Chapter 1107: Orc A

The conversation in the private room went well.

Thanks to Xu Feng’s repeated eagerness to emphasize the need to announce the alliance between them urgently, Colossus Fifth couldn’t help but become pleased.

"Sir Luther is truly wise. My subordinates need to learn from you and your decisiveness." Colossus Fifth praised and subtly mentioned Orc A’s disobedience.

"There’s always one or two subordinates who believe themselves to know more than the leader." Xu Feng consoled him softly. "When I made the decision to ally with Lord Colossus Fifth, there was also someone who tried to dissuade me.

"Oh, and what did you do?" Colossus Fifth was curious. He wanted to learn the way of leadership and how to become a proper leader.

After all, ruling a city had never been their expertise. In fact, this was their first time ever conquering a city and succeeding in it.

Upon realizing that Colossus Fifth was seeking advice, Xu Feng knew this was his chance to destroy them internally.

"What did I do, you asked?" Xu Feng snorted coldly. "I naturally dismissed them and made sure they would never be used again. Those who dare to question the leader’s ability are oftentimes harboring insidious thoughts to overthrow the said leader."

"WHAT?" Stunned and stupefied, Colossus Fifth nearly lost his composure in the process.

"You mean they actually harbor thoughts to overthrow their own leader?" He asked in disbelief, his eyes subtly glancing at Orc A occasionally.

"You really don’t know?" Startled, Xu Feng put on a fake surprised look. His eyes darted left and right, almost as if checking if others were going to eavesdrop on his words, before leaning closer to him.

He then whispered softly, "These types of people would often advise the leader the opposite of what they desire. When they failed, they would complain to their fellow companions. As rumors spread, people would start to doubt the leader’s ability. If not controlled appropriately, the rumors could even spread to the leader’s supposed boss or fellow leaders. I don’t need to explain what the outcome would be at that time, right?"

Almost immediately, the fury in Colossus Fifth’s eyes was visible.

After all, what Xu Feng had just said was precisely what Orc A had been doing in the past.

And given that this was their first meeting, Colossus Fifth highly doubted that he was trying to cause a rift between them on purpose.

However, what Colossus Fifth failed to understand was that this kind of action had always been present.

Regardless of the races and eras they were in, advisors were often treading in the death line because they gritted their teeth to speak their minds out and advised their leaders otherwise.

Such an action was essentially going against the leader!

"I have been enlightened, Sir Luther." Colossus Fifth’s tone was filled with gratitude.

Although he didn’t react and made a move against Orc A, the seed of doubt had been successfully planted.

It wouldn’t be long before Colossus Fifth would execute his own advisor, who was holding down the fort.

’This is why one should never conquer cities that they could not control.’ Xu Feng sneered inwardly. His Vanguard Guild could have easily conquered and dominated multiple cities, but without the capability to sustain them. It would only prove to be a burden and a malignant tumor if not expelled quickly.

The Colossuses didn’t even have enough resources for themselves. So, how could they possibly maintain their large armies?

Precisely because of such a shortage in supplies, Xu Feng had a chance to slip right in by offering them the needed resources.

Sometime later, Colossus Fifth instructed another monster to guide Xu Feng to the treasury to choose his two items.

"Once you are done choosing the items in the treasury, you can be reassured that the news about our alliance will spread far and wide." Colossus Fifth promised.

"I thanked Lord Colossus Fifth for his wise judgment." Xu Feng stood up and cupped his fist. "May our alliance be everlasting and the coexistence come to fruition."

"Yes, to our coexistence goal!" Laughing merrily, Colossus Fifth excused himself, completely disregarding Orc A’s presence.

In the past, Orc A was a valuable subordinate of his. But after being enlightened by Xu Feng’s statement, Colossus Fifth would be damned if he continued to use such a disloyal subordinate.

The other monsters also distanced themselves from Orc A, afraid of being implicated and getting on Colossus Fifth’s bad side.

"Please follow me here, Sir Luther." A boar-like human form approached Xu Feng and said in a submissive tone.

"I’ll be in your care," he responded gently and gave him a gemstone.

When Orc A was finally released from the pressure after Colossus Fifth’s exit, he was able to catch the action in time.

’This sly bastard is bad news.’ Orc A finally realized the gemstone he received wasn’t some fortune. Instead, it was a Pandora’s box filled with all sorts of misfortune.

"You should die, villainous human!" Orc A snapped and attempted to harm Xu Feng on the spot.

"Impudence!"

Before Orc A could even get close to Xu Feng, multiple monsters emerged from thin air and quickly apprehended him.

"How dare you try to harm the valuable guest of Lord Colossus Fifth!" One of them snorted coldly.

"As expected of the wise Lord Colossus Fifth. This Orc A is truly rebellious and sought to overthrow the Lord." Another one chimed in.

"It’s a good thing that the Lord gave us a command earlier. A disaster could have occurred if Sir Luther came to harm’s way."

At this moment, Orc A’s eyes widened in disbelief.

’I have fallen into his trap.’ He came to an understanding that Xu Feng had purposely let him see the bribing action again to trigger and provoke him into attacking.

As if that wasn’t enough, Xu Feng even offered him a helping hand by showing a sinister grin and mouthing off the word "thank you" to solidify his mindset that he was indeed a villainous bastard.
