Chapter 2646: Chapter 2642: I’m a Grown-Up Now
"Mom, just say whatever you want, it’s okay." Cohen didn’t know what was troubling his mother, just wanting to hear her out.
"Cohen, you have to go to school, right?" Qin Xue felt it was best to talk to him in an approachable way.
"Yes, school has teachers and classmates." Cohen didn’t understand what his mother’s words had to do with his schooling.
"Right, you have teachers and classmates to study and play with you. Your dad and I have some things to attend to in S Province, so let Uncle Ding and Aunt Li look after you for a few days, okay? We’ll come back to get you after we finish our business there." Qin Xue thought for a moment and slowly started saying.
"Okay." Cohen didn’t express any reluctance nor did he ask why, which surprised Qin Xue and Chu Molin. The couple exchanged glances.
"Aren’t you going to ask why?" Qin Xue was puzzled; she thought she would need to say a lot more, but everything was settled so easily.
"No need, you already said you’ll come back after finishing things there, so it won’t take long. What else is there to ask?" Though Cohen was young, he wasn’t ignorant. His parents had things to handle, and they already arranged for someone to take care of him, so he just needed to be obedient.
"Okay, we’ll keep our word, we won’t be gone long. Mom and Dad are just going to restock, and then we’ll return with your little brother. By the way, your aunt and uncle will come home for the weekend too. If you don’t want to stay at Uncle Ding’s place those days, you can ask him to take you back home and stay with them." Qin Xue didn’t limit him from staying at home.
She just wanted him to be fine and to stay wherever he felt comfortable and secure.
"Mom, don’t worry, I’m fine here, I’m grown-up and won’t throw tantrums." Cohen didn’t want his mother to worry, or she’d have trouble focusing on her tasks, and that wasn’t what he wanted.
"Yes, Cohen is our little grown-up." Qin Xue couldn’t help but laugh, thinking how he wanted to be an adult at such a young age.
"Mhm, you both just go handle your things, and if it’s really not possible, I can stay at school." Cohen, though young, wasn’t clueless.
"That’s not necessary. I’ve talked to Aunt Li, and she’ll take care of you. We’ll come back as soon more after restocking. It won’t take long." Qin Xue thought if there was a plane, it wouldn’t take so long.
The main issue is the long travel time by car, so there’s no immediate way to reach, delays are to be expected.
"Okay, I understand." Cohen thought, he could go anywhere, as long as his parents were assured, it didn’t matter to him where he stayed.
Maybe it’s related to him being passed around before, becoming accustomed to being unsettled, and now all this was no big deal.
"Good boy." Chu Molin patted his head and praised him.
"Auntie, can Cohen come to our house? I can go to school with him, and we can come home together after school." Nannan overheard Cohen going to someone else’s house and thought it’d be more convenient if he went to theirs.
"Nannan, that’s not possible, your mom just gave birth to a baby brother and needs to rest, she doesn’t have time to take care of you both. That’s why you’re staying at our place today. After your dad finds someone to look after you, you’ll go back home." Qin Xue wasn’t unwilling for Cohen to go; there was just no choice, as it wasn’t suitable at Nannan’s.
But now Dongfang Li isn’t in a position to help; it’s more trouble going there, making it hard to take care of Nannan too. Adding Cohen would be impossible, so it’s better to have him stay at Ding Xi’s place.
