Chapter 249: Rock-Paper-Scissors Tournament!
Chapter 249: Rock-Paper-Scissors Tournament!
"I’m tired..." Amber said as she climbed the stairs to the roof, each step feeling like a personal insult to her dignity.
She had to pay for a room closer to the top floor since Selene had rented out her entire top floor for the others, deliberately excluding Amber from the group.
Then from there, she had to take the elevator and when she finally got to the top floor to keep an eye on Lucius like her father had instructed, the maids sent her down again because she apparently didn’t have the Keycard that was used to access the roof.
The security was ridiculous... Like they were protecting nuclear launch codes instead of a rooftop pool.
The room she had paid a week for cost 124,000 royals for that whole week... coming with her own personal maids though she couldn’t do anything inappropriate with them, and a lot of luxury amenities including a private bath and premium room service.
She didn’t have much of a problem with that expense itself.
What she had a problem with was that the Rooftop keycard cost a whole 300,000 royals just for access.
She had nearly spent half a million royals just on her first day here, and that was without food, drinks, or any other services.
’How much does that bitch make on average...?’ She thought with a mixture of envy and resentment.
The hotel was nearly full according to what she’d seen in the lobby, after all.
With prices like these, Selene might as well be raking in hundreds of millions of royals annually. Maybe even billions if all five Moon Hotels operated at similar capacity.
She reached the rooftop door and swiped the absurdly expensive keycard on the reader. It beeped green, and the door opened with a satisfying click.
As she entered, taking her first step onto the rooftop surface, a blast of water suddenly hit her directly in the face with tremendous force.
The impact sent her stumbling backward, arms windmilling uselessly, and she tumbled down the entire flight of stairs she’d just climbed. Her body bounced painfully off each step with wet thuds until she landed in a heap at the bottom.
"Owww..." she groaned, lying there in a puddle of water and self-pity.
...
The water fight ended shortly after that final stray blast, everyone was exhausted and laughing.
Lucius was now stretching his legs comfortably on his lounge chair, and a maid stood attentively next to him.
She was holding a small ceramic bowl with different kinds of grilled meat in it, each piece perfectly seasoned and still steaming. The smell was incredible, making his mouth water.
"Master... I hope you enjoy—"
Just then, Emilia ran out of the pool at full speed, water streaming off her body, and deliberately barged into the maid shoulder-first.
The maid stumbled backward with a surprised yelp, losing her balance as Emilia snagged the bowl from her hands mid-fall with practiced ease.
She caught it without spilling a single piece.
"I’ll handle feeding..." Emilia announced possessively, shooting the maid a look that clearly said ’back off.’
Then she glanced at the maid as she tried to stand back up from being barged into.
As she did, her chest jiggled noticeably with the movement, and as Emilia saw how big those breasts were, she was visibly tempted.
Her eyes locked onto the generous curves, and her hands actually twitched toward them. She wanted to let go of the plate and just go over there and grope them shamelessly.
However, Lucius gave her a sharp look, and her eyes snapped back to him immediately like a dog being called to heel.
"So-sorry..." she stammered, clutching the bowl tighter.
"Keep your eyes to yourself, pervert." He said flatly, though there was amusement in his voice. "Aren’t you going to feed me...?"
She nodded quickly and used the toothpick that was holding the first slice of meat to bring it close to his mouth.
He opened and chewed, savoring the flavor of perfectly grilled beef with some kind of herb butter.
Just then his phone began ringing with the distinctive tone he’d set for important calls.
"I guess it’s someone I know." He muttered without looking at the screen, still chewing.
Luna had set his phone settings in a way that made sure he could only receive calls from people that he was following on social media or had saved in his contacts.
Everyone else went straight to voicemail, preventing random fans or business solicitations from bothering him.
He answered the call and held it to his ear. "Hello?"
A familiar voice came through immediately. "Switch on your Location, Darling~"
Elena. His sister’s voice was unmistakable, that particular mix of affection and command that only she could pull off.
"Huh? Elena... it’s been a while sis." Lucius said dismissively as he continued chewing on the meat, gesturing for Emilia to prepare the next piece. "Did you miss me?"
"Yes." She said simply, without hesitation or embarrassment. "But apparently, after doing your own sister until she couldn’t feel her own legs... you didn’t even call her after that. Where’s my aftercare?"
Lucius nearly choked on the meat.
’After... what?’ He blinked rapidly, trying to process what she’d just said so casually.
Meanwhile, Emilia’s eyes widened comically, her jaw dropping open as she processed Elena’s words from where she stood close enough to overhear.
’Lucius had sex with his sister...?’ Emilia thought, and a progressively more lewd smile spread across her face with each passing second. ’They don’t have the same hair color so I think she’s adopted... but what if she isn’t? Personally, I think it’s hotter if it’s incest.’
Her imagination was clearly running wild with increasingly inappropriate scenarios.
"Uhh... what’s that?" Lucius asked, genuinely confused about this ’aftercare’ concept.
"It’s the... Whatever, I took a vacation from work just like you and I want to join up, so turn on your location so I can trace you." She said from the other side, changing topics with surprising speed.
She sounded impatient now, probably already moving.
"Do I need to...? We’re in New Avalon city, and I think it was Moon Hotel Number 5." Lucius replied easily, seeing no reason to be cagey about his location.
There was a pause on the other end. "I didn’t think it would be this easy to get your location..."
She sounded almost disappointed that he’d given it up so readily, like she’d been prepared for a longer negotiation.
"Whatever, I’ll call you when I get there." She continued, then her voice turned very soft and intimate, dropping to almost a purr. "You owe me... 2... no, 6 rounds of sex."
And without waiting for him to answer or object, she cut off the call abruptly, leaving Lucius looking at his phone with a small sigh.
