Chapter 297: Danny’s Place
Chapter 297: Danny’s Place
Now that he had the location in hand, Adam didn’t bother wasting any more time.
He walks back to his room, grabs his keys, and heads out.
Entering his car, he puts the location on his GPS and begins driving.
The location that Danny sent him belongs to the southeast side of the city, the part of the city inhabited by the ultra-rich.
You at least have to be a billionaire to afford a house here, or at least be close enough to one that they would recommend you stay here.
From his knowledge, the few public figures that live in this part of the city are all extremely rich actors and musicians who have a billion-dollar net worth or close to it, and the other group is your average tech billionaire or owners of massive conglomerations.
William Coronant is one of those, a majority shareholder of the Coronant empire, and Danny is his only son. A friend like Danny is hard to come by.
Adam, of course, doesn’t think Danny is a legit friend whom he can trust. In fact, there isn’t anyone that Adam can blindly trust. The only reason he wants to foster this friendship with Danny is that powerful friends are important if you want to be powerful.
Adam doesn’t just want to be an athletic freak who can do everything; no, he wants to have everything a man should to be untouchable, which includes money, fame, and power.
His path to fame is set with his MMA career on the horizon, his path towards acquiring stupid generation wealth is also going perfectly with his business endeavors, and the illegal racing he is about to participate in.
Finally comes the power, and for power, one needs connections with powerful people, and that too is going strong with him building connections with billionaires, Margarette being one, and now Danny.
His path is set, Adam just needs to walk on it without being distracted by things that could jeopardize it.
Exiting the highway, Adam soon enters the locality he is supposed to be in. As soon as Adam crosses a few lines, it feels as if he entered a completely different world because everything past those few streets seems so different.
The air here is extremely clear and fresh, and the reason behind it is those massive air filters that seem to be everywhere. On top of that, there is greenery everywhere, trees that are not native to this country, but are planted here to act as decorations while also providing fresh air.
The roads are very wide for a residential area, wide enough to be considered a highway, but there is barely any traffic, as the only people who drive around here are its residents.
After all, why does a business have an average person here?
As Adam drives through, even he feels a little poor. Mind you, that he himself lives in a rich locality filled with mansions, home to millionaires.
But the difference between a millionaire and a billionaire is massive, and Adam is witnessing it with his own eyes.
Every residence he drives past looks like a modern royal palace, and the massive amount of land that a single one of these buildings occupies is enough for large malls to be established.
’I need to buy myself a house here,’ Adam thinks. Not because he needs it, but because it carries a message.
To live in this part of the city means to become part of the very elite. To join a social club that’s only exclusive to people who live above the law. And even though Adam hates this vain practice, he knows it’s the only way to become untouchable.
’If I am not mistaken, Margarette’s family also lives here,’ Adam thinks. He doesn’t know if Margarette personally lives here, but since she’s a part of Angelos’ family, they definitely have a residence here under their name, maybe more than one eve, Adam won’t doubt it, after all, Angelos are a huge deal, just like the Coronant.
Soon, Adam arrives at his destination. He slows down his car and drives towards the massive black gate that leads to a massive mansion.
He stops his car right outside and rolls down his window. A man wearing a black suit, dark sunglasses, and an earpiece walks up to Adam’s car and looks at Adam.
Adam meets the man’s stare through his glasses. The man’s clearly one of the many security guards hired by the Coronants. He doesn’t speak immediately; instead, he takes his time looking inside Adam’s car before speaking.
"Who are you, and state your business?" The man says in his deep, authoritative voice.
Adam takes a good look at the man. Seems to be in his late forties, probably ex-military given his stance and posture, also a visible scar on his face, looks like wounds suffered from a knife attack.
"Name’s Adam, I am Danny’s friend. Came to meet him," Adam says.
The guard frowns but doesn’t say anything. Instead, he takes a step back, presses his earpiece with his finger while keeping his other hand on his gun, ready to take action if necessary. He then speaks with someone through his intercom.
A few seconds later, he gets his answer. He looks at Adam and opens his mouth.
"You can enter," He says and singles one of the guards on the other side of the gate to open it.
The massive gate begins to move, opening up for Adam to enter. Adam smiles at the guard and drives in.
As he drives through the driveway, Adam once again feels he has entered a different world because everything here is so lavish and large.
He finally stops, parking his simple sports car behind an extremely expensive-looking sedan.
He steps out and checks out the car before him. ’This one’s at least five million,’ Adam thinks before walking towards the massive mansion.
Before he could even put his foot on the steps leading up to the mansion, the mansion’s massive door opened, and out walked Danny with a big smile on his face.
"Dude! You are finally here! I have been waiting!" He says, rushing towards Adam.
Danny looks the same Adam saw his last time, as average as he can be, of course, the clothes he has on right now are far simpler compared to the ones Adam saw him in before, but given how rich Danny is, Adam won’t be surprised if these simple clothes he has on costs more than Adam’s entire wardrobe, which in its own is also very expensive.
Danny starts moving his hand towards Adam, in an attempt to dab him up. Seeing this, seeing this, Adam doesn’t hesitate to reciprocate; after all, he is trying to be Danny’s friend. He can’t leave Danny hanging and embarrass him.
No matter how much of an awkward case Danny might be, Adam will have to stay on edge around him because he doesn’t know Danny very well; he needs to learn more about Danny, his attitude, his views, and his behavior, and then start opening up.
To Adam, Danny’s not just some guy he wants to befriend; Danny’s a very important ladder that’s going to help him achieve a higher status.
As their hands are about to meet, Adam makes sure it’s perfect. The dab happens, and the clap is loud and sharp.
"That was perfect," Danny says, grinning.
"It was, indeed," Adam says, smiling back. A fake one, but one practiced to perfection, so that it can’t be differentiated from a real one
"Let’s go in!" Danny says and guides Adam into his residence.
As soon as Adam enters, his mind is blown. Everything in Danny’s mansion is at least four times bigger than whatever Adam has in his house.
The paintings, the art collections, everything looks more expensive than the other.
"Let’s go to my room," Danny says and guides Adam towards his room.
On their way towards Danny’s room, Adam sees multiple people, all of them servants of the house in their uniforms, working.
When they noticed Danny’s presence, they immediately bowed their heads and stood in silence until Danny was out of their sight.
Adam took notice of this, but didn’t think much of it.
They soon arrive at Danny’s room, opening the door and walking in. Adam was blown away again because of how big Danny’s room is.
It’s five times bigger than Adam’s room, and he seems to have everything he needs right where he wants.
A big ass gaming setup with a custom theme, his monitor seems to be custom-made as well, as Adam couldn’t recall anything like this being on the market.
His bed was massive too, a little too big for an average guy like Danny.
He also had a massive showcase filled with all kinds of collectibles, from superhero models of all scales, to game characters to anime figurines.
A whole section of his room seems to be dedicated to vintage gaming devices, with a massive collection of old games that Adam has only heard of.
And even with everything that Danny has in his room, the room still feels spacious.
Adam realizes that Danny’s a massive nerd and a geek, and he can use this to his advantage to build a stronger connection with Danny.
"What kinds of games do you play?" Danny suddenly asks.
"All kinds," Adam answers without hesitation. After all, he doesn’t know what Danny’s actual taste is, so it’s better to be vague.
"Great, that means there is more for us to enjoy. I have everything you need, from vintage to the latest AAA games. So where do you want to start?" Danny asks.
Adam looks at him and smiles.
He walks up to the game he is most familiar with and pulls it out to show Danny.
"Let’s start with this," Adam says.
