Chapter 355: Hierarchy

As soon as Adam and Isla stepped into the main room, every eye fell on them, and it couldn’t be helped.

After all, individually, they are already good-looking enough to be the center of attention in every room they step foot in, but now they are walking in together, hand in hand, looking like the most visually perfect couple.

Being the center of attention was very normal to both of them, so when they felt every eye in the room on them, they didn’t care. Instead, Adam made his way directly towards Leila with Isla in his hand.

Leila was standing in the corner with a glass of wine in her hand. She is clearly not a fan of crowded places, so she isn’t a fan of this party, but she came anyway, given what it is for.

Next to her stood Cassie, who held a virgin margarita in her hand, being performative as always. In private, she has no problem drinking alcohol, but out in public and in front of others, she continues to keep her pure image.

If people who know her knew how degenerate she can get, they would never be able to trust anyone ever again, given how deeply she has manipulated them.

As the two girls stand side by side, watching the crowd, they notice the volume rising as people around them seem to have fixed their focus on the newcomers.

Curious, they turn and look only to be surprised by who they see. It’s Adam walking alongside an extremely beautiful girl.

For a second, the girls struggle to realize who this girl is, but as they watch Adam and the girl get closer, it clicks.

The girl who is walking arm in arm with Adam is none other than Isla, the lead singer of Velvet Arcadia. This girl with her band had walked into the restaurant some time ago, and now she is here, walking with her hands around Adam’s arm, looking like a real couple.

Leila’s eyes widen as she tries to process what she is looking at, while Cassie’s shoot up with amusement. Knowing what she knows about Adam and seeing the closeness between him and Isla, Cassie can already tell that the two have crossed all the boundaries.

She gives Leila a side eye and thinks about how she could use this to her advantage. After all, to get to Adam, she needs Leila’s approval, but Leila has been a tough cookie to crack.

Even with all the manipulation and scheming, she still hasn’t been able to convince Leila to talk to Adam about involving her in their relationship.

Adam stops before the girls and smiles at them. His focus mainly on Leila. He doesn’t bother giving Cassie the attention she so desperately wants from him.

And even though Cassie doesn’t show it on her face, given how perfect her mask is, Adam knows for a fact that it irks her whenever Adam doesn’t give her the attention she thinks she deserves from him.

"Isla, this is Leila and Cassie, my former coworkers, and now employees," Adam says

"Hi, nice to meet you," Isla greets them with a smile.

Leila, being the introvert that she is, only nods her head while Cassie does what she is very good at, playing the bubbly, bright girl.

"Oh my god~ I can’t believe Isla is here~ I am a huge fan. Last time I wanted to talk to you so badly, but I was too nervous to approach," Cassie says, putting on the brightest smile.

She is so good at this that she even manages to fool Isla’s sharp eyes. She is genuinely happy to see a fan in Cassie, so she smiles back pleasantly in return. "Thank you for being a fan. If not for fans like you supporting us, we wouldn’t be where we are," Isla says, speaking as the whole group rather than an individual.

Even in private, she makes sure to give credit to her entire band.

"Please~ You guys are amazing~ Anyone would become a fan once they listen to your music," Cassie says, still maintaining the act.

Adam, like always, is extremely impressed by Cassie’s acting. If not for his awareness of her true nature, even he would be fooled by Cassie right now, given how genuine she sounds.

"So, Isla, what brings you here, and that to along with Adam... Oops, from now on I have to call you, boss, don’t I?" Cassie says, smiling like a ditzy.

"Yes, from now on, you will have to address me with honor, but only you. Leila can call me whatever she wants," Adam says, meeting Leila’s eyes, hinting at her about the night he spent with her and how she couldn’t stop addressing him as her master.

Leila blushed as the memories of that night were still fresh inside her. Just thinking about it makes her pussy wet, and it’s happening this very moment because of his words.

Isla notices Leila’s reaction and immediately clocks what kind of relationship Adam has with Leila, but Cassie, she has no clue.

Cassie is clearly very pretty, and given her bubbly, bright presence, she is definitely someone Adam should be interested in, but from the way she heard him speak to her, it doesn’t seem anything is going on between them.

