Chapter 1924 - 1918 Meeting
Chapter 1924: Chapter 1918 Meeting
"Dr. Liao, if there’s nothing else, I’ll take my leave." Qin Xue looked at how they had already taken over handling the situation, so she wanted to head home.
"Okay, see you." Liao Yifan looked at Qin Xue, noting that she had only encountered the situation on the road and acted on her duty as a doctor to administer aid, now accompanying them perhaps out of concern that something might happen to the injured person along the way. People with such a sense of responsibility are indeed rare.
"Ma’am, may I leave now?" Having received Liao Yifan’s response, Qin Xue turned to ask Liu Fen beside her.
"Sure, miss, what’s your name? When you have time, let me treat you to a meal to show my thanks." Liu Fen asked Qin Xue. She hadn’t noticed this side before, so she hadn’t heard Liao Yifan mention Qin Xue’s name. Now looking at Qin Xue, she realized she had mentioned going back several times, so it wasn’t appropriate to hold her back any longer.
However, the unanswered questions buried in her heart couldn’t be resolved. She wondered if there would be another chance to meet again because Qin Xue resembled someone she knew so much.
"My name is Qin Xue. No need for thanks; I’ve said before, I’m a doctor, and naturally, I stepped in to treat the case when I saw it." Qin Xue didn’t quite understand what the emotions in this woman’s eyes were trying to convey. Still, she was eager to get home, and right here, she also had to care for the patient, so this wasn’t the right time to investigate. She would have to wait for another opportunity to ask later.
Qin Xue felt a bit regretful, but the timing was just so inconvenient, there was nothing she could do about it.
"Auntie, where’s my mom?" Ying, upon reaching the hospital, saw her aunt talking to a beautiful woman but couldn’t see her mother around.
"She’s inside; the doctor is tending to her wounds." Liu Fen looked at the investigative Qin Ying.
"Auntie, I’ll wait for her at the entrance then." Ying saw there were still people around her aunt and had to wait for the situation to be understood.
"Okay, Ying, she’s the one who saved your mom, so thank her." Liu Fen glanced at Qin Xue.
"Okay, hi, I’m Qin Ying. Thank you very much for extending your helping hand to save my mother. When you have time, let us treat you to a meal." Ying responded to her aunt’s words, then turned to Qin Xue to express gratitude.
"No need, I already told your aunt, just take good care of your mother." Qin Xue was at a loss. Why did everyone open with offering her a meal?
"No matter what, we should at least get an opportunity to thank you properly." Ying wasn’t one to leave debts of gratitude unresolved.
"Maybe some other time." Qin Xue looked at this young girl, her tone even more subdued than with Liu Fen, making her seem unapproachable.
"Alright then, see when you have time and give me a call." Ying took out a business card and handed it to Qin Xue.
"Hmm." Qin Xue accepted the card before her, suddenly realizing that she had a business card. It seemed there were some discrepancies between what she saw here and what she had heard before. She wondered if this time and space were the same as the one she originally lived in, as it seemed things in this timeline were progressing much faster than what her grandparents had told her.
"I’ll go check now; you guys chat." Ying noticed that Qin Xue accepted the card, feeling a bit astonished — she showed not even an ounce of doubt, as if she had gotten used to these things. It seemed like this woman was different from others, even she only understood the purpose of such things after Gu Beihan explained it.
Seeing Qin Xue’s demeanor now, while it wasn’t odd to Ying, it still left a kind of curiosity, as if somehow this woman harbored secrets that compelled exploration.
Additionally, Ying felt as though she and this woman wouldn’t quite get along, like something significant might happen. It was truly a strange feeling. Ying shook her head, heading to check if her mother was out yet.
