Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family

Chapter 1370: Bloodlust

Chapter 1370: Bloodlust

"What is the Reborn company doing?! Draco is a savage Nascent Spirit cultivator. If they have any chance of defeating them, then it’s through numbers!"

"I don’t understand why they’re bringing musicians instead of more soldiers. At the very least, bring archers to fight Draco from afar!"

"Right? That guy is absolutely brutal in close-quarter combat. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him lose when he’s allowed to approach his opponent without any obstacles."

The spectators around the Chasm were of the opinion that the Reborn company had become too overconfident of themselves.

They actually brought musicians for a premature celebration! Were they really that confident about themselves, or were they simply ignorant of their opponent?

One such spectator was a man who was wearing a robe that obscured his entire fact.

In fact, it wasn’t even his face that was obscured. It was his entire presence! Even though he was standing in the middle of a crowd, they just passed through him as if he wasn’t even there in the first place. It was as if he was in a completely different plane of existence entirely.

This person was a Mystic Master! One that has been brought out of hiding thanks to the rumors that Michael purposefully spread around the Chasm.

"Hmmm," the mysterious figure muttered under his breath. "What a peculiar strategy. I don’t think they’re going to win..."

Like the others, he didn’t believe Reborn would win.

And in truth, it didn’t matter to him. Instead, his focus went towards the other side of the camp, towards the soldiers wearing blood red armor looking like they were straight from hell itself.

His eyes glimmered for a second as he searched around them.

And then, he saw it.

A soldier, holding with him a large chest made out of wood and lined with gold itself.

This soldier walked towards the Rebornian side and presented the chest towards Michael, the leader of Reborn.

Michael peered towards the inside of the chest and saw an item that looked to be a large bone from a prehistoric beast.

It was the Antique!

"The Antique...," the mysterious figure muttered. "So it’s true..."

...

...

...

Meanwhile, Michael looked at the chest and confirmed the veracity of their claim.

It really was the Antique.

"Where did you get this?" Michael asked.

Draco, donning his blood armor, looked like he grew at least two inches taller. The spikes spread around the surface of his chestplate looked like they could pierce through anything that was unfortunate enough to touch it.

And for a second, they moved towards Michael, as if they were hungry animals looking to drink his blood.

"Those blacksmiths from the Hepheasteus Conglomerate had it," Draco said, shrugging as he said so.

"And you’re not worried about stealing it?"

"Who cares?" Draco replied. "The one who had the Antique wasn’t even considered an heir. He’s like the 57th in line. No one would extend a hand to help him.

In fact, there may even be some of them who helped me get through their defenses to start a siege..."

Michael narrowed his eyes at Draco. It seemed that this youngster wasn’t as brash as he seemed. He was strategic, using the natural rivalry between successors to his advantage.

"Anyway, that’s what you wanted, right? Aren’t you happy? Come on! Let’s get the battle going!"

Michael took a deep breath and nodded. "You’re right. There’s no need to delay this any longer."

He closed his eyes and let his Nascent Core rumble like an engine. Then, golden nanoparticles emerged out of nowhere before encircling his entire body.

They began to coalesce, forming into a set of armor that made Michael look like he was a knight sent by the Sun itself! His goldenness was only exacerbated by the light shining behind him.

"Hohohoho! What magnificent Nascent Armor. I can’t wait to destroy it," said Draco.

Michael then turned towards Yuna. She looked at him with concern. Even though she was the one who had negotiated this Sanctum Duel, she was still worried about the outcome of the fight.

"Don’t get hurt," she said to him.

In turn, he smiled at her. "I won’t."

She nodded before using her unique Montgomery power to summon a power that was beyond anything that this world could explain.

In the flat plains, a new portal emerged. Beyond it, an entirely fabricated world laid inside.

Their Sanctum Duel was arranged to be a dark forest with an eternal fog obscuring all sorts of vision around it.

It was a grim battlefield, one which looked like there would be horrors waiting inside.

Draco looked towards Michael and licked his lips. "I’ll be waiting for you," he said, before donning his helmet and jumping straight into the Sanctum. His soldiers followed suit, unperturbed by the dark world ahead.

Meanwhile, Michael looked at his soldiers. In contrast to their opponents, the Rebornians looked like they were at ease about the battle that was about to commence. They had absolute confidence in themselves, and ultimately, in him.

He nodded at them. No words were needed for this.

Then, he raised his helmet to don it and surge forth into the battlefield.

Yuna grabbed him by the neck and turned his head to face her.

Before he even realized what was happening, he felt her lips touch his as they kissed deeply.

Michael’s eyes were completely wide, unable to understand what was happening. Was this real? Was this a dream?

And a few moments later, Yuna retreated, her cheeks red and her breath smoky.

"Good luck," she said to him.

Michael was at a loss for words. There wasn’t anything he wanted to do but just stay here and relive that kiss with Yuna.

In fact, he wanted to just ignore everything and go back to her.

However, the Rebornian soldiers around Michael started to jump into the Sanctum ahead of him. He let them and simply looked towards Yuna longingly.

But then, Jaku grabbed him by the neck and dragged him towards the Sanctum. "If I can’t skip out of this, then you definitely can’t."

They both fell to the Sanctum, with Michael raising his hands as he looked up at Yuna’s fading figure.
