Chapter 1198: First Day of Shooting Part 1
Shortly after a fierce scolding from Xu Feng, the two were promptly sent to a corner for reflection.
"It’s all your fault," Evelyn rubbed her forehead. She had never been flicked on the forehead before. No, she had never even been hit by anyone before.
It was only Xu Feng who had the courage and the right to hit her. Yes, it sounded wrong when worded that way, but Evelyn truly held such a mindset.
While Evelyn continued to put some cream on to soothe her forehead, Carmen was doing the same thing.
"You are really an outsider." Carmen rolled her eyes and said, "You’d best behave on the set and play your role right. If I found out that you are just here to fool around, then don’t blame me."
"Save that statement for yourself. If my acting was ruined or disoriented because of your terrible directing issues, then I will complain to Brother Feng." Evelyn snickered. She was confident in her acting. There was also no way she would mess things up that would cause trouble to Xu Feng.
"File a complaint? I’m not that low to be sabotaging others. That’s not even how the Vanguard Guild operates."
Evelyn didn’t argue with her on that point. After all, out of every guild that had reached such a position, there were bound to be some hooligans or bullies.
However, the Vanguard Guild had never done such an act ever since Cool Wind’s public punishment that scared every member from behaving so.
Therefore, Evelyn wouldn’t dare to argue with Carmen out of respect for Cool Wind and their guild’s integrity.
Meanwhile, Carmen also discerned her reaction and realized she might have been a bit overboard.
’Looks like this young heiress really isn’t the same as those from the Malefic Order Guild.’ She thought to herself.
Part of her anger stemmed from the past event when the Malefic Order Guild ambushed her in Dawnshire City during the Colossus’ siege.
Although she never actively sought revenge against them, it would be a lie to say she could remain composed when faced with a past enemy in front of her.
She wasn’t skilled enough like Xu Feng yet, who could properly manage and control his emotions.
As the two held a newfound opinion for each other, they promptly apologized.
"I won’t be hostile to you if you don’t pull any dirty tricks." Evelyn cleared her throat and said.
"Neither would I." Carmen agreed.
Neither of them harbored any desire to sabotage the short drama, much less irk Xu Feng. Their action for today was merely a probe to get an understanding of each other.
With the farce over, everything was finally in motion. The lighting, cameras, and even the actors were in place.
Their makeup and clothings was also done by professionals, who made sure they all looked like people from ancient dynasties.
The current background set was located in a mountain, using the natural landscape and no green screen.
"Okay, listen up. In the first scene, we will have Feng jolting awake and realizing he has crossed over to ancient times." Carmen assumed her director role and explained the scene.
"Got it." The film crew quickly got into position.
As for Xu Feng, he felt very weird.
"Do we really need so much makeup?" He asked the makeup person who was doing one final check.
"Brother Feng, this is very light already." The person smiled awkwardly. "It’s hard to believe you have never used foundation or other skin care products before."
As a professional, she could easily tell whether a person was faking it or not.
And without a doubt, he wasn’t faking it. Moreover, there was no reason for him to fake it to show off.
He was the protagonist and the boss.
Was there a need to pull such a trick?
Sometime later, she finished the makeup and gave a thumbs up to the camera crew.
"Okay, everyone in position."
In the blink of an eye, Xu Feng lay down on the ground with his eyes closed.
’Take a deep breath...’ He tried his best to regulate his breathing and emotions. Now that it was finally acting time, his body tensed up, and he became nervous.
For someone with no acting experience and instantly picked as the leading actor, that was a dream come true for many.
However, it definitely wasn’t Xu Feng’s dream.
Too bad for him, though. The crew didn’t care about him, granted that they were all told in advance that Director Carmen would have the full power, according to the Guild Leader.
Naturally, it was an alias sent by Xu Feng himself. It was really tiring to juggle between multiple identities and keep them distinct.
"Okay, scene 1, act 1 start!" A crew using the clapperboard shouted.
Upon hearing the sound of the clapperboard, Xu Feng’s body started to spasm.
"Ungh, what is this?" His body jolted awake abruptly, his eyes somewhat hazy as he glanced around the surroundings.
"What are these clothes? Where am I?" He glanced at his ancient clothes style and appeared visibly confused until another pang of pain hit him. He grasped his head tightly and screamed in agony, his facial expression vividly depicting that of a man suffering from some massive migraine.
On the sideline, Chen Kexin, Li Sheng Xuan, and Ding Xiao Ying appeared to be mesmerized by his acting skills.
"This Brother Feng really knows how to play the pig." Chen Kexin twitched her mouth.
"He was so unwilling but had such talent. I really can’t believe him." Li Sheng Xuan appeared to be somewhat angry for being deceived so badly.
"I just knew my decision was correct." On the contrary, Ding Xiao Ying felt giddy and couldn’t wait to act in the same scene as Xu Feng.
As the three of them became motivated by Xu Feng’s near flawless acting skill in the first scene, they knew they had to put in their best effort.
"Oh, as expected of the man I liked." Far on the side was Evelyn, who became more determined than ever to capture him.
"Your drools are about to reach me." Carmen rolled her eyes and warned. She was starting to feel threatened that Xu Feng might be snatched by these women. He was like Tang Sanzang, attracting all sorts of demons.
