Chapter 826: I Really Didn’t Expect He Was the Mole
Chapter 826: Chapter 826: I Really Didn’t Expect He Was the Mole
He whispered to them, "Someone tampered with the front left tire of Xiao Zhao’s car. There’s still some time before everyone wakes up; take your tools and replace it with the spare tire from your car."
The reason he dared to do this was that he knew the person’s room couldn’t see the parking lot, and Xiao Zhao’s car was at the front, blocked by other cars at the back, so even if they did something, no one would notice.
Moreover, the parking lot was at some distance from the motel. As long as they moved quietly, they should be able to pass off without being detected. Besides, that person had likely been searching for an opportunity and hadn’t closed his eyes.
At this point, he surely thought he had done it flawlessly and went back to his room to catch up on sleep.
The three worked together diligently and managed to replace the spare tire before everyone got up to wash.
He Jinxuan repeatedly warned the two not to show any traces of what they did before he returned to his room.
After returning, he didn’t lie back in bed but directly began to wash up and changed into a fresh set of clothes before waking up his roommate.
Once everyone was ready, Xiao Zhao ran in and said, "There’s actually a wonton stall not far ahead."
This perked everybody up, and someone said with a smile, "What are we waiting for? Let’s have that for breakfast."
So, following Xiao Zhao’s lead, they arrived at the wonton stall, and unexpectedly, the owner also sold pancakes to accompany the meal.
Perhaps because he was feeling guilty, that person didn’t dare go near the car he tampered with after coming out, so he didn’t notice the tire had been changed.
After everyone had eaten, He Jinxuan, not wanting to delay longer, told everyone, "Alright, let’s check out and get ready to leave."
He Jinxuan kept an inadvertent eye on that person’s every move and truly hadn’t anticipated him being the mole.
Before they boarded the car, that person glanced in the direction where he had made his mark, and He Jinxuan’s eyes were full of mockery.
He thought: Even if they knew where this road was, the marks he made had already been dealt with. Because of the remote location, few people would typically come this way.
So, even if they chased after them to inquire, they probably wouldn’t gain anything, especially since it was cloudy today, likely to rain. If that happened, there wouldn’t be any traces left at all.
Having found the mole in the team, He Jinxuan was in an excellent mood.
After boarding, he meticulously reviewed the whole situation in his mind. To be safe, he focused on the person who shared the car and room with the suspect.
Having figured everything out, he leaned by the window and fell asleep.

In Beijing, Xinyan arrived at the research institute over the weekend, surrounded excitedly by Ye Silai and Ye Siyan, who didn’t want to be apart from her even for a step.
Ye Siyan noticed that only Xinyan had come: "Aunt, where’s Uncle?"
Xinyan chuckled, pinching his little nose, "Your uncle went on a trip. Do you miss him?"
Ye Siyan’s expression was as earnest as it could be: "I haven’t seen him in a long time."
Seeing his expression, Xinyan teased him, "Is it because you haven’t had the snacks he buys for you in a long time?"
Ye Silai, standing nearby, laughed and chimed in, "You’ve been caught by Aunt, haven’t you?"
Walking in from outside, Lin Kaixin heard the three of them and burst out laughing, "Little Siyan, are they ganging up on you again?"
Ye Siyan, knowing Aunt and his brother were teasing him, loyally defended them, "No, Aunt Lin, don’t try to sow discord."
Lin Kaixin was amused, "Your aunt didn’t spoil you for nothing, you know how to defend her."
Ye Siyan puffed up proudly, "Of course, I’m closest to Aunt."
At that moment, Ye Liyan, who had gone to buy groceries, entered the courtyard and teased, "Didn’t you just say yesterday that you’re closest to me? How did it change overnight?"
Ye Siyan clearly didn’t expect his dad to tease him, a look of mild embarrassment flashed across his face, and a bit unhappily, he said to his father, "When Aunt isn’t here, of course, I’m closest to Dad. But when Aunt is around, you have to fall in line."
Ye Liyan wanted to tease his son, "Then where do I rank exactly?"
Ye Siyan glanced at his aunt and then his brother, just as he was about to speak, his father interrupted him, "Tell me the truth, if your uncle were here too, where would I rank?"
Ye Siyan’s conflicted expression made Xinyan chuckle slightly.
Ye Liyan saw this and pressed on, "Come on, tell me."
Ye Siyan tilted his head and looked over, "But if I tell you, you can’t get mad."
Ye Liyan nodded at him, "Go ahead, I won’t get mad."
Ye Siyan glanced around the people in the courtyard, shuffled over to Xinyan’s side, and said, "Aunt ranks first, brother is second."
Seeing he stopped there, Ye Liyan gestured, "Go on."
Then Ye Siyan quickened his speech, "Uncle ranks third, and you rank fourth."
As soon as he said that, Ye Liyan was exasperated and, putting down the groceries, tried to grab his son, "You little rascal, after all I’ve done for you, you actually ranked me last."
Seeing his father trying to catch him, Ye Siyan protested, "Dad, you told me to say it, and you promised not to get mad."
Father and son started chasing each other around the courtyard.
For a time, laughter, explanations, and cries of indignation filled the lively yard.
Exhausted from running, Ye Siyan ran straight into Xinyan’s arms, "Aunt, save me."
Ye Liyan laughed, "Go on, keep running if you dare."
Ye Siyan declared, "You’re a grown-up, yet you can’t keep your word."
Lin Kaixin burst out laughing, "Our little Siyan is right."
Ye Liyan looked at Lin Kaixin in mock annoyance, "Do you really need to be so gleeful over our father-son disagreement?"
