Reborn Lady

Chapter 140

Chapter 140

Yin Hui had nothing to say.

Wei Luo led Xiao Heng out for a distance. When Xiao Heng found a grasshopper, he let go of his father’s hand and started to work on his own.

Wei Luo looked at his carefree son, and the scene of Er Lang pushing Si Lang was still in his mind. That scene seemed familiar.

When he was a child, he was also pushed and yelled at by his second brother. When his second brother got angry, he turned around and lashed out at him. He would cry at the beginning, so he ran to find his mother. Apart from crying, his mother told him to bear it, saying that Concubine Li had a prominent background, and told him not to conflict with his second brother.

So, he never went to his mother to tell these things again.

Later, when they grew up, the second brother seemed to have become his own brother, and every time they met, he greeted him with a smile.

After throwing the children to the wet nurses, Ji Xianxian returned to her yard, only to find that Wei Yan had also returned.

“Where are the children?” Wei Yan leaned comfortably on the couch and looked behind her while asking.

Ji Xianxian said, “The nurses took them to play. Let’s go for a walk too.”

Wei Yan did not participate in the hunt, but he frequently rode his horse, which was really enough for him.

“I hardly get a day off, so just let me be,” Wei Yan refused without thinking.

Ji Xianxian suggested, “Then let’s go outside for a walk. What’s there to do in this yard?”

Wei Yan didn’t want to move, so he asked the maid to prepare a chessboard to play chess with Ji Xianxian.

Then Er Lang and Si Lang came back, one was furious, and the other was still crying.

Wei Yan put down the chess pieces, frowned, and asked Er Lang, “What’s the matter? Did you bully Si Lang again?”

Er Lang replied, “I didn’t. He fell on his own, but he blamed me.”

Si Lang cried loudly, “You pushed me! It was you who pushed me!”

The two children insisted on their own words, and Wei Yan looked at the two wet nurses.

Er Lang’s nurse remained silent, but Si Lang’s nurse’s expression changed, and she knelt down and said, “It’s true that Si Lang fell by himself, and it has nothing to do with Er Lang.”

Ji Xianxian breathed a sigh of relief and then persuaded Wei Yan, “Forget it, they are children, so it is inevitable that there will be accidents.”

Wei Yan couldn’t bear to hear Si Lang cry, so he asked the wet nurse to carry Si Lang out to coax him.

Er Lang climbed onto the couch to watch his parents play chess.

There were fruits on the table. When Er Lang saw the oranges, he picked one up and stuffed it into his mother’s arms, saying, “Mother, Third Aunt peeled the oranges for Wu Lang, so you peel one for me too.”

Ji Xianxian felt sour and said dotingly, “Okay, okay, I will peel it for you.”

Er Lang felt comfortable after eating the orange peeled by his mother, moved his eyes, and said to Wei Yan, “Dad, Third Uncle is playing with Wu Lang outside. Can you play with me too?”

Ji Xianxian also wanted to go out, so she acted cute with her eyes.

Wei Yan had no choice but to accompany them to play outside.

In the west wing, the wet nurse patted Si Lang lightly and walked around the room as he lay on her shoulder in an aggrieved manner. Suddenly, through the glass window, he caught a glimpse of his father leading Er Lang out, so he wanted to go too.

The wet nurse said wearily, “My little ancestor, please be quiet. Er Lang is the legitimate son, and your biological mother is just a concubine. So don’t compare yourself to Er Lang again, okay? Take a look at Sister Mei; she is a concubine-born, and is sensible.”

Shi Lang didn’t understand. All he knew was that his father took Er Lang to play and didn’t take him. Er Lang lied, he told the truth, but his father didn’t believe him.

On the way, they saw Wu Lang’s family from a distance, so Wei Yan wanted to go over to say hello or enjoy their time out together. But Er Lang was afraid that his third uncle would expose his lies, so he insisted on dragging his father to the other side.

Wei Yan scolded him, “You don’t understand any rules. Do you still want your grandfather to punish you?”

Er Lang just didn’t want to go to Wu Lang.

Ji Xianxian spoke for her son, “The third master has a cold face every day. We used to make fun of him ourselves in the past. Why bother?”

Wei Yan was persuaded by his wife to leave and only waved at Wei Luo from a distance.

Looking at the three of them, Wei Luo could completely imagine what Si Lang had just experienced.

After Xiao Heng had caught enough grasshoppers, the family of three went back to the other courtyard.

The wet nurse held Xiao Heng to wash his hands.

Yin Hui was not in a hurry to tidy up; she took out a paper knife, cut off a small piece from the top of the orange, and dug out the whole orange petal inside.

After Wei Luo washed his hands, he saw that there were already three hollowed-out orange shells on the table, and Yin Hui was seriously tinkering with the fourth one, with peaceful eyes and a smile on her lips.

“What is this for?” Wei Luo asked after sitting opposite her and telling the maids to retreat.

Yin Hui explained without raising her head, “I am making a few orange lamps for Xiao Heng. I’ll stick a candle in at night, and the oranges will glow.”

When eating oranges outside, Yin Hui suddenly thought that when she was a child, her grandfather took her to make orange lanterns.

She was in high spirits, and she wasn’t afraid that the orange juice would get her hands dirty. Wei Luo looked at it silently for a moment, and then suddenly asked, “If Er Lang pushed Xiao Heng today, what would you do?”

Yin Hui paused and looked at him.

Wei Luo waited for her answer.

Thinking of Er Lang’s way of pushing Si Lang, Yin Hui said angrily, “If he dares to push Xiao Heng like that, I will let him know that I can spank his ass too, harder than his mother.”

Seeing that he had nothing else to say, Yin Hui continued digging oranges.

Wei Luo went to the inner room and soon came back with a pen and ink in his hand.

He picked up Yin Hui’s hollowed-out orange shell, held it in the palm of his hand, and made a painting with a brush, which he put on the table.

Yin Hui turned to it curiously, saw the tiger’s head outlined with a few strokes, and smiled.

The couple dug oranges and painted them, peaceful and quiet, until Xiao Heng ran over after washing his hands, causing trouble for his parents.

The author has something to say:

Xiao Heng: I have an orange lamp!

Er Lang: I want one!

San Lang: I want one too!

First Master & Second Master: Third, you are going too far.
