Chapter 2827: Chapter 2827: I Have Already Cracked It

“Let’s head down.” Long Hui said, his expression growing icy cold.

Yu Qi nodded firmly in agreement.

Slipping into the hidden access shaft, the three of them prepared to descend into the very heart of the MicroTech Organisation’s subterranean base, absolutely determined to meet the elusive Master Liang face-to-face.

They walked steadily down the dimly lit corridor toward the massive chamber where the ancient tree had previously been kept. The heavy double doors to the room remained tightly closed.

Qin Xia paused as he took a closer look at the doorframe, visibly surprised when he spotted the intricate markings surrounding the entrance.

“It is an array formation.” Qin Xia remarked, tracing the shimmering, faded pattern with his sharp eyes.

“Mhm. The array formation was originally set up to prevent the ancient tree from escaping.” Yu Qi stated. “However, when we first came over, the tree forced itself to break through the boundary. That was actually how we ended up encountering it in the first place.”

“Hmm… No wonder that tree looked so remarkably weak when I saw it.” Qin Xia commented, his brows knitting slightly.

“We will probably need to analyse and study this array formation first before we can open this door safely.” Yu Qi suggested.

“No need. I have already cracked it.” Qin Xia said nonchalantly.

Yu Qi looked at him in total surprise.

“What?! Really? Already?” Yu Qi asked, her eyes lighting up excitedly.

“Mhm…” Qin Xia nodded with a faint smile. “Stand back a minute. I will unlock the door now.”

Yu Qi and Long Hui immediately stepped back, giving Qin Xia ample space to work his magic.

Qin Xia casually placed his palm against the central node of the pattern. The glowing lines flared with a brief, brilliant burst of light for a single second before fading away completely. The complex, protective array formation seemed to lose its power and disintegrate in an instant.

With a smooth motion, Qin Xia reached out and pushed the heavy door open himself.

The three of them stepped into the chamber.

It was pitch-black inside. Even so, all three of them possessed exceptional vision that allowed them to see clearly through the dense darkness. The massive room stood completely hollow and silent now that the ancient tree was no longer there. Not a single trace remained behind to indicate that such a colossal, ancient lifeform had once occupied the very centre of the space.

Maintaining a high level of vigilance, the three moved deeper into the cavernous room.

A minute later, all three of them suddenly tensed up as the door to an inner secondary room swung open with a soft click.

They immediately shifted their full attention toward the fresh opening.

A stern, middle-aged man stepped out from the inner room. He looked around the vast chamber cautiously, his eyes scanning the shadow-draped corners. They could clearly read the subtle confusion written across his face. He had clearly sensed the outer array breaking and the door opening, yet he couldn’t see a single soul standing inside the empty room.

As the anomaly registered, his expression turned deeply serious. He instinctively reached into his robe to grab a communication device, intending to call for external security reinforcement immediately.

However, Long Hui acted far faster. With lightning speed, he deployed a powerful isolation array, instantly sealing the entire chamber and completely severing all communication channels to the outside world.

The middle-aged man felt the sudden atmospheric shift immediately. His expression changed dramatically as he realised he could no longer sense the energetic connection between this chamber and the outside facility.

“Who is there?! Show yourselves!” The middle-aged man bellowed, his voice echoing off the concrete walls as he recognised the sudden isolation spell.

‘Aoi, deactivate the invisibility mode.’ Yu Qi instructed Aoi telepathically.

Aoi immediately executed her command.

In the next second, the figures of Yu Qi, Long Hui, and Qin Xia materialised out of thin air directly in front of the middle-aged man.

The sudden, miraculous appearance of three people startled him immensely. His eyes widened in shock as he took several hurried steps backwards to create distance.

“You must be the infamous Master Liang. It is really hard to see you.” Yu Qi stated calmly, stepping forward once they were face-to-face.

“Who are you, people?” Master Liang demanded, scanning them with a sharp, guarded gaze.

He scoffed softly under his breath as his eyes swept over Yu Qi and Long Hui. He could not detect even a single droplet of spiritual cultivation power emanating from either of them. To his eyes, they appeared to be nothing more than ordinary, powerless human beings. His gaze then shifted over to rest on Qin Xia.

Ah, it must be this man standing beside them who possesses true cultivation power, Master Liang reasoned internally. After all, he was the one capable of casting an isolation array strong enough to completely disconnect this room from the external world.

However, the very moment Master Liang got a clear look at Qin Xia’s features, his arrogant expression shattered instantly. His entire body stiffened, a wave of sheer disbelief washing over him.

“Y-You… You… You are…!” Master Liang stammered, pointing a trembling finger straight at Qin Xia.

“Oh? It seems you actually recognise me.” Qin Xia chuckled dryly, watching with amused eyes as Master Liang slowly put the pieces together.

“The… The Ancestor! What are you doing here?” Master Liang gasped out, his voice shaking.

Panic seized Master Liang’s heart. It was truly ‘The Ancestor’. The legendary, supreme entity who governed the entire cultivation world!

What on earth was such an almighty figure doing here in a mundane realm? Why would he be standing in a hidden subterranean laboratory like this?
