Chapter 1129: Vanguard Guild Vs Miracle Pavilion Part 4
Luther’s face was filled with astonishment.
"H-How?" He uttered a single word. His eyes widened, unable to comprehend when and how they appeared behind him.
His eyes subtly glanced at the battlefield.
It was impossible to cross over from there undetected!
"Guild Leader, he looks so confused!" Carmen giggled devilishly and said.
"Well, his brain might be a bit damaged when he was facing such a dire situation." Xu Feng explained.
Meanwhile, Carmen tilted her head slightly.
"The explanation doesn’t sound right, Guild Leader." She said and rubbed her chin softly. "For one’s brain to be damaged, they needed to have one in the first place. I don’t think Luther over here had any brain when he decided to siege against us."
"Ah, yes, you are right!" Xu Feng realized his mistake and promptly corrected himself.
"His brain isn’t damaged, but completely missing!"
"You’re welcome for the enlightenment. Feel free to pay me the enlightenment fee through coins, Mana Stones, or real-world currency."
"Oh, I’m too poor for that. Why don’t I offer Luther’s drop loot to you instead?"
"Hmm, his loot is trash, but I suppose it’s better than nothing."
As the two continued their back-and-forth script acting, Luther’s face had turned somewhat purplish. It was hard to tell whether he was frustrated or infuriated by the blatant disrespect toward him.
Who didn’t have a brain?
Your mom, father, grandmother, grandfather—hell, your entire family didn’t have a brain!
Already being hammered by those from the headquarters, Luther’s patience was running thin. And now, his emotions imploded completely!
’Keep taunting me! Just wait till the Tier 2 Demon arrives! I want to see who will be laughing by then!’ He held an insidious expression, clearly anticipating the arrival of the demon who would answer his call.
Little did Luther know that there was already movement from Xu Feng’s side. The conversation he had with Carmen was all part of the plan to distract and confuse Luther from determining why they were there.
’It’s time to move to the next phase.’ Xu Feng discreetly gestured with his fingers to inform Carmen that the time was ripe.
’Finally!’ Carmen exclaimed inwardly when she saw the gesture. Without hesitation, she swiftly cast her Tier 2 spells on the formation circle.
The activation of her spell quickly alerted Luther.
"What are you doing?" He snapped out of his crazed state and raised the question.
However, he suddenly laughed when he came to a sudden realization.
"Oh dear, are you trying to cancel the summon?" Luther clenched his stomach from the hilarious attempt.
Did they seriously think people just stood back and watched a mega summoning process happen?
No!
They only stood still because there was nothing they could do to cancel the summoning process!
Kill the caster?
Sure, but the process still won’t be paused!
Interrupt the formation?
Certainly! But do you have the power to do so? The summoning was of Tier 2 power!
"Hahah, you can gather 100 Tier 1 players and you still can’t do crap!" Luther sneered coldly. "Go on, try to stop it! I promise I won’t make a move. If I do, then I’m your grandson."
"Nice grandson you got there," Xu Feng instantly teased her.
"I’m not married!" Carmen rolled her eyes and appeared disgusted. "And even if I were to be married. My grandson would definitely be sly, but not dumb like him."
"Sly? Why have that kind of adjective? Can’t it just be clever?"
"You are not clever, Guild Leader. You are just very cunning."
Before Xu Feng could comprehend the meaning, Luther lashed out.
"Who wants to be your grandson?" He roared furiously and clenched his fist.
"Or maybe you two are chattering nonsense because it’ll be the last time that this ground belongs to your Vanguard Guild!"
"Kindly take a look at your summoning process first." Carmen didn’t think someone like Luther could be so dumb all of a sudden.
Where did his brain cell go?
Or was it really true that he got hammered down so badly from the repeated failures that his brain decided to malfunction?
Meanwhile, Luther knew he was doomed already. Hence, he was willing to spout whatever was necessary to provoke them before dying.
After all, he couldn’t possibly win against the infamous demoness.
He had done his research and investigation, alright!
Carmen was literally a player whom many dreaded and wished to avoid like a plague.
’What kind of scheme is she trying to pull?’ Luther wondered and turned around. He didn’t even bother to put up or use any defense tools because he was now dirt poor.
The Miracle Pavilion wouldn’t reimburse him the funds because of the massive loss they had already sustained due to his incompetence. Or at least that was what they believed.
As Luther glanced at the summoning formation circle briefly, his body suddenly jolted. ’Wait a second! Why is the formation circle weakening? And why is the light dimming and not glowing brightly?’
A series of questions popped up in his mind!
His mouth twitched uncontrollably, and he staggered a few steps. He soon recalled the conversation earlier on how the demoness refused to accept him as a grandson shortly after his solemn promise.
"I-I-It can’t be..." His body trembled, and he turned around to glance at Carmen. "There’s no way the formation could be interrupted from a Tier 1 spell, much less other Ragged Scrolls. The only plausible explanation is if you used a Tier 2 ultimate spell."
Even when he uttered those words, Luther found it hard to believe the demoness had achieved Tier 2.
"Should I tell him?" Seeing his pale expression, Carmen turned to Xu Feng and inquired.
Xu Feng shrugged in response. With the formation summoning circle disturbed and weakened dramatically, it would be a foolish dream to conceal the matter any further.
Don’t think Luther had truly gone insane or stupid!
Everything was merely his exaggerated act and behavior to stall the scene.
But little did Luther know, Xu Feng also wanted to stall the situation as well to further benefit him.
’I bet you wanted to redo the whole process if granted the opportunity.’ By stalling along, Xu Feng effectively prevented Luther from being able to safeguard their properties.
