Chapter 2715: The Same Dark Creature
Chapter 2715: The Same Dark Creature
Lou Liwei stood directly in front of Ji Gu Niang while holding the jade bracelet tightly in his hand. His eyes were closed tightly as he continuously chanted an ancient, rhythmic incantation under his breath.
Soon afterwards, everyone present felt a faint breeze appear out of nowhere. This underground chamber was completely sealed from the outside world, making the phenomenon absolutely impossible under normal circumstances. Yet the strange wind continued to grow stronger and stronger as time passed, whipping at their clothes.
Yu Qi narrowed her eyes, her instincts flaring. She suddenly noticed a dark, mist-like substance slowly emerging from the bracelet in Lou Liwei’s hand. The malevolent aura felt extremely familiar to her. It was exactly the same foul aura she had sensed from the creature summoned by Ma Chunwei.
At that exact instant, Yu Qi realised the horrifying truth. Ji Gu Niang’s soul was never inside the bracelet. The thing sealed within the bracelet was the dark creature itself, a demon.
The dark creature slowly crawled out from the restricted confines of the bracelet, its twisted, grotesque form becoming clearer with each passing second. When Lou Liwei suddenly coughed up a violent mouthful of blood, Yu Qi immediately knew that the situation had reached a critical, life-threatening point.
When Lou Liwei coughed up some blood, Yu Qi knew that it was time for them to intervene.
"Master!" Lou Weizhe shouted in alarm when he saw his master vomiting blood and staggering backwards.
The bracelet slipped from Lou Liwei’s limp hand and fell heavily onto the stone ground. The moment the bracelet left his grasp, the dark creature began crawling out much faster than before, eager to break free completely.
"Brother Hui! Let’s help him!" Yu Qi called out immediately, her voice cutting through the chaos.
"Hmm." Long Hui nodded, his eyes turning cold.
The two of them reacted instantly with flawless coordination and rushed toward the fallen bracelet. Yu Qi quickly formed a rapid series of hand seals in the air, creating a golden restraining array designed to trap the entity before it could fully emerge. At the same time, Long Hui appeared directly in front of the crawling dark creature like a ghost.
Without a single shred of hesitation, he stepped down heavily with immense spiritual force onto one of the creature’s elongated, shadowy arms. The dark creature immediately let out a shrill, ear-piercing shriek of agony that echoed violently throughout the entire underground chamber.
The underground chamber shook violently under the force of the creature’s agonising scream. The sound was not merely loud. It also carried an explosive spiritual vibration that caused the glowing arrays on the walls to flicker erratically.
The creature struggled frantically beneath Long Hui’s heavy boot. Dark mist hissed and evaporated wherever it came into contact with his overwhelming aura.
Despite the pain, the demon’s grotesque, multi-eyed head snapped toward Long Hui. Its jaws unhinged unnaturally wide, revealing rows of jagged, ethereal teeth. With a feral snarl, it lunged directly toward his leg.
"Don’t you dare!!!" Yu Qi shouted.
With a final sharp movement of her fingers, she slammed both hands downward toward the stone floor. Seeing Yu Qi’s action, Long Hui immediately jumped aside to clear the blast radius.
The series of hand seals she had just formed instantly materialized into a brilliant cage of golden light, dropping squarely over the thrashing entity. The moment the bars of the restraining array touched the black mist, loud popping sounds similar to firecrackers echoed throughout the cave, accompanied by the foul, pungent smell of burning miasma.
The creature shrieked again in agony, slamming itself against the solid bars of light.
Seeing the creature successfully trapped within the golden cage, Yu Qi hurried over to check on the unconscious Sang Yuling. The young woman had probably been knocked unconscious earlier during the initial commotion. Fortunately, she had not suffered any serious injuries, only sustaining a few minor scratches from the loose debris.
Afterward, Yu Qi moved over to examine Ji Gu Niang as well. The girl appeared completely unharmed, which made Yu Qi feel greatly relieved under the circumstances. She then asked Long Hui to help move the bed farther away from the golden cage, taking precautions in case the creature somehow managed to break free from the containment.
Once that was done, Yu Qi immediately rushed over to Lou Liwei’s side.
Lou Liwei looked extremely pale while resting helplessly in Lou Weizhe’s arms. Traces of fresh blood remained at the corners of his lips, making his physical condition appear rather alarming to anyone looking on.
"Are you alright?" Yu Qi asked, her voice tinged with professional focus.
"Hmm..." Lou Liwei responded weakly, barely able to keep his eyes open.
Yu Qi reached out and grabbed Lou Liwei’s wrist to check his pulse, feeling the erratic thumping of his spiritual pathways.
"You are injured internally." Yu Qi sighed, assessing the magical backlash.
She pulled out a small, translucent porcelain vial from her pocket and poured a round, fragrant medicinal pill into her palm.
"Eat this. It will stabilise your agitated spiritual veins and help heal the internal injuries and bleeding." Yu Qi instructed gently but firmly.
Lou Liwei did not hesitate in the slightest. Trusting her completely, he immediately swallowed the pill. Almost instantly, a soothing warmth spread throughout his body from his chest, and some healthy colour gradually returned to his previously pale cheeks. He looked up at Yu Qi, his eyes filled with a complex mixture of profound gratitude and deep embarrassment.
"Thank you, Ms Tang." Lou Weizhe expressed his gratitude sincerely on behalf of his master.
"You don’t need to thank me yet. This matter is not over." Yu Qi replied while glancing darkly toward the vibrating golden cage.
