Chapter 1428: Reality-altering battles

During the first lap, the Goldstone ship car let others pass by it. But that was because they had been busy with setting up their traps.

The Goldstones specialized in real estate. Their unique Nascent Influence allowed them to create a powerful territory in any location. Something that would allow them to have an advantage over the other cars.

"Wow... the Goldstones aren’t kidding around this time."

"No one can move fast in that muddy water. The ship automobile is going for first!"

With everyone else mired by the sudden downpour of water, the Goldstone car was free to cruise to first place. Not only that, but the driver was able to make a substantial gap between him and 2nd place, allowing him to become so much more secured in their victory.

But it was at this moment that Erich screamed from beyond his garage.

"Use the pills!" he shouted.

Immediately, the driver inside the monster truck cracked the glass vial in his hands. Inside it was a strange violet liquid that shimmered like it was made out of starlight itself.

He downed everything, glass shards included.

As soon as that strange liquid entered his body, the driver suddenly convulsed as if he was having some kind of stroke.

But that only lasted for a few moments. After that, his body began to exhibit a great explosive strength. The Nascent Spirit power emanating from his body immediately began to rise to new heights!

His cultivation, which was in the 3rd stage, had suddenly leaped to the 4th stage in one go!

This sudden increase in Spirit had allowed the driver to empower his own Nascent Influence. And with this new power, the Monster truck seemed to gain a kind of sentience that made it seem like the grills on its front were curving up into a sinister smile!

It opened up its ’mouth’ devouring the muddy water as if it was liquid food. Then, its engine revved. It resembled the sounds of a stomach gurgling as it consumed a lot of food.

Suddenly, the monster truck gained even more power. Smoke and fire billowed out from the exhausts around its frame.

And with this sudden burst, the monster truck plowed through the muddy waters with ease. It didn’t care that it was being mired down by mud. It monstrously trudged its way and ate everything in its path.

The muddy water became nourishment for the monster car.

Its large frame became even larger. Its weight doubled in force until even the muddy waters were crushed under its wheels.

Then, finally, it broke through the Goldstones’ Nascent Influence.

With nothing dragging it down, the Monster truck car sped on forwards in an attempt to overtake the current first place.

The Ship car released a wave of water from its exhaust pipe. But even those were destroyed by the monster truck’s steel wheels.

"HAHAHAHA! You guys weren’t lying!" Erich said as he peeked onto the VIP area. There, the Sinclair’s Elixir heirs sat with a satisfied expression on their faces.

"Woah! Look at that!"

Suddenly, everyone looked at the television screen as the camera focused on a new challenger.

A car made out of flames. Its billowing fire left a trail of flames behind. And its speed was nothing to scoff at either.

"Woah! That’s the Vanderbilts’ car!"

"It’s leaving behind everyone in the dust!"

Meanwhile, in the Vanderbilt garage, Jobe looked at their car and nodded with satisfaction. Speed was his speciality. In terms of acceleration, there was nothing that was going to stop him from reaching the first place.

Their slowest speed was at the start of the race. Back then, they were slower than everyone else.

But with Jobe’s Nascent Influence, he was able to completely get rid of their car’s limitation on reality.

Their flaming car continued to accelerate.

Nothing could stop it. It would gain speed the longer the race went on. Even the muddy waters from the Goldstones’ traps could stop it from continuing to build up speed.

"My victory is secured," Jobe muttered under his breath.

Now that their car had enough speed, they’d eventually reach first place and keep themselves at the front of the pack. And the gap between their car and the others would continue to grow.

The Monster truck revved its engines like a beast growling. It swerved to the right, intending to push the flaming car out of the way.

But it was ineffective. The flaming car sped forwards in a straight line, unaffected by the monster truck’s enormous wheels.

The monster truck almost toppled over from the failed attack!

"Damn it!" Erich cursed.

The Ship car revealed a cannon on its window, before firing a ball towards the flaming car.

It crashed on the flaming car’s side, before deflecting upwards.

It was at this point that the flaming car overtook the two cars and finally took first place.

The ship and monster car tried to attack it again, but the flaming car kept getting farther and farther away.

"The Vanderbilts are going to win the race!"

"Yeah. I expected no less. They’re the first-ranked Conglomerate for a reason!"

"Jobe’s showing why he deserves to be the heir of the Vanderbilt estate."

It truly seemed as if this race was guaranteed for Jobe and his driver. The laps passed by. Ten. twenty. And even still, the flaming car kept its lead. No one could even come close to it.

"If I can’t have first place, then I have to make sure my sister doesn’t get second," Erich demanded.

"Don’t let the Hephaestus heirs get ahead. Use our cannons! Strengthen our muddy water traps!" said someone from the Goldstone camp.

"We still have our webs," said Euthenia. "Our spider car can still get second place as long as we use our resources wisely."

The Conglomerates battled for 2nd to 4th place, so most of the audience’s focus was on them.

Meanwhile, the 5th place to 20th place were mostly ignored. So, many didn’t notice a certain car slowly going up the ranks one by one.
