Chapter 2083: Chapter 2077: Uncle, Were You Eavesdropping?
"Hmm, let’s not tell Mom and Dad about your uncle leaving for a bit, okay?" Gong Wuyou didn’t want Chu Molin and the others to know he already knew about his situation.
"Then uncle has to promise Yu Ze one thing, okay?" Yu Ze began stating his own terms.
"What is it?" Gong Wuyou suddenly wondered if he had misunderstood something. Did this child have many masks?
"Uncle, don’t contemplate giving up your life. The things you don’t care about are what many people wish for but can’t get, so you need to cherish them." Yu Ze was initially someone who didn’t care but now wanted to cherish and treasure.
"Alright, I promise you." Gong Wuyou felt a feeling he couldn’t describe, sour and tearful. No one had ever said something like this to him, or asked him what he wanted or cared for. He didn’t expect such words from this little one.
"Let’s hook pinkies." Yu Ze held out his small hand, bending his little finger in front of Gong Wuyou.
"Okay, pinky promise for a hundred years with no change." Gong Wuyou extended his little finger to hook around the little guy’s tiny finger. His finger was too short to properly hook, but Gong Wuyou still earnestly hooked it with Yu Ze’s finger.
"Uncle, you have to keep your word. My mom worked really hard to save your life." Yu Ze knew that his mom, Qin Xue, saved Gong Wuyou’s life. So, he couldn’t let him ruin it somehow.
"Little guy, how do you know so much?" Gong Wuyou was genuinely surprised how rare such a child was.
"Because I am Chu Molin’s son." Yu Ze unabashedly gave all the credit to his father.
"Haha, well said. Chu Molin is a good man, so his son wouldn’t be any less." Gong Wuyou laughed, not expecting Chu Molin’s son to be so adorable.
"Uncle, we’re here too." Yu Chen and Cohen chimed in, joining the fun.
"Alright, you all are good kids, the best." Gong Wuyou was really envious of Chu Molin, so lucky to have such adorable kids.
"Mhm mhm." All three kids nodded in agreement.
"What are they talking about, laughing so happily?" Qin Xue heard the laughter from the living room and asked Chu Molin if he heard what they were discussing.
"Maybe they’re telling some funny jokes." How could Chu Molin say he overheard his eldest son talking with Gong Wuyou?
Just by chance, he came to ask the kids if they wanted some egg custard, and he heard his son’s words as he reached the doorway. He immediately knew Gong Wuyou must have overheard him and his wife talking, so to spare him the discomfort, he didn’t go in.
He also didn’t tell Qin Xue. Now hearing their laughter, it seems they’ve resolved it. That’s good, saves him from having to explain things further to Gong Wuyou later.
"Maybe." Qin Xue thought about it and figured that must be it.
"Let’s serve the food." Chu Molin brought out the cooked dishes.
"Okay, you go ahead, I’ll serve the soup." Qin Xue nodded, thinking an early meal means an early rest, and she was really exhausted.
"Dinner time, clear the table." Chu Molin called out from the doorway, telling them to clear off the toys on the table.
"Got it, time to eat." Cohen quickly used his little hands to tidy and put away the toys. That was the family rule—put things back where you got them from for easier use next time, and they all obediently followed it.
