Reincarnated With A Glitched System: Why Is My MP Not Running Out?

Chapter 2170: Entering The Dungeon

Chapter 2170: Entering The Dungeon

-----

After hearing my theory about what the Dungeon God had been doing, Ignatius nodded understandably, his expression growing more serious as he processed the implications.

"Yeah," said Ignatius. "I suppose you’re not wrong with that. It all lines up too well with everything we’ve seen so far."

"Indeed," Yggdra nodded. As someone connected to the dungeons I had absorbed, she also had a few important things to say. "The Dungeons are an extension of his will, but with Sylphy we can take away these fragments of his authority. He probably feels very threatened right now, even though he hasn’t said it out loud. There’s a clear reason why he pressed the panic button and sent Dimenion after us out of nowhere... and he almost succeeded in defeating us. We were really not prepared for a foe of such a high level of power. But it showed us just how far we still were from the pinnacle we have been striving for. We must grow stronger, everyone. There is no other choice left."

"Your tree is right," said Zack, his usual laid-back tone replaced by firm determination. "Even after all our training, I feel I ain’t strong enough yet. We gotta keep growing and growing without stopping. Back then I would have refused or given the cold shoulder, but right now? I couldn’t care less about the difficulty. If we’re going against a god, then we’ll kill a god. Simple as that."

"Damn right," Luck nodded, crossing his arms tightly. His eyes burned with quiet resolve. "We’ve come too far to back down now."

"I’m in! He tried to kill Sylphy, all of us!" Mist said, her voice rising with clear anger. "I won’t forgive him for that. Not after everything he’s already put us through."

"I guess he’s really our greatest enemy, but we were not even aware until recently," said my grandfather, his expression heavy with reflection. "It is truly ironic. Our Empire subsists on the dungeons as well... It’s honestly terrifying when you think about it. It’s as if he had taken control of the entire world and people’s own economy with his dungeons. And now that he knows we cannot live without them, he has begun to reveal his true colors. Acting like he was just a watcher, or perhaps not even existing at all back then... it was all an act. He was simply waiting for the right moment."

"His goals are also quite clear after what Dimenion said," I continued, feeling the weight of the truth settle over the group. "He tried to take my source of Endless Mana to fuel a gigantic thing, some sort of piece of ancient god technology. He wants to use it to attack not only the gods above, but he’s also aiming for the planet’s core itself. He wants to destroy this world and absorb whatever power lies hidden in the core..."

A heavy silence fell over everyone for a moment as the full scope of the threat sank in. The Dungeon God was no longer just a distant manipulator. He was an active, calculating enemy who had been preparing this plan for longer than any of us had realized. The near-death battle against Dimenion had only been the beginning. If we wanted any chance of stopping him, every single one of us would need to push far beyond our current limits.

The determination in the air grew stronger. No one looked away. No one suggested retreat. We had been forced to confront just how small we still were in the face of a true god’s power, and that realization only fueled our resolve to close that gap as quickly as possible.

"...!"

Those who did not already know were taken aback by such terrifying news. Several faces grew pale, and a heavy silence fell over the group for a moment. My mother, however, simply nodded. She had already known about those plans for some time.

"It is indeed a terrifying plan," she said quietly. "But I am glad he could not succeed in taking that power from you. Or... it would have truly been the end of us."

"But why couldn’t he take it?" wondered Celica, her voice soft with curiosity. "Oh, sorry... did I sound a little too rude...?"

"No, it’s fine," I answered. "He couldn’t take it because it is not a physical object. It is just me. How I exist. My very soul. He cannot take it without completely destroying me. Dimenion foolishly thought that power was something he could seize as he wished, even though that power was simply my own existence."

"So his next step would be... kidnapping you?" my brother asked, frowning deeply.

"Hah! He cannot kidnap me," I smiled with quiet confidence. "I’ve grown strong enough now. If he tries to kidnap me through space or any other method, he’ll see a sword coming for him, and then I’ll simply step out of his authority. I can also kind of... well, force my way through space to an extent."

"Hmm, that overconfidence could also be your demise," said my grandfather, his tone calm but serious. "But it is true that it would be quite absurd to attempt kidnapping someone of your caliber, my granddaughter. Nevertheless, I believe we have already talked more than we should. The Dungeon ahead of us is where I have sealed Lolth. The power of the Evil God of Dungeons could also manifest there. We do not know what other dangers await inside, so we must enter with caution."

He walked forward and placed his palm against the massive, sealed door. After a moment he looked back at all of us.

"Are you prepared?"

We all nodded, adjusting our weapons and reinforcing our defenses. The atmosphere grew tense and focused. He nodded in response, satisfied with our readiness.

"Unseal."

FLAAASH!

Thousands of sealing runes across the door lit up and then shattered one after another. A deep pressure of darkness and curses immediately poured out from the opening gates, thick and heavy like a living fog.

Nephilim stepped in front of us at once, forming a strong barrier of pure light. My mother, Mist, and Lara quickly did the same, layering additional protective barriers around the group to shield us from the cursed energies flooding outward.

I took on my Weredragon form again, scales spreading across my body as power surged through me. I stepped forward beside my grandfather. My parents followed closely behind, my brother watched our backs, and Aquarina stayed firmly at my side.

What greeted us beyond the gates was no fancy temple or grand hall. Instead, an endless, pitch-black cave stretched out before us, its walls glistening with faint traces of cursed energy.

Once our entire group — a literal little army — had entered, my father turned back and closed the gate. Together with my grandfather, he carefully resealed it with powerful runes.

It was the right decision. We could not afford to let anything from inside this dungeon escape into the outside world.

The heavy doors shut behind us with a deep, echoing thud, sealing us inside the darkness with whatever awaited ahead.
