Chapter 1954: Chapter 1948: Dinner Invitation
"Qin Xue, you’re spreading romance without any regard for timing, grabbing every chance you get. Haven’t you heard that showing off love leads to a quick demise?" An Hao laughed as she spoke to Qin Xue.
"You little rascal, using my own words against me, huh." Qin Xue glared at An Hao. She had once said those words to An Hao, and now An Hao was using them against her; truly, she had shot herself in the foot.
"Haha, I had to have the opportunity to use them against you first." An Hao felt truly at ease with Qin Xue. The gloomy mood she’d been in for days had finally started to lift.
"Since you’re smiling, I won’t hold it against you. Let’s go eat, I’ll treat you to ice cream." Qin Xue looked at the finally smiling An Hao. This was the An Hao she was used to, much more normal and adorable.
"Alright, I’ll graciously accept then." An Hao also wanted to unwind a bit.
"By the way, where’s your little girl?" Qin Xue asked, noticing An Hao hadn’t mentioned her child all this time.
"She’s with my grandma. They’re helping to take care of her." An Hao nodded nonchalantly. She was currently staying with The Xiaos, so, of course, the child was there too.𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
"Oh, then let’s go eat. No matter how big the world is, eating still takes precedence." Qin Xue knew there was more to the story.
"Alright, let’s go." An Hao was relieved that Qin Xue didn’t ask any further. Friends like this were truly wonderful, never making her feel awkward or embarrassed.
"An Hao, have a look at the menu and order whatever you want." Qin Xue handed the menu to An Hao.
"Alright." An Hao didn’t stand on ceremony, taking the menu and browsing through it. She ended up ordering fried duck blood, a plate of greens, and fish head tofu soup.
"Is that enough? If not, we can order a couple more dishes." Qin Xue looked at An Hao, wanting her to indulge and let out her emotions today.
"This is plenty, I’m afraid we might not even finish what we’ve already got." An Hao looked at Qin Xue helplessly. It was impressive if the two of them could finish it all, and yet she still wanted to order more. Hopefully, they wouldn’t end up with eyes bigger than their stomachs.
"I just thought you might want to try some of the new dishes here. Plus, it’s Yingying’s restaurant, you know, so eating more is not a big deal." Qin Xue said with a smile.
"Even if it’s Yingying’s place, we still have to pay for our meals. Didn’t you just buy a house and say you’re short on money? I’m helping you save here, so don’t worry about me not having enough to eat." An Hao was exasperated with Qin Xue, who seemed to think they wouldn’t have to pay at a friend’s restaurant.
"I know! I just mean if we run short on money, we can go home to get more and bring it back. I’ve never thought about dining and dashing." Qin Xue wouldn’t dare to think such things; she didn’t want to be ridiculed.
"I knew you weren’t that kind of person. It’s just two of us eating, there’s no need to order so much and waste it. Let’s just enjoy what we’ve got." While waiting for the food, they delved into a discussion on whether to order more dishes.
"Alright, I get it. You’re not afraid of spice, are you? Fried duck blood is quite a spicy dish." Qin Xue loved spicy food, but she wasn’t sure if An Hao could handle it.
"Don’t worry. I only avoided spicy food before because I was pregnant, and now that I’m not, I’ll eat whatever I want." An Hao thought that since her daughter Jing Yi was no longer breastfeeding, it didn’t matter if she ate spicy food or not.
"Okay then, today I’m treating you, so you call the shots." Qin Xue decided to go along with her.
