Chapter 2221 - 2215: Paying Up
Chapter 2221: Chapter 2215: Paying Up
"My wife is going to take care of the kids." They were happy, but our Mr. Chu wasn’t willing; why should his wife have to feed them? They came to eat his food, didn’t they?
"We’ll pay for it." The assistant, hearing the deputy director’s words, spoke out without hesitation.
"That’s more like it." Chu Molin was satisfied.
"Chu Molin, I mainly want to cook for you. Since Dad is here, I’m making extra. Surely you won’t ask Dad to pay too?" Qin Xue clicked her tongue, lowering her voice. He’s not short on money, and besides, these things don’t cost much. It wouldn’t be right to charge for them, would it?
"Exactly, Qin Xue is considerate. Unlike you, you little rascal, always so stingy." Ye Xiao chimed in, having finished the last lobster and finally had a moment to speak.
"If you’re not stingy, then eat less, don’t eat so much. The pile in front of you, who’s going to think you’re generous?" Chu Molin teased, knowing Ye Xiao loved to eat, so he let him have it. Otherwise, how could he get to eat so much?
"Qin Xue, this kid really is something. Fine, next time I’ll pay." Ye Xiao wasn’t really the type to eat for free without paying.
"Okay, just kidding." If Chu Molin really did that, what would he become? Not to mention, he wouldn’t do well with his wife’s judgment.
"I think you’re right. Qin Xue taking the kids along every day and delivering meals is too tiring. It’s better to occasionally mooch a meal. Don’t you go back every week? Just bring some for me to share." Ye Xiao didn’t find anything wrong with his suggestion, as long as there was food.
"That’s doable. If I make something that can keep, I’ll definitely have Chu Molin bring it to you." Qin Xue realized everyone around her was a foodie. When there’s food involved, people will go to any lengths. She didn’t expect Ye Xiao to say that too—it was hard to accept, and she wondered if she had misunderstood Ye Xiao.
"That’s great. Here’s some cash to cover my meal expenses." Ye Xiao said, opening a drawer and pulling out a handful of bills for Qin Xue.
"Dad, really, there’s no need. I’ll just make it and have it brought to you. If we really calculated, what we owe you is way too much." Qin Xue looked reproachfully at Chu Molin, wondering what to do since he’d said so much.
"Old man, keep it. You can give it to your daughter-in-law later; she still has to raise your granddaughter. I’ll take care of my wife." Chu Molin just glanced at Ye Xiao and said calmly.
"Uh." Ye Xiao didn’t expect such a reaction from Chu Molin. He wasn’t underestimating him, was he? He just wanted to help Qin Xue a little. Buying groceries requires money, and so does buying other things, right? If they didn’t charge, they might eat them into poverty.
Considering Chu Molin’s salary, it really wasn’t easy to support the whole family, hence the money. He didn’t mean to imply he was helping Molin with family expenses.
"Stop with the ’uhs’ and take your cash back. Ye Xuan still needs to support his wife and kids. You save it for him. Here, eat as much as you like. Whatever you want, just ask." Chu Molin never told Ye Xiao he had side jobs, but he didn’t need to. As long as he could manage his life, that was sufficient.
"Okay, then I won’t stand on ceremony." Ye Xiao saw he wasn’t lying, and stopped pushing back.