"As for why Isla’s accompanying me. Well, she and I are now in a relationship. She’s my girlfriend," Adam says, not bothering to hide who she is from Leila.

Leila’s eyes shoot wide open, hearing Adam mention Isla as his girlfriend. From everything she knows about Adam, he is a playboy through and through. He has multiple women as his lovers, and she is one of them. So, given how many lovers he has, for him to introduce Isla as his girlfriend, she must clearly be someone special.

Leila begins staring at Isla, intensely, trying to understand what’s so special about Isla that qualifies her to be given the position of Adam’s girlfriend.

Adam can see the gears turning inside Leila’s head, but he doesn’t stop her from overthinking it. He is going to let Isla handle the consequence.

Since she is his first and prime girlfriend, she is also now responsible for maintaining the status quo and structure of his harem.

He wants to see how Isla will deal with one of his lovers.

Cassie, too, is stunned by hearing Adam’s words. She, too, knows Adam’s nature very well. He is not someone who is satisfied with just one woman in his life, so for him to go out of his way and introduce Isla as his girlfriend, he is clearly establishing a hierarchy amongst his women.

She looks at Leila to read her reaction, and seeing that complex look on Leila’s face, Cassie lets a quick smirk slip through her mask.

She is delighted by this development as she is going to make sure to use this to her advantage.

Isla notices the shift in Leila’s attitude. She went from a closed-off, shy introverted girl to someone who is staring back at her as if she is a threat.

Isla continues to keep smiling. She realizes why Adam said she would find this interaction interesting.

On one hand, she has Leila, who is clearly one of Adam’s many lovers, and now, because of Adam’s bold declaration, he has made clear to Leila that she is below her, so such a reaction from her is expected.

On the other hand is Cassie, who is still a mystery to Isla. She sees that Cassie doesn’t seem really bothered by the idea of her being Adam’s girlfriend, so what could be the reason for Adam mentioning her before he introduced her?

"You girls continue with whatever you were doing before, while Isla and I talk to others," Adam says and drags Isla away with him, leaving Leila and Cassie to talk to themselves.

After creating some distance, Adam meets Isla’s gaze with a smile.

"So, what do you think?" Adam asks.

"They are both very pretty," Isla says.

"Come on, I know you noticed more than that," Adam says with a chuckle.

"Fine. Leila... she really likes you. In fact, I think she loves you. I could see it in her eyes, the way she looks at you. She also seems jealous of the fact that you called me your girlfriend," Isla says.

"So, how are you going to deal with it?" Adam asks.

"Deal with what?" Isla asks.

"You are my girlfriend, that means you’re standing amongst all my lovers, which is the highest. So you will clearly be subjected to their envy and jealousy, so what are you going to do about it?" Adam asks.

Isla stays silent for a second before giving a confident smile to Adam.

"What’s there to think about? I am going to make sure that they know their place," Isla says, sounding like an authoritarian.

Adam chuckled. He expected nothing less from Isla.

"And what about Cassie?" Adam asks.

"Her? I don’t know. She looks nice and friendly, but she didn’t seem bothered by my status, so I don’t think there is anything going on between you two," Isla says.

Adam chuckles, hearing this.

"Looks like she managed to fool you," Adam says.

"Fool me? How?" Isla asks as she turns her head to look at Cassie, only to see her whispering something into Leila’s ears, making Leila frown.

"That girl is the fakest person I have ever met in my life, but she is also an exceptional actress. Who you saw... The person you talked to just now is only a mask that she puts over her real self to portray herself in an extremely positive light to others.

But on the inside, that girl is one depraved bitch," Adam says.

Isla’s eyes widen. She can’t believe what she is hearing. From her initial exchange with Cassie, she thought Cassie was just a bright, bubbly girl, but now Adam is saying otherwise.

Knowing what Isla was about to ask, Adam spoke before she could: "Don’t get fooled by that smile. Lying comes to her as naturally as breathing. Even I can’t tell sometimes," Adam says.

"What’s so depraved about her?" Isla asks.

"Everything," Adam says.
