Chapter 2072: What’s Happening To Sylphy?!

"It’s fine," Zephyrus shrugged. "I’ve met Grandma a few times before, and she’s... uh, she’s okay. I think fairies are just different. They have a very detached way of thinking and tend to obsess over small things to cling to something meaningful. I believe it’s because of their lives. They’re the only race in the world known to be entirely immortal, right? They don’t have lifespans at all. Even elves eventually die of old age, which gives their lives meaning. But fairies live for eternity, and that tends to mess with their heads in strange ways. That’s why I’ve heard they become ’simple-minded’ and ’detached,’ even though that’s not how they truly are. It’s a side effect."
"So you’re saying fairies become dumber the longer they live because they get headaches from living too long?" Celeste asked, raising an eyebrow. "Isn’t that Alzheimer’s?"
"No, they don’t lose their memories. Fairies are flawless beings," Zephyrus said with confidence. "But that’s also why they suffer in silence. Grandmother has changed over the years, thanks to all of us. She’s opening her heart and has stopped being so superficial. I think what happened back then, when we were attacked by demons, must have helped her open her eyes. She’s also an Ancient Saintess—stronger than all of us combined—but she hardly ever uses her powers. She’s afraid of them, I think."
"Afraid..." Ruby muttered. "Well, this is all really interesting, but what does it have to do with Sylphy? She’s my friend, so I’m genuinely worried about her. Lara, any clues?"
"She’s fighting," Lara said. "But she feels even stronger now? It’s like she has undergone some kind of evolution—Ooooh! I get it! She has awakened her Fairy Bloodline! Oh wow! No, wait—this is even better?! W-What is she doing?! Huh?! Hah?! Eeeeeeeeeeeehhhh?!"
Lara’s expressions shifted rapidly as she observed Sylphy through her Divine Saintess Authority over Spirits. She realized Sylphy’s existence was constantly shifting and changing.
"W-What’s wrong?!" Celeste asked worriedly.
"Is she dying or something?!" Zephyrus cried. "I knew it!"
"Wait!" Lara stopped them, thrusting her palm forward. "Wait a second!!!"
"...?"

"Calm down," Lara said. "Everyone, calm down!!!"
She was the only one panicking and screaming. She had grown incredibly excited after witnessing what Sylphy was doing—and what she was becoming.
"T-This is huge!" she exclaimed. "I think Sylphy might be evolving into a completely new entity! And yet... she’s still the same? Wow...! No, wait, this is...! It’s so confusing but so exciting! I have never seen a Spirit like this before!"
Celeste facepalmed. "I knew it. It’s all because she’s a spirit. You’re such a pervert when it comes to them."
"P-Pervert?!" Lara gasped. "H-How can you say something so mean! I was saying that Sylphy had damaged or lost her Spirit Heart, which severely weakened her spiritual power. But she has regained it! She has attained perfect control over her own Spirit Body. What’s more, she has begun to manipulate it..."
"Um, okay, but what are Spirit Bodies anyway?" Celica asked. "Are they like my phantasmal aura?"
"Kind of," Lara nodded. "But they’re also different. I believe they relate to a Spirit Race’s own ’True Body’ and ’True Form.’ Among them, Celestials, Fairies, and Dragons are the only races born with Spirit Bodies. Elves possess Spirit Hearts and Spirit Souls to a lesser degree, but Spirit Bodies are far superior. They allow these races to reshape their bodies and souls together, changing their very nature."
"?!"
"Sylphy has not only harnessed this power—she’s fusing it with her divinity to create something completely new and shocking!" Lara said, her voice trembling with excitement. "And she’s evolving... wow, she must have gone through so much. Now that I think about it, she might be in danger."
"SEE?! WHAT DID WE TELL YOU?!" the others shouted angrily. Lara giggled nervously.
"H-Hehehe, sorry..." She fidgeted with her hair. "Let’s go help her!"
"Then let’s move!" Zephyrus nodded. He spread his wings, flaring his aura into a giant golden phoenix that carried everyone along. "Let’s go!"
RUMBLE!
As they sped forward, Zephyrus quickly reviewed the available maps.
The Burning Forest Dungeon. (Sylphy and Aquarina. Moving here.)
The Poison Swamp Dungeon. (Still Cursed.)
The Stone Cathedral Dungeon. (Just cleared. Free of all Curses.)
The Insect Nest Dungeon. (Still Cursed.)
The Giant Beast Dungeon. (Still Cursed.)
The Underwater Abyss Dungeon. (Cleared by the Heroes. Free of all Curses.)
The Volcanic Hellscape Dungeon. (Cleared by the Heroes. Free of all Curses.)
The Aberrant Jungle Dungeon. (Mom, Dad, and the Heroes are here! Likely already cleansed by now.)
The Underground Tower Dungeon. (Still Cursed.)
The Dragon Tomb Dungeon. (Still Cursed. Origin of the Curse.)
Five cursed dungeons remained if the Aberrant Jungle had already been cleansed. Zephyrus hesitated for a moment. Should he search for his parents first, or go after his sister?
The answer came crashing down before he could decide. The entire dungeon trembled violently.
"Huh?!"
RUMBLE!
A massive surge of curse energy began manifesting in one area. Everyone froze as they watched a giant puddle of miasma twist and come alive.
"Is that the curse?!" Celeste asked.
"Wait, wasn’t some of it still left?" Mist wondered.
"Yeah, but it was already fading and dying! How is it coming back to life?!" Zephyrus asked in disbelief. "This is too strange! We have to—"
"You little shits. You think I haven’t forgotten about you?"
A sinister, monstrous voice echoed throughout the dungeon. In seconds, the black miasma transformed into a pure black void as spiderwebs spread across the walls. The entire party gasped as a tyrannical, divine presence surged forth, slamming into Zephyrus. His golden aura held firm, shielding everyone, even as the darkness relentlessly drained at his life and soul. Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth.
"Hoh, quite sturdy, aren’t you? You did well clearing this place. I can barely exert my authority here... but it’s still enough to kill you and devour your souls!"
RUMBLE!
From the shadows emerged a colossal abomination—countless red eyes, giant spider legs, and massive dragon heads covered in purple and black scales—its roars shaking the dungeon.
