Chapter 3137 - 3135: Who Set the Trap
Chapter 3137: Chapter 3135: Who Set the Trap
Chu Molin returned home and looked at the two children, unsure of how to tell them that their mother had disappeared right in front of him.
Where Qin Xue went was unclear to him, but he wouldn’t give up. He was determined to find a way to locate her.
"Dad, you’re back. Where’s Mom?" Yu Chen missed his mom, having not seen her for quite a while, and was really struggling to adjust.
Before when he didn’t see his mom, Xue Ling was there to keep him company, but now Xue Ling wasn’t home, which was a first for this situation.
So when he hadn’t seen his mom for a long time, Yu Chen started searching for her.
"She’s gone somewhere far for business, and she’ll be back when she’s done. Now let me take you to wash up," Chu Molin said. He knew Chu Xiaoqiao had cooked for them, so he didn’t mention eating but suggested resting.
"Okay, we understand, let’s go," Yu Ze replied suspiciously, looking at his father. Something felt odd, though he didn’t ask.
The two brothers obediently followed their father to wash up and then went to bed.
Though both brothers missed their mother greatly, seeing their father with a somewhat displeased expression, they refrained from asking.
"Dad," Yu Ze woke up in the middle of the night, seeing his father sitting nearby watching them, not asleep, he called out.
"Awake? Need to use the bathroom?" Chu Molin came back to his senses, asking his eldest son.
"Dad, can we talk?" Yu Ze looked at his father, feeling compelled to discuss.
"Sure, but what do you want to talk to me about?" Chu Molin knew his son was perceptive.
"Where exactly did Mom go? Did something happen to her?" Yu Ze initially didn’t want to ask this.
But previously, their mom hadn’t mentioned going anywhere. She told them she was going to the hospital after dropping them off with their father, but only their father returned, indicating something must have happened to their mom.
"Don’t overthink it. She’s just gone somewhere else, nothing serious will happen," Chu Molin acknowledged his son’s keen insight, yet he hadn’t anticipated the straightforward question.
In this situation, it wasn’t that he didn’t want to explain, but the children were too young; saying too much wouldn’t be understood by them.
Now that his eldest son asked, he had to respond, but he didn’t want to bluntly reveal Qin Xue’s ordeal.
"So it’s true that something happened. Can you tell me what occurred?" Yu Ze looked at his father’s expression, hesitant yet compelled to ask, remembering the tender woman.
"She was taken there by someone. When we went to rescue her..." Chu Molin briefly described the situation during Qin Xue’s rescue without going into detail.
"So someone set this up, who could it be?" Yu Ze wasn’t entirely na?ve; upon hearing this, he knew there was more to it.
But at the moment, he couldn’t think of who might have orchestrated this scheme.
"I’ll find out. Do you need to use the restroom?" Chu Molin asked the child, hoping he’d go and then come back to rest.
"No." Yu Ze had woken up due to sensing his father’s unease, not because he wanted to use the bathroom.
"Then go back to sleep. Kids need good rest to grow well," Chu Molin patiently advised the child.
"Dad, why don’t you sleep with us?" Yu Ze suggested to his father, knowing that not resting wasn’t the solution. It was only a day now, but many such days would follow; couldn’t go on without rest forever.
