Chapter 539: ORIGIN REWARD

Chapter 539: ORIGIN REWARD

The doppelganger spun toward the sound, eyes widening in raw shock.

Far away, a skeletal figure stood untouched by fear.

Every scrap of flesh had been blasted from Aaron’s body.

Only his bare bones remained, gleaming white and pristine beneath the tower’s artificial light.

"The chaos physique needs a raise," Aaron said with a casual smile, rolling his bony shoulders as if nothing had happened.

The doppelganger snarled and gathered power for one last desperate attack.

But nothing came.

The explosion had torn its own soul apart from the inside.

It stood frozen, unable to move, unable to fight.

"Off you go now," Aaron said calmly.

Void stepped forward from the shadows, appearing directly in front of the helpless doppelganger.

With one brutal, fluid swing, he beheaded the clone.

The head tumbled across the floor and dissolved into golden particles.

The four-hundredth floor fell completely silent at last.

[Congratulations! You have conquered your Doppelganger.]

[You have the chance to pick an Origin reward of your choice.]

[Origin Bloodline]

[Origin Item]

[Origin Talent]

[Origin Summon]

Aaron stared at the glowing interface, arms crossed over his still-skeletal chest.

The choice was easy.

He didn’t even hesitate.

He selected the Origin Bloodline without a second thought.

Sure, he currently lacked an Origin talent.

But he could barely tap the full potential of his existing Transcendent talents anyway.

As for an Origin item, that was the dumbest choice he could imagine.

With how quickly his power skyrocketed these days, any artifact would turn worthless in no time at all.

Origin summon sounded tempting on the surface, but Aaron shook his head.

He preferred to be the one everyone feared, not the one hiding behind a summoned monster.

Maybe if he were ever truly backed into a corner... but those days were long behind him.

There was a reason he had never called on Aetherion, aside from the fact that the creature’s rampage would level entire continents without a second thought.

That left only one real option.

Origin bloodline.

[Choose an origin bloodline at random?]

The tower’s prompt glowed in front of him.

Aaron didn’t hesitate.

[Congratulations! You have received an Origin Bloodline.]

[ORIGIN BLOODLINE – AQUA FATHER]

"Hmm. This tower might be one of the best rewards I’ve ever received," Aaron said, a sharp, satisfied smile spreading across his face.

Fresh power stirred deep inside him, cool and vast like an endless ocean waiting to be unleashed.

He was ready to keep climbing for as long as the tower would let him.

Floor after floor, reward after reward,

he could already picture the strength he would gain.

But the tower had other plans.

Without warning, an invisible force wrapped around him and yanked him straight out of the floor.

The world blurred, and he found himself forcefully expelled back into the lower realm.

"Tch. How unfair," Aaron complained, landing lightly on solid ground with a scowl twisting his lips.

The origin tower had forcefully expelled him, and Aaron could guess the reason without much effort.

He had simply reached the current limit of the tower.

After receiving an Origin-rank reward, it didn’t take a genius, though Aaron was far more than that, to realize the tower could no longer grant him meaningful rewards or allow him to keep climbing.

The suppressed fragment had given everything it could at his current level.

Any further ascent would likely demand the other missing pieces of the spine before it could offer more.

He checked the flow of time outside.

Only a single week had passed while he tore through hundreds of floors.

"Tch. Time is moving way too slow," he muttered, irritation sharpening his voice.

"This won’t do. I need to hasten things up."

He needed more strength, and he needed it fast, so he could finally settle the score with Chen Mo once and for all.

But first, he had to awaken his newest bloodline.

Just like every other time, his consciousness was pulled deep into the heart of his soul.

This time, however, Aaron had prepared ahead.

He had already created a grand throne of nightfire and shadow inside the soul realm, and he settled onto it with calm authority the moment he arrived.

He plunged into a boundless new plane made entirely of water.

Endless oceans stretched in every direction, their surfaces shimmering with countless shades of sapphire, teal, and deep indigo.

Waves crashed with ancient rhythm against invisible shores, filling the air with a cool, salty mist that carried the faint echo of distant tides.

The realm felt alive, vast, fluid, and refreshingly calm.

Aaron sat firmly on his throne, eyes scanning the watery expanse.

"If you two other bloodlines even think about causing trouble," he warned coldly, staring toward a distant corner of the plane where Nightflame and the lingering echoes of his previous origins pulsed with restless hunger, "I will make sure to completely erase you."

He could already feel the Nightflame Father’s aggressive desire stirring, eager to devour the newcomer.

Aaron refused to allow it.

Turning his attention to the waterborne bloodlines now forming around him, he nodded in quiet satisfaction.

Mermen with scales that gleamed like polished sapphires.

Sirens whose voices could soothe or shatter minds.

Creatures of the deep, leviathans, abyssal serpents, ancient krakens and ancient guardians of forgotten oceans.

All of them answered to him now, their forms shimmering with untapped potential.

A faint, confident smile touched his lips.

He was certain he could handle a Nexus-level threat right now if one came knocking.

But Nexus wasn’t his target.

He still had no clear idea what rank Chen Mo truly held, so he needed to be far more aggressive in his growth.

For now, Aaron had no intention of merging the new bloodline with the others.

The Nightflame Father’s destructive hunger was too strong.

He would keep Aqua Father separate and let it flourish on its own.

And perhaps, when he obtained another Origin bloodline that would perfectly complement the Aqua Father and ensure it wouldn’t be bullied or devoured by the Nightflame Father, Aaron would consider merging all three together.

But until then, he had to prevent any merging at all costs.

With the awakening complete, Aaron’s consciousness returned to his body.

He opened his eyes and stared at the glowing system window floating before him, already hungry to explore every detail of his newest Origin Bloodline.
