Reborn As The Minor Villain In A Romance Fantasy Novel

Chapter 276: Perverted Ghost

Chapter 276: Perverted Ghost

Arianne finally got down from the staircase and wrapped the towel around herself more securely, making sure everything was covered properly.

Lucius was looking in the other direction while tapping his foot on the ground impatiently, giving them privacy to compose themselves after the embarrassing incident.

"What was that...?" Arianne asked with a blush spreading across her face, her cheeks turning pink with embarrassment.

She was completely sure that Lucius had seen her breasts when she was hanging there exposed, so... did he like them? Did he think they were nice?

She desperately needed to know his opinion.

"A ghost." Lucius looked at them and noticed Lala holding down her skirt as if she was covering herself protectively from invisible eyes that might still be watching. "Don’t worry, there was really nothing to see..."

Lala puffed her cheeks and they reddened with embarrassment and indignation at his blunt and somewhat insulting assessment.

"Rude." She muttered under her breath with clear annoyance, however Villy’s reaction was the exact opposite of embarrassment or offense at the situation.

"There’s a real ghost in Hollowmire?" She asked, her eyes shining with pure excitement and wonder at the possibility. "That looks exactly like how ghosts look like in the movies too... My lord, was there anything weird about it? Any unusual characteristics or abilities?"

"I tried to grab it with my spatial manipulation... however it isn’t made of matter so there was nothing physical to hold onto. More like a reflection of light or pure energy, but somehow it was able to tie you guys up in an instant without any warning." Lucius replied while placing a hand on his chin thoughtfully, analyzing what he’d witnessed carefully. "It seems like it can change between being solid and light at will... what a strange and unusual ability for an Awakened to possess."

He wasn’t particularly worried though. After all, he had tried using space to grab something solid and tangible, not the light itself, so if he saw that ghost the next time, then he would catch it properly by targeting its energy form instead of its physical manifestation.

"Lala." He said while looking directly at the dwarf, who straightened immediately at the direct address from him. "Do you have any idea why you would be attacked like this...? Even if it wasn’t a serious attack, there must be a reason behind it."

"It could be a rival show cast trying to sabotage us... we have a lot of haters in the industry so I can’t be entirely certain, but then again, if they really wanted to obstruct the movie’s production completely, they would have gone directly for our expensive equipment instead of just harassing the actors and crew members." She said thoughtfully, trying to puzzle it out logically.

Just then, Arianne slowly began running upstairs. "Where are you going right now?"

"I’m going to go get my stuff... we have to exorcise a ghost properly." Arianne called down from halfway up the stairs, and Villy’s eyes shone with pure excitement at the prospect.

"Can I come too...? Please?"

"Of course you can." Arianne smiled at her warmly from the top of the stairs, looking down at her biggest fan. "I can give you Lala’s spare pair of uniforms. You’re just a bit taller than her so it’ll fit you perfectly."

Villy ran upstairs with Arianne excitedly, her footsteps echoing loudly on the wooden stairs, and the sound of a door opening and shutting sounded from above moments later.

Lala placed a hand on her head as she shook it with resignation at the situation they found themselves in.

"Master Lucius... you don’t have to trouble yourself with this problem. We will resolve this ourselves without bothering you further. I can continue the tour right now with Arianne in tow once we handle this ghost situation." She said politely.

She didn’t want to trouble him for her own issues and problems, however Lucius shook his head firmly in refusal.

If something serious happened to the set, then he was absolutely sure that he wouldn’t hear the end of it from Villy for weeks or possibly months.

"I’ll assist you, don’t worry about troubling me. I’m genuinely intrigued about this ghost..." He said with a sigh.

If it was actually a person that could shift their forms from solid to ghost-like, then he would be very interested in including this mystery person on his dungeon streams for content.

Watchers liked variety and he did too. A ghost-like Awakened would make for excellent and unique content that would draw massive views and engagement.

Just then, the door opened once again and the two girls came down the stairs in formation. They were wearing black clothes with straps in front and back as well as a flowing black cape behind them that swished dramatically with each movement.

The uniforms looked professional and sleek, clearly designed for both mobility and combat. Villy looked like a happy parrot as she twirled repeatedly in the uniform, admiring herself from every angle.

"I can’t believe this is the actual new uniform for the new movie that’s coming out next year. It looks so goooddd..." Villy said with pure joy radiating from her while Lala’s eyes twitched with frustration at the security breach.

"The new uniforms are supposed to be a complete secret until the official trailer drops..." Lala was on the verge of pulling out her hair like Amber does when stressed or frustrated.

Meanwhile Arianne placed a hand confidently on her waist and made sure her breasts shook as she moved deliberately. Lucius was looking in her direction so she was absolutely sure he saw that intentional movement.

"It doesn’t really matter at this point. She’s a priority fan so it’s not that big of a deal if she sees things early." She said dismissively with a casual wave of her hand. "Now let’s go hunt this ghost down! Why don’t we have energy drinks first to prepare ourselves?"

Lucius looked at her and Villy as they went to the dispenser that had the green liquid bubbling mysteriously in it. Arianne took a cup from the nearby cupboard and placed it carefully below the tap as she turned it on.

