Chapter 2410 - 2404: Revealing the Human Form
Chapter 2410: Chapter 2404: Revealing the Human Form
The Head Wolf had a difficult time finding this place, only to discover humans living there. It didn’t want to harm anyone, so it stayed hidden. But then, a fox appeared, which was really enough for them to handle. What was going on? Why was everyone suddenly coming to find them? Could it be that these humans believed in the legends and truly thought their gallbladders could prolong life?
"That’s possible. We only need people. Actually, when they come looking for snowdrops, they’re trying to study how to cultivate them to get more. If you don’t want that, then we won’t take them from you." Xue Ling thought it was a big deal, but if it was just that, it was manageable because she only needed the seeds. However, Xue Ling forgot that the snowdrops only bloom and don’t bear fruit, so where would the seeds come from? She suspected that Ye Xuan had harvested the whole plant, which she could give to Qin Xue to plant in her space.
"Will you keep your word?" The Head Wolf looked at Xue Ling. Didn’t she say she had a master? Could she really make decisions just like that?
"If I say yes, then yes. They’re about to move, and I’ll ask my master to come out later. Can you promise not to harm them? Otherwise, don’t blame me for being unfriendly." Xue Ling didn’t want to resort to violence, especially not against animals.
"Okay." The Head Wolf also wanted to see what kind of person could tame a shape-shifting fox.
"Alright, I’m leaving now. You talk it over with them, see you later." Xue Ling turned back into a fox; she only showed her human form to the Head Wolf, ignoring the other wolves.
"Awooo, alright." The Head Wolf watched Xue Ling disappear in a flash and wondered if it had overstepped. Facing such a creature, it no longer felt the urge to fight but just wanted its kind to thrive well.
Perhaps this is what a Head Wolf should do; ensuring the well-being of its kind is the best outcome.
"Master, I sorted it out with them. Let’s go outside; they won’t harm you." Xue Ling communicated with Qin Xue using her thoughts upon entering the cave.
"Alright, Chu Molin, Xue Ling has settled it on her end. Let’s go out." Qin Xue took Chu Molin’s hand, said this, and they exited the space.
"How did you handle it with them?" Qin Xue looked at the little fox at her feet. What was it doing—acting cute?
"I just fixed them in place, and they realized their abilities weren’t as good as mine." Xue Ling didn’t understand the Head Wolf’s thoughts but was content that they could listen to her.
"That simple?" Qin Xue found it hard to believe.
"I revealed my human form." Xue Ling lowered her head, avoiding Qin Xue’s gaze.
"I knew you must’ve done something; otherwise, it wouldn’t have been that easy." Qin Xue understood. That surely made a difference.
"You’re the boss. Anyway, as long as we get the clues, it’s all good." Chu Molin didn’t say much else. His main concern was finding out where Ye Xuan was—alive or dead?
As for the Snow Wolves, as long as they didn’t attack, he wouldn’t harm them. This was both sides’ wish; neither wanted to hurt the other. However, Chu Molin didn’t know this was what the Head Wolf wanted.
