Chapter 1908 - 1902: Stay Behind
Chapter 1908: Chapter 1902: Stay Behind
"It’s okay, as long as it doesn’t affect his life, that’s already pretty good. I used to see him in so much pain that he couldn’t sleep through the night. So many years have passed, and having a miracle now is already great." Chu Molin had no high expectations about this because the worst-case scenario had already happened, so why fear anything worse?
Chu Molin didn’t have high demands; he felt content just seeing Ye Xiao able to eat and sleep well. After all, Ye Xiao really treated him well, better than his own children did, so Chu Molin believed that sometimes whether someone is truly good to you is unrelated to blood relations.
"That won’t happen. After so many acupuncture treatments, his condition has significantly improved. After this, it’ll only get better." Qin Xue laughed through tears, determined to do her best no matter what.
"Yeah, I believe in you." Chu Molin had a lot of faith in Qin Xue, after all, he had benefited himself, hadn’t he?
"Thank you for your love, Mr. Chu." Qin Xue smiled and responded.
"Naughty." Chu Molin reached out and ruffled the top of her head. This had become his favorite thing to do with Qin Xue.
"Hehe, with you pampering me, I feel like a princess every day." Qin Xue thought of a saying from later times: when a man puts you first in his heart, you’ll become a queen.
"I’m very grateful to heaven for giving me the chance to pamper you." Chu Molin had never believed in fate, but his wife brought him a whole new feeling, so now he was genuinely grateful to heaven.
"Alright, stop being so glib. What’s your plan going forward? Are you staying at the institute or going home?" Qin Xue asked Chu Molin.
"I’ll stay at the institute. Once I’ve trained these people, my mission will be complete." Chu Molin didn’t want to delay things day by day. The country was in dire need of talent, and delaying any further would serve no purpose.
"Alright then. Just be sure to stay safe." Qin Xue knew that physical training was extremely tiring. Currently, they needed to focus on talent as well as physical capabilities; developing in both directions was a wise decision that deserved to be promoted.
"Mm, don’t worry, I will." Chu Molin nodded.
The couple chatted there while waiting for Ye Xiao. When Gong Wuyou and the others arrived, Qin Xue checked them over and, finding no major issues, sent them on their way. As for the other matters, they could figure it out themselves.
"Sorry to keep you waiting, let’s go eat first, then I’ll take you out to buy something for the children." Ye Xiao contemplated getting his granddaughter something to eat or use to take back.
"Dad, there’s no need for that. Qing Zhu has already bought everything." Qin Xue wasn’t sure how to tell Ye Xiao, knowing full well he just wanted to show some affection.
"But regardless, this is the first time I’m seeing the child, and she’s the first granddaughter of the Ye family. As her grandfather, how can I not show anything at all? It would seem unreasonable, wouldn’t it?" Ye Xiao valued this child greatly. If only her mother could come, it would be even better, but unfortunately, his own son was not reliable, so there was no way around it.
"Alright then, but have you finished your tasks?" Qin Xue asked, worried that they might be disturbing his work if they hadn’t.
"These tasks are never-ending. I just scheduled the important research topics on my desk; the rest can be implemented gradually." Ye Xiao, after hearing Qin Xue’s words, wanted to tell her that what they were doing was just like her researchers studying new medicines or diseases.
