The evidence package we transmitted was more than enough to open several major indictments against the Lee Family.”

“And the other three families?” Yu Qi inquired.

“They are keeping a very close watch on the developments.” Long Hui noted. “They have even cooperated by handing over secondary files to the authorities.”

Yu Qi nodded. It aligned with her expectations. The three allied families had zero incentive to shelter the Lee Family at this point. Once the evidence was authenticated, severing ties was the only logical move. The Lee Family’s crimes were simply too severe to sweep under the rug.

“What about MicroTech?” Yu Qi pressed further.

“Continent M’s federal authorities have begun probing the organisation’s regional ties, but it is proving to be an uphill battle.” Long Hui’s tone turned serious.

“Because of their backing?” Yu Qi asked.

“Which is why we have to unmask the mastermind directing it all.” Yu Qi frowned.

There were still far too many missing pieces.

Yu Qi’s expression darkened. “That is what concerns me most.”

“What is that?” Yu Qi looked at him curiously.

“We have Neko-chan.” Long Hui chuckled.

Yu Qi blinked, then a bright smile broke across her face. “You are right.”

“If this individual has left behind even the smallest digital footprint across their network, Neko-chan will eventually trace it back to him.” Long Hui said smoothly.

“Still, we must exercise extreme caution.” Yu Qi reminded him softly. “If Master Liang truly hails from the cultivation realm, we can’t treat him like a conventional target.”

“I know.” Long Hui reached across the table, taking her hand into his own. “No matter what comes, I will be right beside you.”

Yu Qi met his gaze, a warm, reassuring smile spreading across her face.

For a brief moment, a comfortable silence settled over the dining area.

Then Yu Qi recalled another detail. “Wait a minute… Where did you head off to after I fell asleep yesterday? Did a mission come up?”

“I went to military headquarters to brief command on our findings regarding MicroTech.” Long Hui clarified. “It turns out our intelligence division has also been actively tracking them.”

“They were already investigating MicroTech?” Yu Qi’s eyes widened slightly in surprise.

“Yes.” Long Hui nodded.

“Did they uncover any new intelligence?” Yu Qi was eager to know.

“Where?” Yu Qi asked fast.

“It’s not situated on an isolated island this time.” Long Hui revealed, his tone turning sharp. “It’s built directly beneath a prominent, legitimate medical facility right here in Binhai Nation, the Shenxie Research Centre.”

“What? The same Shenxie Research Centre that tried to sabotage my research centre before?” Yu Qi’s eyes narrowed into slits. “How deep does their facility go?”

“The military has not established the full structural scope yet. They still need on-site intelligence.” Long Hui explained before adding, “I volunteered to handle the mission myself.”

Yu Qi remained quiet for a few seconds before a cold, amused smirk touched her lips.

“Looks like our weekend plans are officially set.” Yu Qi chuckled softly.

“Indeed.” Long Hui agreed with a crisp nod.

After finishing her meal, Yu Qi offered to help clean up the kitchen, but Long Hui firmly insisted she go take a warm shower and get some rest instead. Yu Qi nodded obediently and made her way into their bedroom.

Following his advice, Yu Qi drew a warm bath. She sank into the tub, allowing the soothing water to wash away the lingering tension in her muscles. Once thoroughly refreshed, she stepped out, dried herself, and climbed straight into bed. Exhaustion overtook her almost immediately, and she drifted off to sleep. In her groggy state, she vaguely sensed a tender touch gently drying her hair, but she was far too tired to open her eyes and simply sank deeper into slumber.

It was Long Hui. After wrapping up in the kitchen, he had walked into the bedroom only to find his beloved Qi Qi fast asleep in her plush bathrobe, her hair still damp.
