Xu Feng was in a fit of rage when Wei Xing disturbed him for someone insignificant like Tess.

"Tell her to scram." He coldly instructed. "I have no interest in discussing business with them whatsoever."

Suddenly, a voice resounded from the phone.

"Please give me a chance, Xu Feng."

’A female voice?’ Dumbfounded, Xu Feng instantly realized the situation.

This wastrel Wei Xing actually placed the phone on speaker mode.

Was he trying to revolt or what?

Or did he get mesmerized by the other party’s beauty and become charmed?

In either scenario, Xu Feng truly held a glimpse of desire to expel Wei Xing.

Right when he was about to end the phone call, Tess suddenly brought up the news.

"I contacted Veronica and she said I can have a chance."

What confused him was the fact that Veronica actually permitted her to have a chance.

’What’s going on?’ He hurriedly sent a text message to her while telling Wei Xing and Tess to wait, putting them on hold.

Sometime later, Veronica responded to the text message.

Veronica: Ah, yes, that did happen. I got too swamped with the aftermath and forgot to notify you.

Xu Feng: No worries. Do you recall why you permit a chance to them, though?

Veronica: Hmm, where was Tess from again?

Soon, Xu Feng returned the phone call and said, "Meet me at the Oasis Hotel tomorrow morning."

"Great!" Tess’s tone was filled with excitement. "I’ll definitely be there early in the morning."

A few seconds later, Xu Feng ended the phone call.

"You really are harsh." Carmen arrived at the living room in a bathrobe with her hair still wet and commented. She had listened to their phone call, but opted to stay silent.

"Harsh is an understatement." He shrugged. "I gave them a warning in the past. They didn’t care and ignored it."

"Not everyone has the foresight to invest heavily or place their bet on an upstart guild." She smiled and handed him a hair dryer.

"You’re right, but those with foresight are people worthy of my attention." Having said that, he began to help dry her hair.

"Anyway, are you sure you have the time to keep directing?"

"Why do you ask that? You want to shoo me away so you can have more steamy scenes with them? I’m sure you know by now, but many men in the crew are cursing at you daily."

"I don’t care for others’ opinions. My conscience is clear, and I’m only doing what it takes to have the short drama successful."

"Sure, but you can’t deny that the traffic and leaked clips have been trending as of late. Some of them were even posted on the Divine World, with many now hating on Cool Wind for being such a scumbag."

She shook her head and retrieved her phone. There was a contact person identified as A, and she sent them a text.

Carmen: Investigate Tess from the Green Life Corp. I want to know everything about her, whether it’s her private or public life. Dig out everything.

’I wonder what made her want to submit to our guild all of a sudden. It better be sincere, otherwise, don’t blame me for being ruthless.’ Carmen’s eyes narrowed. She had been influenced by Xu Feng and understood that being softhearted would only cause her to suffer.