’I hope this doesn’t affect my vacation though.’ He thought, already knowing it absolutely would.
Elena was a force of nature, and her arrival would definitely change the dynamic of their group.
Then he stretched and looked at Emilia, who still had that disturbingly lewd smile plastered across her face.
"Get your head out of the damn gutter." He said tiredly. "It’s not what you think."
"I think it’s exactly what I think hehhehehehehe~" She giggled with a sound that was frankly concerning.
He bonked her on the head with his knuckles, and she yelped in pain before continuing to feed him, still grinning.
Selene, who was floating lazily in the pool with the others nearby, suddenly got an idea. Her eyes lit up with inspiration.
"Everyone! How about we use Rock-Paper-Scissors to decide the events?!" Selene asked loudly, getting everyone’s attention.
The girls stopped their various activities and looked at her with interest.
She smiled confidently, treading water. "I’m guessing everyone has a different place where they want to go to on this vacation, right? So let’s use rock-paper-scissors to decide it completely... The winner gets to choose where we go, and the rest of us have to agree."
It was actually a fair system, removing the need for endless debate and hurt feelings.
All of the girls agreed enthusiastically, even Emilia who placed the plate of meat in Lucius’s hand and jumped back into the water with a splash.
"I agree! Let’s do it!" Emilia said excitedly.
Selene counted them mentally, pointing at each person. "There’s currently me, Vanessa, Luna, Villy, Elara, Emilia and Minerva which is a total of seven. We’re not even... Lucius, don’t you want to join in?"
"I don’t have any specific places I want to visit. I’m fine with lazing around." He said honestly, popping another piece of meat into his mouth.
They all looked at him weirdly, like he’d just said something incomprehensible.
"Lazy man." Emilia chimed in teasingly, only to get flicked on the forehead with a precisely controlled spatial distortion that made her yelp and clutch her head.
Just then, Amber climbed the stairs again for the second time, her hair completely soaked and plastered to her face.
She was wearing a swimsuit that covered everything possible, conservative to the point of being almost comical.
It was like the full-body ones that children wore to avoid sunburn, covering her from neck to knees.
"Haahh... I will join." She said breathlessly as she entered the water with the girls, looking exhausted but determined. "And I’ll ensure all of us wear disguises before going to where I want... The Loosebelt Auction House."
"Boring." Selene and the girls chimed in unison, their voices overlapping perfectly.
The synchronization made Amber puff her cheeks out indignantly, looking like an angry chipmunk.
"How can a place where they sell quality items for ranking up and gear that you would never see on any other side of the world be bori—"
"Whatever." Selene interrupted dismissively, waving her hand. "We’ll split ourselves into two across the pool. It will be one round per group and if you’re a winner... you face off against another winner. Since we’re eight now... we will host a small tournament."
She was basically proposing a bracket system, like a sports competition.
"Fine." Amber said grudgingly, accepting that nobody else was excited about her auction house idea.
They split apart into pairs, spacing themselves across the pool while Lucius watched over them from his comfortable chair, eating meat and enjoying the show.
Villy was facing against Amber in the first match.
Villy looked especially indignant about participating, probably because she was envisioning the place where they had acted the Movie: ’Dark Thoughts For You Romeo.’
She wanted to visit that filming location.
"Let’s go!" Selene called out, playing referee.
"Rock, paper, scissors!" Everyone shouted in unison, throwing their hands out.
The first round ended in an instant with clear victors and losers.
Amber had lost to Villy by using rock when Villy used paper and her face fell with disappointment.
’Whatever... the auction continues to the end of the week, we can continue.’
Vanessa had lost to Luna by using scissors when Luna used rock and Vanessa shrugged philosophically.
Elara had won over Emilia by using scissors when Emilia used paper making Emilia pouted dramatically.
And Minerva had beaten Selene by using scissors when Selene chose paper.
Selene looked genuinely shocked at losing.
"Next round!" Selene announced, trying to maintain her enthusiasm despite being eliminated.
They continued with the semi-finals, the winners facing off against each other while the losers cheered or sulked.
Luna faced Villy, and Luna won with rock against scissors.
Elara faced Minerva, and Minerva won with paper against rock.
Which left the final match: Luna versus Minerva.
The tension was surprisingly real as they faced each other across the pool.
"Rock, paper, scissors!"
Minerva threw paper. Luna threw rock.
The person who won the whole tournament was... Minerva.
The dragon girl looked surprised at her own victory, blinking at her outstretched hand like she couldn’t believe it had betrayed Luna’s rock.
"Great, Minerva... where would you like to go? We can go there in some hours. I’ll just have to make some forward preparations." Selene said, already pulling out her phone to start making calls.
Minerva thought for a moment, accessing memories she’d absorbed from Lucius during their kiss.
Human entertainment, human culture, human traditions...
"Amusement park..." She said finally, her voice carrying a hint of childlike wonder. "I want to go to an Amusement Park."
...
Several hours later, after everyone had changed into casual clothes and Selene had arranged transportation, Lucius stepped out of the Limousine.
He looked over at the Amusement Park that they had been taken to, and his eyes widened slightly with appreciation.
It was Avalon City Amusement Park, and it was really wide... sprawling across what had to be at least a hundred acres.
The entrance gate was massive, decorated with colorful lights and the sound of screaming from roller coasters mixed with carnival music filled the air.
The girls had decided that whoever won the tournament rounds got the right to have Lucius to themselves for the outing.
It was apparently meant as a prize, giving the winner exclusive time without the others competing for attention.
And so therefore, Minerva grabbed ahold of Lucius’s hand with surprising strength and dragged him forward eagerly, her eyes shining with excitement.
"Come on, let’s check it out!" She said, pulling him toward the entrance with the enthusiasm of a child visiting their first carnival.
