"Didn’t I say there’s no need to make food? Why don’t you listen?" Chu Molin looked at his wife bringing in a fruit plate, knowing she wouldn’t obediently listen.

"I’m not tired." Qin Xue placed the fruit plate in front of them, not sure if they’d had their chat.

"Mom, you should really rest. We’re fine here." Cohen wanted to see his mother take care of herself, especially since she has a younger daughter now.

"I know, I’m just happy to serve you." Qin Xue said, patting Cohen on the head, smiling as she left without disturbing their conversation.

"Do what you really want to do, don’t worry about us." Continuing the topic, Chu Molin spoke with Cohen.

"I understand, Dad. I won’t overthink it. Don’t worry." Cohen realized his parents’ intentions, easing his restless heart.

As long as he knew his parents loved him and didn’t intend to abandon him, he wouldn’t feel alone no matter what happened in the future.

Even if those people were indeed his family and he had to return, he wouldn’t feel like a rootless duckweed unwanted by anyone.

"Yeah, don’t overthink. Our family is in this together, facing all difficulties as one, you’re not alone." Chu Molin patted his head, knowing this child had been through too much and was too sensitive.

"Okay, thank you, Dad." Cohen’s eyes were red. He thought they didn’t want him, but now he understood his father’s words, and he felt happy inside, knowing he wasn’t alone.

With so many family members supporting him, so many people loving him, what was there to worry about?

But since these were cut fruits, they would spoil if not eaten, which would be even more wasteful.

"Okay, let’s take it out and eat together." Cohen had no intention of eating alone, good things are meant to be shared.

"Okay, I’ll carry it, you take your time walking." Chu Molin saw his smile and took the fruit plate himself, leaving it to a father to carry instead of the child.

"Alright, let’s go." What else could Cohen say? He couldn’t outmatch his father, so off they went to eat fruit.

"Finished talking?" Qin Xue, chatting with Chu Xiaoqiao, quietly asked as she saw Chu Molin and his son come out.

"Yeah, we’re done." Chu Molin placed the fruit on the table to the side, acknowledging her.

"Was the fruit not good? Why didn’t you touch it?" Qin Xue looked over at the untouched fruit plate, wondering if it was tasteless or if her arrangement was unappealing.

"The kid said to bring it out so everyone could enjoy it together. He said it’s happiest when the whole family is present, so no one touched it because you weren’t there. Let’s eat together." How could Chu Molin say otherwise? The child had spoken, so naturally, he complied.

"Our Cohen is so considerate, come on, let’s eat fruit together. I’ll cut more after we finish." Upon hearing the reason for the untouched fruit, Qin Xue invited everyone to join in, or rather, to use their mouths to help eat together.

"Alright then, let’s not stand on ceremony." Everyone cheerfully agreed.
