Chapter 1560: Not Their Full Power ( 1560 )
Chapter 1560: Not Their Full Power ( 1560 )
Garius stood on the other side of the field, arms crossed, a faint smirk playing at his lips as he watched his sons activate their magic. His right eye began to glow, a soft, golden light radiating from his iris.
"My sons~"
His voice carried across the field, calm and regal, noble and measured.
"Remember the Seven Sins. Remember what you faced. Marcellus. Cedric. You encountered Wrexa, the Sin of Wrath. You felt her fury, her rage, her unrelenting violence. And you survived."
His gaze shifted.
"Javier. You encountered Erebra, the Sin of Envy. You faced her mimicry, her jealousy, her desperate need to become what she is not. And you destroyed her. You also encountered Gioni, the Sin of Gluttony. You witnessed his insatiable hunger, his endless appetite, his monstrous form. And you ended him."
He paused, letting the weight of his words settle.
"But remember this. What you faced... was not their full power. What you encountered were fragments. Echoes. Shadows of what they truly are. Their master, The Banished, has not yet allowed them to reach their full potential. The time has not yet come for them to unleash their true strength. So do not think that what you faced was the worst they can offer. Do not become complacent. Do not believe you have already won."
His eyes narrowed, his aura beginning to flare.
"Today, I will use my power to match the Seven Sins. Not their fragments. Not their echoes. But the power they will one day wield. I will push you. I will test you. I will show you what you will face when the time comes."
His aura flared brighter, a golden light radiating from his body.
"We start at five percent. This is Wrexa’s power."
He uncrossed his arms, his stance shifting into something calm and ready. His voice dropped into something deeper, more commanding.
"Come, my sons. Show me your resolve. Show me your strength. Show me that you are ready for what is to come."
Fransesca’s eyes turned serious the moment Garius mentioned the Banished. Her posture remained graceful, her back leaning calmly against the cushioned lounge, a teacup resting in her hand. But a subtle aura radiated from her body, a soft, divine pressure that made the maids nearest to her pause. None of them could place the feeling, only that the air around her had grown heavier, more still.
Javier and his brothers narrowed their eyes on the field.
"The Banished?" Heres tilted his head in confusion, a foldable fan held loosely in one hand.
"Hmm... that’s the first time I’ve heard that name." Aelius nudged his glasses up, the gold coin between his fingers flaring bright with golden light.
"This means Father knows who their master is." Cedric’s holy aura flared around him, white and radiant, his grip tightening on the wooden sword planted in the ground.
"I bet it’s not the same person I sensed before." Javier’s voice was quiet, his eyes fixed on his father.
Marcellus smirked, stepping forward into his stance. One palm hung low at his side, the other opened upward, his mana coiling around him in slow, deliberate spirals.
"So that means the bitch we burned with white flame wasn’t at her full power? Interesting~" He tilted his head slightly, his smirk widening. "So that means Father’s current power is matching her potential? Her future strength? The strength she’ll one day have when her master finally lets her off the leash?"
He rolled his shoulders once, stance steady, eyes sharp. The air around him began to shift, his mana coiling tighter, denser, until it hummed with quiet, dangerous pressure.
"Then let’s see if the full power of that being, the one she’ll become when her master finally unleashes her, is enough to handle a portion of my real power. Because I, for one, am tired of holding back."
Marcellus planted his feet, his smirk sharpening into something colder, more focused. The playful gleam in his eyes vanished, replaced by the sharp, calculating gaze of a predator. His mana flared once, bright and violent, before he vanished from his spot.
He reappeared directly above Garius, both palms aimed downward.
"Sorry, Father. But I won’t hold back just because you’re using five percent of your power."
Garius remained where he stood, both hands resting on his hips, a confident smirk on his lips. He shifted his shoulders slightly, his chest muscles flexing in a slow, deliberate display of his physique, his posture radiating pure, unbeatable confidence.
"Oh~? You think you can take this ’old man’ here~?"
A massive burst of white flame erupted from Marcellus’s palm, a searing explosion that engulfed Garius entirely. The flames roared outward, spreading across the field in a blinding cascade of heat and light. Before the fire even began to fade, Marcellus twisted mid-air, and hundreds of magic circles bloomed around Garius in every direction.
The air shimmered as countless spells activated in perfect sequence. Torrents of water spiraled from one circle, compressed wind blades shot from another, earthen spikes erupted from the ground, lightning arced from above, fireballs rained from every angle, and beams of pure mana streaked toward the target.
Garius’s voice came from within the attacks, calm and regal.
"Hmm... not bad. My eldest son is able to surpass Wrexa’s power... no~ not just Wrexa. Gioni. Erebra. And maybe Gryre... ah... I mean... Greed~"
Marcellus’s jaw tightened. He landed hard, his feet slamming into the ground with enough force to send a shockwave rippling outward. Ten massive sand golems materialized from the earth around him, rising from the ground in a slow, grinding motion. Sand hardened into gleaming, solid stone, their bodies towering and heavy, their eyes glowing with faint runes.
They charged toward Garius, their heavy footsteps shaking the field. Garius, still surrounded by the remnants of Marcellus’s elemental assault, let out a mock chuckle.
"No golems. No summons."
The moment the words left his lips, every single golem crumbled. Their bodies dissolved back into sand, collapsing into formless piles on the field, as if they had never existed at all.
Garius remained standing, his smirk still in place.
"Next?"
