Chapter 1210: Chapter 1210: I’m Willing to Spoil You; It’s None of Their Business
He Jinxuan pulled her into his arms: "Wife, thank you for coming into my life. I will treat you well and strive to progress for the rest of my life."
Xinyan, being perceptive, didn’t expose him: "Okay, then I’ll be waiting."
He Jinxuan hugged her tightly, giving a heavy ’hmm’ as if making a promise: "From now on, my wife is my everything."
As the two were talking, they heard Xinyan’s mother, Gu Wanqing’s voice: "Yanyan, your grandfather is looking for you."
Xinyan quickly got out of He Jinxuan’s embrace, knowing why her grandfather was looking for her: "Okay, I’ll be right there."
After coming out, Gu Wanqing led them directly into the study, where Mr. Gu was already waiting.
Since Gu Wanqing had to take care of Little Chaoyun and couldn’t leave, and Han Jingchen was busy with work, the trip to Sichuan ended up being just Xinyan and her grandfather.
The reason Xinyan didn’t agree to have He Jinxuan accompany her was first because he had just taken a long marriage leave, and asking for leave again seemed unreasonable. Besides, this was a Gu family matter, since her grandfather didn’t mention it, she didn’t want to interfere.
Xinyan had anticipated this, which was why she mentioned it to He Jinxuan beforehand.
Considering that Xinyan was about to start school, and time wasn’t very abundant, Han Jingchen had already contacted a former leader, and it happened that there was a military flight going to Sichuan tomorrow afternoon, so they could hitch a ride.
After everything was settled, they agreed to meet at 10 a.m. at the Gu Family’s old house to set off together.
The two didn’t stay for dinner at the Han Family’s old house because tradition demanded that brides not spend the night at their parental home after the wedding, so they had to leave before sundown.
They had just entered the house when they heard someone calling from the courtyard gate.
He Jinxuan went out to see someone he didn’t recognize: "Who are you looking for?"
The visitor quickly spoke: "Hello, I’m Hao Yuanfang, father of Hao Xuejun."
He Jinxuan understood now; he was here to see his wife: "Come in."
Xinyan recognized the voice and knew who it was, so she went out to greet him. Even if he needed something from her, guests were guests: "Mr. Hao, why come at this time?"
Hao Yuanfang didn’t beat around the bush: "Mr. Han, I got word that you’re leaving Beijing tomorrow, so I came over abruptly."
Xinyan wasn’t surprised, since the Hao Family had people in the military, it was normal for them to know about their travel plans: "Have a seat. I was planning to visit the hospital tomorrow morning."
Hao Yuanfang felt a bit awkward hearing her say that: "I’m really sorry, I..."
Xinyan smiled and interrupted him: "I understand how you feel. Don’t worry, I’ll help him with another round of acupuncture tomorrow, which will aid his recovery.
In another half month, when he can get out of bed and move around, I’ll continue with another course of acupuncture, since it’s inconvenient for him now."
Getting an affirmative answer, and knowing it was their newlywed time, Hao Yuanfang quickly excused himself and left.
After seeing the guest off, the young couple went into the kitchen together.
He Jinxuan washed a bunch of grapes: "You sit and enjoy the grapes while I cook."
Xinyan smiled: "If others saw this, they’d say I’m lazy."
He Jinxuan, taking ingredients out of the fridge, said: "I want to spoil you, it’s nobody’s business. As long as I’m here, you won’t have to lift a finger around the house."
Xinyan picked a grape and fed it to He Jinxuan: "You’re good with words, here’s a reward."
He Jinxuan ate it from her hand, his face full of delight.
The couple lingered over dinner, and as they strolled around the yard to digest, they heard a knock at the main gate.
The young couple exchanged a glance, and He Jinxuan called out: "Who is it?"
