyes snapped open, and he found himself lying on the soft forest floor, staring up at Buddy, who was standing over him with a dumb, unimpressed look, his head tilted slightly.
“Cuquawked~” (What happened, master~?)
Javier groaned, sitting up and rubbing his head before narrowing his eyes and pointing accusingly at Buddy.
“Ugh… Buddy! Next time, be more careful! I’m sure you did that on purpose!”
“Cuquawked~” (Don’t know what you’re talking about~)
Javier slowly stood up, dusting off his pants before placing both hands on his hips and glancing up at the pekko.
“So… where’s this rainbow fruit you were talking about?”
Buddy let out a mocking squawk, bobbing his head.
“Cuquawked!” (How am I supposed to show you when you fell like a rotten jackfruit hitting that tree trunk? You were out cold for a while, master. I thought you finally broke that thick skull of yours.)
Javier pointed a finger at Buddy, the other hand planted firmly on his hip.
“It was just a few seconds! Don’t make it sound like I was out for hours!”
Buddy let out a series of smug, mocking squawks, bobbing his head.
“Cuquawked~ Cuquawked~” (Tomato, potato, same thing. A few seconds is still a few seconds. The great, genius ‘inventor’ passed out from hitting a tree trunk. What a legend~)
“Ugh! So annoying!” Javier shook his head, climbing onto Buddy’s back. “Don’t even think about doing that again on purpose.”
“Cuquawked~” (Yes, yes~)
Buddy let out a smug smirk, before suddenly bolting forward at full speed. Without warning, he ducked under a low-hanging branch, and Javier’s forehead smacked into the trunk with a loud thud.
“Ouch!”
Buddy let out a series of sharp, seagull-like laughs, his entire body shaking with glee as Javier groaned, clutching his head.
“Cuquawked! Cuquawked! Cuquawked!” (Got you again! Hahaha! The genius inventor, outsmarted by a tree trunk twice in one day!)
Before he could retort, Buddy suddenly let out an eager squawk and bolted forward at full speed, weaving through the trees with practiced ease, heading straight toward the hidden location of the rainbow fruit.
Javier grin widen as the wind rushed past him.
This is the kind of life I want. Simple, fun, and full of laughter. Playing around with a gluttonous pekko, exploring the forest, and just enjoying the freedom of being alive.
