Chapter 1331: Offering fealty
Chapter 1331: Offering fealty
Every single person watching this scene was filled with awe and wonder, as if they were witnessing a miracle themselves. However, perhaps only a few of them truly understood what it was they were looking at.
It was the awakening of a person’s talent. But not just any person, a demi-human, which had long been thought to have been impossible.
Yes, Michael and the Rebornians had proven it possible just mere months ago. However, most if not all, thought that they had done this through the mediation of a priest. Someone who was able to tap into the very power of the Goddess herself and ask for her blessing in awakening that demi-human’s talent.
But right now, they were seeing the very moment of that miracle. And as it turned out, the very reason for this unnatural awakening was none other than the very leader of Reborn himself, Michael.
That young, golden-haired boy. The youngest Nascent Spirit cultivator. Owner of one of the most successful start-up companies in the world. The creator of the automobile. The smart phone. And every other invention in the world that seemed to change the very paradigm of science and reality itself.
That young man.
And right now, both Levi Vanderbilt and Theresa Goldstone realized something.
Michael had a Supreme Talent.
That was the only reason for all of this to make sense. After all, only those with a Supreme Talent could cause an awakening within other people.
That’s what happened with the Ocean King, who bequeathed the Mermen and Mermaids with the power to rule the oceans and the seven seas.
That’s what happened with the Draconian Queen, who elevated their race into the most powerful of all that lived in this very Earth.
That’s what happened with the Demon Queen, allowing for her to take control of the demonic continent and rule without any other comparison.
They all awakened talent within their own race, allowing for them to become stronger.
Humans never had that. They always had to use the intervention of the priests in order to ask for the goddess’ blessings.
And this would continue to be so unless... unless someone awakened a Supreme Talent amongst their race.
Michael was that very person, they realized. And now, things were finally starting to click into place. His immense talent. His unparalleled genius. His seemingly uncontested path towards ruling the entire Royal Continent.
It was because he had the possibility of becoming a Supreme Being!
Levi and Theresa both looked at each other. Any animosity or bad blood between them were immediately squashed at this moment. They knew that in the face of someone like Michael, anything they did would only result in their demise.
They knew it before this entire thing even happened. The fact that Michael was the only one who was able to essentially breach through the demi-human kingdom and conquer it, spoke to the kind of power this young man held.
They wouldn’t even be alive if he weren’t for him.
They were still shaken from that experience. Still, in shock and in awe.
Whatever those metallic, flying objects were... they were Michael’s very own weapon. Numerous. Powerful. And invisible. It was an entire army all on their own, one that could decimate other armies without even breaking a sweat, or even being detected before they made an attack.
And somehow, he could control these objects even from far away. Such possible use of those weapons sent a shiver in both Levi and Theresa’s body.
If he so wanted to, he could have decimated both their armies without even showing himself. He could have done it. But he didn’t. And they were all the more thankful that Michael wasn’t a tyrannical despot.
Meanwhile, Loren slowly found himself upright, with something within his body helping him to stand.
That warmth in his chest. It was somehow heating the Artifice into its melting point.
This cold, black, crystalline object that was supposed to be the very essence of the insidiousness of the Ersatz organization...
It was now being changed whether it liked to or not.
Loren’s body, empowered by the golden aura from Michael, started to grow veins that started to encircle the Artifice in the Red Mankey’s heart.
These veins, muscles, and flesh began to burrow itself towards the artifice, creating a ventricle and a chamber inside.
It wasn’t long before the Artifice turned into a heart.
All of the functions of a heart, distributing blood, empowering a person’s soul, was now being done through the Artifice.
The Artifice should have replaced the heart. But now, the heart replaced the Artifice.
Loren’s body adapted to the Artifice. Simple as that. This was the power of Michael’s Nascent Influence, allowing even the worst of situations to become advantageous for those who were lucky enough to be included in his aura.
With warm blood now spreading through his body, Loren started to regain his very soul. The worm in his heart, the seed of brainwash that the Ersatz assassin left on him, suddenly shivered as the golden aura bore down on it.
And just like with the heart, Loren’s mind started to invade that very worm, changing its very structure from something destructive, to something creative.
Once the transformation had been complete, Loren’s entire body glowed golden, blinding anyone who looked towards him.
And a few seconds later, the light subsided.
Now, a new figure stood in front of everyone. A slim, young man. With red hair, and red sideburns that made him look like a certain monkey king.
He had achieved a new evolutionary path for the Red Mankeys.
He had become a Mankey Monarch!
Loren looked at his own hands. The red fur at the back of his hands shivered from the power he felt from his own form.
And his mind. It had been a lot clearer than it was before. Sharper. It was as if he could see and process everything in his surroundings as if it was in slow motion.
Then, he looked towards the golden-haired young man. The very person who had bestowed this power upon him.
And immediately, he felt a sense of awe at this character.
He kneeled and offered his fealty.
