Chapter 2560: Chapter 2554: You’re Really Funny
"After I send you home safely, I will go see her. Right now, the most important thing is to get you home safe." Gu Beihan didn’t say much more; he simply went about his actions as he intended.
"Seriously? After all that talk, you still haven’t changed your mind? Are you a bull?" Qin Xue was truly speechless; had she wasted her breath?
"What do you mean?" Gu Beihan looked at her puzzled; how was he a bull?
"Stubborn, what else could it be?" Qin Xue wasn’t trying to curse; she felt like screaming. He wouldn’t accompany the person who wanted him there. He wasn’t needed here, so why was he trying to make himself known?
"You’re absolutely right; that’s just my temperament. What’s the problem? Do you have an issue with it?" Because of his temper, Gu Beihan got a nickname — Bull Demon King.
His stubbornness helped him accomplish quite a few things, as he took risks others wouldn’t dare to try; he broke through, and success followed.
But the journey cost them a great deal of effort and sacrifice to reach where they are today.
For Qin Xue to achieve what she wanted was not easy, because once someone became stubborn, no matter what you said, they wouldn’t listen. It left her feeling helpless.
"What happens to you is none of my concern. I only care about our family, Chu Molin. I really have matters to attend to right now; please don’t come with me. Otherwise, I won’t consider Qin Ying’s issues anymore; you should ask someone else instead." Qin Xue directly threatened Gu Beihan. She needed to consult with Xue Ling to see if there were other ways to solve the problem here.
If Gu Beihan came along, what could she do? It was clear it wasn’t possible, so she didn’t want him tagging along.
"Does your husband treat you well?" Gu Beihan paused after hearing Chu Molin’s name and asked.
This woman seemed to only have that man in her heart and mind. Was he really that good? Gu Beihan was puzzled. Clearly, Chu Molin seemed so indifferent; would he understand what emotion truly meant?
It wasn’t that Gu Beihan looked down on Chu Molin, but based on his understanding of Qin Xue, he felt she needed someone who could be there to support her in every situation, not someone who constantly caused her troubles. That kind of person wasn’t of much help to her and made her circumstances more complicated.
Yet seeing Qin Xue’s demeanor, perhaps his assumptions were wrong, and he ended up quite confused.
"Of course." Qin Xue’s expression changed the moment she spoke of Chu Molin, becoming gentle and vibrant, her eyes filled with affection.
Seeing such a Qin Xue, Gu Beihan felt frustrated. Without mentioning that man, she wasn’t as happy, but just one question and she changed completely.
Moreover, he often employed any means necessary to achieve his goals, but now he began to doubt if those methods would actually work.
"But why do I find it unbelievable?" Gu Beihan couldn’t stand Qin Xue’s smug expression and tried to dampen her spirits.
"You’re truly amusing. Whether you believe it or not isn’t really your business. It only matters if I personally feel it’s right. Are you worrying too much over nothing?" Qin Xue glared at him. What did any of this have to do with anything? Only she knew how she was doing. No one understood Chu Molin’s goodness better than she did. So, when this man expressed disbelief, it seemed irrelevant to her, didn’t it?
If Gu Beihan knew Qin Xue was thinking this way, he would surely reproach himself, realizing he had miscalculated.
