Chapter 2824: Chapter 2824: Qin Xia joined The Infiltration

“What are you thinking?” Long Hui asked gently, noticing the sudden change in her expression.

Yu Qi flashed a sweet grin at Long Hui before turning her glowing gaze back to Qin Xia.

“Senior Brother Xia, are you free tomorrow night?” Yu Qi asked, her smile widening into something full of anticipation.

“Oh? What little scheme do you have cooking in that head of yours?” Qin Xia asked, instantly intrigued by her lively expression.

“We know for a fact that Master Liang is returning to the Shenxie Research Centre tomorrow night to deal with the tree’s disappearance. Why don’t the three of us go together? Who knows. Maybe this elusive Master Liang is actually an old acquaintance of ours.” Yu Qi proposed, her eyes gleaming with excitement.

Qin Xia let out a delighted laugh upon hearing her suggestion.

“Junior Sister, that is an exceptional idea. I would love nothing more than to meet this infamous Master Liang myself. It promises to be quite entertaining.” Qin Xia agreed with a satisfied nod.

“Great! The plan is officially set then. With all three of us there, I doubt he will be able to slip out of our hands tomorrow night.” Yu Qi declared confidently.

“You are absolutely right. He would not be escaping.” Qin Xia smiled, his eyes glinting with a dangerous promise.

….

The following morning, Yu Qi headed to the hospital for her usual shift. She worked straight through until 2:00 p.m. without taking a break. A heavy influx of patients had kept her completely occupied the entire time, and by the time she finally wrapped up her duties, her stomach was growling loudly in demand for a proper meal. Deciding to head toward the cafeteria, she happened to run into Tang Qin Hao along the corridor.

“Brother Qin Hao, are you on your way to the cafeteria too?” Yu Qi asked cheerfully.

“Mhm… I am planning to grab a quick bite to eat before getting back to work.” Tang Qin Hao replied softly.

“Didn’t you mention before that you were going to visit home? But you have not been back, have you?” Yu Qi asked, a mischievous grin playing on her lips.

Tang Qin Hao froze slightly, recalling that he had indeed promised her he would return home a few days ago. However, unexpected emergency cases had cropped up at the last minute, preventing him from leaving the hospital.

“How did you find out?” Tang Qin Hao asked, tilting his head slightly.

“I ran into Auntie Ming Yue at the wet market yesterday. We chatted for a bit, and I happened to ask about you.” Yu Qi explained with a smile.

“Ah… Something urgent came up. I simply could not spare the time to go back.” Tang Qin Hao clarified patiently.

“I see… Well, it is not really my place to lecture you about it, but Brother Qin Hao, Auntie Su Xiao must be missing you desperately. You are her eldest son, after all.” Yu Qi reminded him gently.

“Mhm… I will make sure to carve out some time to go home and visit the family soon.” Tang Qin Hao nodded approvingly.

He felt no resentment toward Yu Qi for bringing up his personal life. He understood her good intentions. She was merely reminding him that his mother and relatives were eagerly awaiting his return.

“Mhm, that is good to hear.” Yu Qi smiled approvingly.

With that, the two bid each other farewell and went their separate ways.

When her shift finally came to an end, Yu Qi clocked out and stepped out of the hospital building. Spying Long Hui’s sleek car parked a short distance from the entrance, she walked over and slid into the passenger seat. The moment she settled in, Long Hui turned to glance at her.

“You seem particularly excited today.” Long Hui commented, a faint smile touching his lips.

“Of course I am! Tonight, we finally get to confront the mastermind behind those horrific human experiments.” Yu Qi declared, her eyes bright with anticipation.

“Mhm… But we need to fill our stomachs first.” Long Hui reminded her smoothly.

“Agreed.” Yu Qi nodded in full agreement.

Long Hui drove straight toward the luxury hotel where Qin Xia was staying. Along the way, Yu Qi sent a text message to Qin Xia, informing him that they were en route to his hotel and asking if he would like to join them for dinner before they set off for the Shenxie Research Centre.

She received an instant reply. Qin Xia informed her that he would be waiting for them in the hotel restaurant, having already reserved a private dining suite in advance. All she needed to do was mention his name to the host at the entrance.

“Senior Brother Xia said he has already reserved a private room for us.” Yu Qi shared with Long Hui.

“Mhm.” Long Hui acknowledged with a simple nod.

Fifteen minutes later, they pulled up to the hotel. After parking the vehicle, they made their way directly to the restaurant. Just as instructed, Yu Qi provided Qin Xia’s name to the waiter at the reception. The waiter nodded politely, gesturing for them to follow him as he guided them toward the reserved suite.

Reaching the private room, the waiter knocked twice on the door. Upon hearing a firm voice grant permission from inside, he pushed the door open to let them in.

Looking into the room, Yu Qi and Long Hui spotted Qin Xia already seated comfortably at the table, waiting for their arrival.

“Senior Brother Xia.” Yu Qi greeted him warmly.

“Mhm.” Qin Xia nodded in greeting. “I went ahead and pre-ordered a few dishes I know you enjoy. If there is anything else you’d like, feel free to add to the order.”