The green water flowed out steadily and filled the cup to the brim.

"Here. Have some sips..." She said, offering it to Villy, and Villy took the cup invitingly. She had always wanted to taste this legendary drink from the show.

She lifted the cup eagerly to her lips and began chugging the juice down with relative ease, letting it all flow down her throat. She dropped the empty cup and Arianne used the same one to take some for herself.

It had a sweet taste with a slight tang to it that was pleasant.

"Nothing happen—"

Villy’s body suddenly twitched violently and she felt a massive rush of energy flood her whole body like electricity coursing through her veins.

Any bit of tiredness she had accumulated from constantly skydiving earlier had vanished completely, and now she felt like she could fight a thousand ghosts without breaking a sweat.

"Whoa. This is incredible."

Even her mana was pumping through her body at an accelerated and enhanced rate. Arianne only took half a cup and she felt similar energy pumping powerfully in her body as well, her muscles energized.

"Alright, let’s go hunt this ghost down!"

All of them were soon gathered at the front door and Lucius opened it, only for thick fog to make its way aggressively inside the cottage.

The whole of the town outside was completely covered in dense fog and it was far more than before.

"Is this supposed to happen?" Lucius asked as he stepped outside into it.

The fog didn’t stop him from seeing with his spatial awareness ability, and besides it made this more action-packed and atmospheric somewhat.

"No, the fog is only supposed to be at the edge of the town, not covering everything like this." Lala replied with growing concern in her voice. "Our equipment has definitely been compromised by someone..."

There was a distinct clicking sound that sounded exactly like a camera shutter, and Lucius looked immediately in a specific direction where he’d detected movement.

"Got you." He said and turned to Lala, though she couldn’t see his face much in this thick fog. "I’ll handle the ghost or whatever it is and you go deal with the stuff with your equipment."

With that decisive statement, he leapt up above onto a nearby rooftop and disappeared completely into the fog that was practically everywhere now.

"Fuck..." Arianne muttered under her breath with frustration.

Lucius was gone already... She couldn’t impress him like this at all.

"Let’s clear a path through this fog..." Lala said while raising her hand to the side deliberately. A powerful gust of wind escaped from her palm and blew around forcefully, causing several screams along the road.

There were several women hung upside down outside of the lamp posts scattered throughout the town.

Their tops were what was used to hang their legs up and their bras shook as they squirmed desperately.

Lala gritted her teeth with pure fury at the sight.

"Come on, let’s go... I’ll kill that ghost."

"You mean exorcise." Villy pointed out correctly. "That’s the only way for ghosts to reach the Spirit real—"

"I mean kill. Some things don’t deserve to be exorcised and given peace." She said darkly as they ran down the cobblestone street and she fired more powerful bursts of wind, clearing a direct path to a section of fog machines ahead. "I hope Master Lucius catches it quickly."

Villy and Arianne followed close behind as Lala led them through the fog-covered streets of Hollowmire.

The atmosphere was genuinely eerie now, not just movie set eerie but actually unsettling and dangerous.

The lamps flickered ominously as they passed.

"Stay close," Lala commanded as they reached the first fog machine. It was running at full capacity.

"Someone tampered with this," Arianne observed, examining the controls carefully. "These are set to maximum output. This could damage the machine. As I thought... it was a rival."

...

Meanwhile, the ethereal ghost ran across the top of the houses with both its ethereal body that could move through matter and this dense fog covering its movements perfectly. There was absolutely no way that anybody could see it in these conditions.

Meaning it could get out of here quickly and finish the mission without being caught by anyone.

However, it pulled to a complete stop as someone was standing in the fog ahead of it, blocking the path completely.

Lucius dispelled the fog around them with a simple wave, looking directly at the translucent white ghost with a small knowing grin on his face.

"Oi... who are you?" He asked calmly. "I’m guessing you’re an Awakened, right? What’s your ability called?"

The ghost didn’t respond.

However, the ghost decided to run right through Lucius like before, using the same trick it had used earlier, and it went through his body, however when it got to the other side of Lucius, it had somehow become a bit solid and Lucius grabbed it firmly by the head, lifting it up into the air effortlessly.

"You caught me off-guard last time with that trick but you’re pretty weak overall." He said as the ghost slowly began to turn completely solid in his iron grip and as it did, it shrunk noticeably in size. "Show me your true self already... I have a job offer for you..."

The white ethereal figure dispelled completely and he swore he could see a girl that looked like she was twelve years old with dark green hair hanging in the air by his grip on her head.

"Eh? A kid?" He blinked in genuine surprise as the kid fumbled desperately for something with its hand. It was some kind of remote device with a red button prominently displayed on it.

She was about to push the button with her thumb, however Lucius snagged the thing quickly from her hand and looked at it curiously. "What is this? Some kind of bomb switch...?"

In the process of examining it and turning it over, he had mistakenly pushed down the red button and what followed was a massive explosion that lit the entire sky above Hollowmire. The invisible mega fan had been exploded into pieces that rained down.
