Chapter 840: Thinking of You Everywhere

Chapter 840: Chapter 840: Thinking of You Everywhere

He Jinxuan ran over just as Xinyan was barely able to steady the bicycle.

Not just He Jinxuan—even she was a bit startled.

He Jinxuan held onto the handlebar: "Are you okay?"

Xinyan steadied herself with both feet on the ground, and released one hand to pat her chest: "I was scared to death."

Then she looked at He Jinxuan and burst into laughter.

He Jinxuan was about to flick her forehead, but saw the dust on his hand and pulled it back: "You’re laughing now, but if you really fell, let’s see if you could still laugh."

Though he said this, anyone could see the affection in his eyes.

Xinyan gave him a cheeky smile: "With you here, there’s no chance I’d fall."

Saying so, she got off the bicycle and handed it to He Jinxuan: "When did you get back?"

He Jinxuan pushed the bicycle and replied softly: "Got back this afternoon."

Xinyan said with some concern: "You didn’t even take a break, and rushed here to help out."

He Jinxuan propped the bicycle against the shop wall: "I know it’s busy here, I was worried."

He glanced around, leaned in closer to Xinyan and whispered: "Most importantly, I missed you."

Xinyan’s face flushed, and seeing nobody watching, she was reminded of what adults used to tease kids with: "Where do you miss?"

But as soon as she said it, she realized it was inappropriate, making her blush even more.

Seeing the change in the young girl’s expression, He Jinxuan smirked and leaned closer: "Everywhere."

Xinyan hadn’t yet reacted when she heard the new hire, Qi Baocheng shout: "Boss, the garment factory delivered another batch, and there’s an envelope they told me to give to you."

Xinyan shot a glare at He Jinxuan and quickly escaped: "Bring it to me."

These were the new summer clothes from the garment factory, which Lin Kaixin said were at a very favorable price for her.

She opened the envelope, looked over the price list, and thought that Lin Kaixin did a great job; she decided she must treat her to a good meal sometime, knowing she too is a foodie.

After putting the list back in the envelope, she entered the shop to check on their progress.

Now, besides Ling Tianze, the overall manager, and Chen Manjuan, the store manager, there were the four new hires. One of them was just now Qi Baocheng, a retired engineering soldier, who although limps slightly, it doesn’t affect his work.

The other three were all women. One was Gao Fu’e, whose husband has health issues, and has an unmarried son and daughter, so she cherishes the job and works diligently.

Another was Fang Runmei, who got married to avoid going to the countryside.

Originally, her in-laws promised to find her a job, but with limited opportunities in the city, it never happened. Not wanting to see her sister-in-law’s face every day, she applied as soon as she heard they were hiring here.

Xinyan found her straightforward and capable, so she kept her on.

The last one was Mao Lili, married into the town from a suburban county, very handy and quick-witted, the best part being her eloquence.

Once officially open, Qi Baocheng and Gao Fu’e will manage the consignment store.

Fang Runmei and Mao Lili will handle the clothing store, with both stores under Chen Manjuan’s management.

Xinyan took a look around the store and was quite satisfied, thinking they should have everything ready today. She had already had someone help inspect it a few days ago, and the day after tomorrow was an auspicious day.
