Chapter 1896: Chapter 1890: Owed You in My Last Life
Nangong Susu looked at the man in front of her, did she hit him too hard?
But her strikes were measured; they wouldn’t cause any real harm, right? The only explanation is that this man was already about to faint, and he somehow endured until now. What kind of crazy endurance is this, it’s really scary.
But now what to do, he’s already injured, but he’s passed out. How is she going to get him out of here?
Nangong Susu wanted to curse but wasn’t sure if she could. Does she have to deal with this? In the middle of the night, an injured person shows up, she handles it, but after being taken care of, shouldn’t he leave? Why has he fainted again?
Nangong Susu felt like crying but had no tears. She decided not to get involved in such matters again; it’s just asking for trouble. She even contemplated throwing him outside the front door, but when she saw his defenseless face, she couldn’t help but soften.
Nangong Susu went to the cabinet in her room, took out a thin blanket, and covered him with it, then grabbed her packed medical kit and returned to her room, washed up, and went to bed.
"Mm, it’s so cold." In the middle of the night, Nangong Susu heard a voice complaining about the cold while she was half-asleep, which startled her awake. After thinking for a while, she remembered there was a stranger in her living room.
"Did I owe you something in a past life, so you’re here to torment me now?" Nangong Susu turned on the light, put on her shoes, and exited her room, seeing the man’s face flushed red.
"Damn it, he’s got a fever. Is his constitution really that poor?" Nangong Susu muttered to herself but still went to get alcohol and cotton swabs to cool him down physically.
"Cold." X was already feeling cold, and when the cool alcohol hit him, he shivered even more.
Nangong Susu had no choice but to return to her room and bring out her thick quilt to cover him. After working tirelessly for most of the night, she finally managed to bring his temperature down, worried that he might otherwise burn up and turn silly.
After tidying up her things and placing them aside, Nangong Susu yawned and went back to her room, collapsed onto her bed, and fell asleep immediately.
When morning came, X opened his eyes and noticed something was off. This wasn’t where he lived; where was he?
X scanned the room, slowly recalling that it was her house. Seems that woman wasn’t so heartless after all. For someone who appeared hard to approach, she surprisingly showed sympathy. Hmm, things were getting more and more interesting.
But what’s going on now, with such hot weather, she actually covered him with such a thick blanket? Doesn’t she know that a sick person shouldn’t be covered too tightly?
Right now, X had completely forgotten that it was he who complained about the cold last night, which led to this whole situation.
The man who conveniently forgot didn’t know it all started because of him. He got up and folded the blanket, set it aside, and looked at the unclosed door. This woman really had low vigilance, letting a stranger spend the night in her home without even closing the door. Fortunately, he wasn’t a predator, otherwise, she couldn’t escape his clutches.
X tiptoed out; he couldn’t stay here any longer. If someone came looking for him and found out, he’d end up in big trouble.
This woman may seem cold, but she didn’t just ignore him. When he passed out, she let him stay at her place, proving she was warm-hearted despite her cold exterior.
Facing Nangong Susu like this, X didn’t want to bring her any unnecessary trouble.
