Chapter 485: MANA VS ENERGY II
Chapter 485: MANA VS ENERGY II
"Cocky for your own good," X informed Aaron, his mechanical voice laced with faint amusement.
He tapped the armrest of his throne with deliberate precision.
The massive structure hummed to life, surging forward through a suddenly generated wormhole that shimmered like fractured glass in the void.
In an instant, X reappeared directly behind Aaron.
Without hesitation, he fired an atomic blaster point-blank, the barrel glowing with ominous red energy.
Aaron spun around quickly, his movements fluid and instinctive.
Shadows coiled around his hand as he created a swirling black hole from pure darkness, its gravitational pull devouring the incoming atomic blast whole.
As quickly as possible, he severed the shadow from his body.
With a forceful hurl, he sent it spiraling away into the endless expanse.
An instant later, the wormhole collapsed in on itself with a deafening explosion.
The atomic energy proved too volatile to contain fully, it had only been delayed, not stopped.
Shrapnel of warped space scattered outward like deadly confetti.
X didn’t relent. He gave Aaron no chance to catch his breath, pressing the assault relentlessly.
His throne unleashed a massive quantum shockwave.
The invisible force ripped through the fabric of space and time itself, distorting reality in rippling waves of chaos.
The shockwave disrupted every spatial and temporal essence around it, rendering Aaron unable to manipulate them.
Cut off from his usual powers, Aaron improvised.
He wove a sturdy shield from swirling blood and inky shadows, the barrier pulsing with dark crimson veins.
The quantum shockwave tore through the shield like paper, slamming into Aaron with brutal force.
Pain exploded across his chest as the energy burned deep into his flesh.
Aaron was blasted backward through the void, tumbling end over end.
To steady himself, he increased his body’s weight density exponentially, anchoring his form until the endless drift halted.
The searing burn from the quantum blast healed almost instantly.
Fresh skin knit over the wound, smoother and tougher than before.
His new physique adapted seamlessly, its defenses sharpening with each assault.
Taking a deep breath to center himself, Aaron merged Black Sphere and White Sphere together.
The weapons fused in a blaze of contrasting energies, creating a single, formidable sword born from Dragon Forge and Excalibur.
The combined blade transformed dramatically.
The golden-black hilt of Dragon Forge intertwined with the holy white hilt of Excalibur, resulting in a sleek gray grip adorned with two dragons coiling around each other.
One dragon was an elegant Eastern serpent, long and shrouded in shadowy darkness.
The other resembled a fierce Western beast, pristine white and radiating cold authority.
The main blade consisted of wide, white edges etched with ancient inscriptions that glowed faintly.
Layered atop it was a thinner, secondary blade, its center inscribed with inscriptions that pulsed with restrained power.
The aura emanating from the sword surged several fold, filling the void with an oppressive weight that made the surrounding emptiness feel alive and tense.
"Flame of Ruin," Aaron muttered under his breath.
He charged forward once more, swinging the sword at the android still perched arrogantly on his throne.
The strike unleashed roaring flames forged from destructive dragon fire, blended seamlessly with purifying holy light.
The dual energies clashed and amplified each other in a spectacular display.
The result was deafening.
A colossal shockwave rippled outward through the void, warping distant stars and scattering cosmic dust.
X reacted swiftly.
He erected a quantum shield around himself, a barrier that nullified interference from any conceptual force.
It shimmered like a veil of distorted reality.
The collision between blade and shield unleashed even greater destruction.
Cracks spiderwebbed across the void, swallowing stray debris.
The shockwave obliterated every mechanical construct and lesser being in the surrounding universes.
Echoes of the blast reverberated endlessly.
Baal was forced to anchor himself forcefully, digging his essence into the fabric of space to avoid being flung backward like drifting wreckage.
Releasing his grip on the sword momentarily, Aaron let it drop into his other hand.
He shifted seamlessly into a stabbing thrust.
"Dragon’s Final Judgment," he muttered.
The tip of the blade morphed into the snarling faces of two intertwined dragons.
They roared with raw menace, their eyes glowing with feral hunger.
Using his mystic eyes to pierce through illusions, Aaron pinpointed the weakest segment of the shield.
He struck with pinpoint accuracy, driving the blade home.
The sword pierced the exact point, shattering the quantum shield like fragile glass.
Shards of energy dispersed harmlessly into the void.
X had already anticipated the breach through his rapid analysis.
He attempted to escape via another hastily created wormhole, the portal flickering open behind him.
But Aaron controlled the surrounding space with iron will.
He sealed off every possible wormhole, locking X in place with invisible chains of distorted reality.
The blade continued its path toward X’s face, unimpeded now that the shield lay in ruins.
"Nanites Shield," X activated his backup defense without missing a beat.
In an instant, countless tiny particles swarmed into existence before him.
They assembled rapidly, interlocking to form a dense, shimmering barrier.
The shield absorbed the thrust with a resounding clang.
Yet half of it disintegrated under the sheer force, blown apart into scattering motes.
The destroyed sections of the nanites shield began self-repairing immediately.
They reformed layer by layer, restoring full protection around X in seconds.
"Bastard," X cursed, his monotone voice edged with rare frustration.
He counterattacked without delay. "Quantum Snipe," he called out.
Boom!
Aaron tilted his head at the last moment, narrowly avoiding a direct hit to his skull.
A sniper shot erupted from nowhere, slamming into Aaron’s shoulder instead.
The impact blasted the joint apart in a spray of blood and shadow.
Aaron was sent hurtling away from X once more, spinning through the void.
The quantum snipe originated from an automated machine sniper stationed all the way back in X’s home universe.
It used X’s relayed location data to target Aaron with unerring precision.
Aaron hadn’t been caught unaware.
His enhanced eyes had foreseen the attack clearly.
He could have evaded it entirely if he wished, but he chose not to.
The reason was straightforward, he was still testing the limits of his new physique, pushing it to adapt and grow stronger.
His shattered shoulder regenerated swiftly, flesh and bone knitting back together in a matter of heartbeats.
As expected, his body’s defenses heightened further, becoming even more resilient.
Flexing his newly healed shoulder with a roll, Aaron void-stepped forward. Simultaneously, he time-stepped, merging the two abilities to appear right in front of X, but in the past, just before the quantum snipe had been called.
"Quantum Snipe," X commanded again. The shot fired true.
This time, Aaron didn’t dodge. He let the bullet strike his head cleanly, standing firm.
Bang!
The quantum projectile collided with Aaron’s forehead.
But the same devastating force that had once obliterated his shoulder now bounced off harmlessly. Not a single scratch marred his skin.
X frowned deeply, his mechanical features twisting in calculation.
He distanced himself from Aaron with a burst of thrust from his throne.
For the first time since the battle began, a temporary lull settled over the void.
And surprisingly, the break had been initiated by X himself.
