Chapter 2057: Against The Demonic Alchemy Spirit
Chapter 2057: Against The Demonic Alchemy Spirit
-----
Although we had resolved the issue with Beelzebub’s evolution going awry—by using Alchemy to synthesize his dying body with the essences and energies of all the other familiars and my own—something happened that shocked us to the core. A giant tree emerged from the cauldron: a deadly Alchemy Spirit.
This entity embodied the accumulated resentment, hatred, and grief Beelzebub harbored toward humans. It was a true Alchemy Spirit forged from the agony of the life he had lived and all the horrors he had endured.
There was nothing left to do but fight it with our own hands. This Alchemy Spirit had to be defeated at all costs, and quickly, so Beelzebub could finally evolve safely.
"Let’s go!"
We charged together toward the colossal demonic spirit tree. Yggdra smashed it with her fists, unleashing explosions of sacred divine spirit flames while fiery trees sprouted from every wound she inflicted. The demon tree retaliated with beams of demonic energy and volleys of miasmic fruits that exploded against Yggdra, weakening her slightly.
Yet Yggdra healed herself continuously, holding the creature back and preventing further destruction. We rushed in and joined the assault. Dodging branches and beams, I swung Scarlet with all my strength, slicing through dozens of massive limbs. An eye materialized on the wood before me. I hurled Scarlet straight into it, piercing the eye and driving deep into the tree’s body.
CRAAASH!
At the same moment, Aquarina struck the same spot with her fists. Thunder, fire, water, darkness, and stone fused into a titanic chaotic attack, forming a massive fist that tore through the wound I had created and ripped the tree apart.
BOOOOMMM!!!
The tree resisted, roaring furiously as it rapidly regenerated even while beginning to topple. In that instant, Ignatius descended, unleashing his strongest dragon breath. Naturia spread holy spirit woods that radiated divinity, swiftly purifying the tree’s miasmic power and burning it in sacred agony. Furoh, shockingly, copied Yggdrasil’s form, transforming into another giantess and pummeling the tree with his many burning wooden fists.
All the other spirits unified under me, fusing with my body and granting me even greater power. I surged toward the tree, slashing its massive form with several swings of Scarlet and unleashing the new sword techniques I had recently mastered.
"Don’t stop! Keep going—we’re almost there!" I roared, attacking with everything I had.
"Yeah! We’re almost there! Don’t give up!" Aquarina screamed. Her aura surged, forming giant elemental dragons that slammed into the tree in a barrage of explosions.
"I suppose I should help too," Nephilim said with a gentle smile, merging demonic and divine powers within herself. "Eclipsing Demon Spear – Death Destruction!"
A colossal spear of eclipsing demonic and godly energy manifested, piercing the giant demonic spirit tree in one devastating strike and carving a titanic hole through it.
Everyone else immediately attacked the wound’s interior, tearing the tree apart more and more until it began to falter and die. Its broken pieces fell into the massive cauldron, feeding Beelzebub’s evolution.
"We’re almost there!"
We dodged more branches and lasers as endless spectral curses rushed toward us. I shielded everyone with my Yggdragon Aura of the Holy Element and called Red to fuse with me, granting powerful resistance to demonic magic.
At the same time, I summoned Alice, whose divine powers were vital, and fused her with Ignatius once more. He transformed into his Holy Dragon form, shimmering with golden scales.
"HAHAHAHA! NOW THIS IS IT!"
Ignatius laughed wildly, opened his jaws, and fired a titanic beam of holy flames that tore through the entire tree and blasted it to smithereens.
BOOOOMMM!!!
The tree collapsed into countless fragments. The Alchemy Cauldron rapidly absorbed them. Yet the spirit was not fully dead—roughly a third of the tree still clung to life, spreading into endless vines covered in sharp, stinging spikes.
"Damn thing, just die already!" Beelzebub roared. His demonic power surged as thousands of giant hands made of darkness—something we had never seen before—grabbed the tree and shoved it into the cauldron.
We kept attacking relentlessly until the tree began cracking apart. Its death was imminent.
We had won.
...
"Just when I thought I needed more strength, you summon such a precious being. Allow me to have it."
"...?!"
A voice echoed from the skies. Our eyes snapped toward it as a massive, corrupted divine and spiritual entity emerged, staring down at us.
At the same time, another being charged from the left: a titanic treant of darkness and miasmic crystals, its body covered in dark, rotting wood.
"FOR DARING TO KILL MY HUSBAND, YOU WILL DIE!!!"
The scream belonged to a woman. We realized instantly that this was the second boss of the dungeon—the Infernal Treant Queen. She smashed into our formation, shattering it and hurling Yggdra and the others aside with her enormous body.
Simultaneously, the entity in the sky unleashed a zap of energy that destroyed my Soul Cauldron and burned Beelzebub to a crisp. The dying demonic spirit tree was instantly rejuvenated, growing back to its full massive size and taking on a more treant-like appearance.
"HAHAHAHAHAHA! YOUR JUDGMENT IS UPON YOU, HUMANS! YOU WILL PAY FOR WHAT YOU DID TO THE DEMONS!"
Endless demonic specters surged from its body, as though it had been forged from the collective grief of the entire demon race. My eyes widened in disbelief as I screamed.
"BEELZEBUB!"
I tried to reach Beelzebub, but a figure suddenly warped space in front of me. A surge of imminent danger gripped me. Before I could react, a power immobilized me completely.
CRASH!
"Gaaaaghh?!"
A hand made of glass pierced my heart, tearing my spirit heart from my chest.
"Hm, so this is the troublemaker? So weak. My master shouldn’t have even bothered giving me upgrades to deal with such an insignificant being."
CRASH!
My Spiritual Heart shattered. At the same moment, my connection with Alice went almost completely blank. My body convulsed in agony as crimson circuits spread across me.
"Aaaaggh!"
I could do nothing but scream in utter agony and despair, tortured by an attack I could never have imagined.
