Chapter 2228 - 2222: Overexcited
Chapter 2228: Chapter 2222: Overexcited
After the Qin family finished their meal, they sat around chatting before heading to rest, as they would be traveling by car tomorrow and sleeping too late wouldn’t be good.
Qin Yu looked around the room at everything. Once they left tomorrow, it would be a long time before they returned. His sister could come back sooner, but he would need at least a semester before returning, and then again it would be a long time. This past year, he had been away more often, and seeing his parents now made him feel guilty. However, his sister said that only by leaving could he see more and understand what society is, so he must go out. Once he settles down, he’ll bring his parents over so the family can live together.
Qin Yu thought about many things before finally going to bed, deciding to deal with future matters later.
"Little sister, get up, we need to eat and then catch the bus. Didn’t you say you set a time with your classmates? If you don’t get up now, we’ll be late," Qin Yu said, even though he had gone to bed late last night, he was up early this morning to help his parents with whatever he could. But now his sister was still not up, and he didn’t know what she was doing last night to sleep till this time with no sign of waking.
"Brother, I’m so tired. I was thinking about meeting my sister last night and was too excited, so I couldn’t fall asleep until very late, which is why I’m just waking up now," Qin Jiale explained her tardiness.
"Didn’t I tell you to go to bed earlier last night? How did you end up staying up late anyway?" Qin Yu sighed helplessly, looking at his sleepy-eyed sister. What could he do? Now it’s time to eat and catch the bus; there’s no time for her to catch up on sleep.
"Maybe I was too excited, it wasn’t intentional, I’m really so tired," Qin Jiale yawned, wanting to sleep but knowing she couldn’t anymore, as she tried to wake herself up.
"I’ll go get breakfast. Hurry and wash up, or mom will come to rush you," Qin Yu thought there was no better plan than to go eat first and focus on catching the bus, thinking she could nap on the train later.
"Got it, I’ll be quick," Qin Jiale realized she needed to prioritize and wasn’t really intending to sleep more.
After finishing breakfast, the brother and sister loaded their packed luggage onto their father’s cart; carrying so much for such a distance wasn’t easy, and since there were no vehicles to take them to the street, they had to push the cart themselves.
"Dad, let me push it, you and little sister can walk alongside," Qin Yu suggested to Qin Lei after loading the luggage.
"Alright, be careful pushing it," Qin Lei felt unsure watching his son do something he hadn’t done before, not knowing whether he could manage it.
"No worries, I got this," Qin Yu said, grabbing the handle and starting to push. He might not do this often, but he wasn’t inexperienced.
"Alright, remember to send letters home when you arrive at your destination," Qin Lei still worried about his children.
"We understand, Dad, you and Mom take care of yourselves," Qin Jiale said as she picked up her backpack and swung it over her shoulder.
"Mom, we’re leaving. Take it easy at home and don’t overwork yourself," Qin Jiale shouted through the kitchen door to her mother.
"Got it, be safe," Nangong Shulan set down what she was working on and escorted her children out the door.
"Okay," the siblings replied in unison to their mother’s words, waving as they followed their father out.
"The kids have grown up and are going to spread their wings; eventually, we’ll have to face this," Nangong Shulan murmured to herself as she watched her children disappear down the road.
They all understood this; as children grew, they pursued their own paths. But as parents, the worry and longing never ceased.
