Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 1267: Origin Trial 2.0 Part 12

Chapter 1267: Origin Trial 2.0 Part 12

"You now have the clearance level just beneath me, Michael." Anton declared as he pinned an honorary medal on his uniform.

"Thank you, Commander Anton." Xu Feng saluted, his eyes staring at the system prompt.

[System Notification: Battleship Lux has officially exited Planet Zaun’s perimeter! Reminder, a secret enemy remains within the battleship. Please make haste to uncover the secret enemy.]

With two out of the three mission objectives completed, Xu Feng could finally breathe at ease.

With the Commander regaining his body and integrity, the Battleship Lux could finally be said to have its major danger averted.

"For the secret enemy you mentioned, I’ll grant you full authority in this issue to investigate. " Anton said and turned to the control panel. "Too many things have been sabotaged by the parasitic creature. I’ll need to restore the system and fix the communication signal to inform the higher-ups of the danger in Planet Zaun."

Xu Feng received the order and saluted.

"Alright, you can leave now."

Having said that, Anton took a deep breath and resumed his duty.

It was clear that the incident had affected him deeply. But as the Commander, he couldn’t afford to spend too much time on the emotional aspect.

Even if he felt aggrieved, he needed to suck it up and move forward.

After all, the Commander was the heart and soul of the battleship. If even the Commander was down, the other members would also be affected.

Sometime later, Xu Feng’s wanted poster was officially cleared in the live broadcast.

He no longer needed to hide or run like a fugitive.

As he exited the Command Center, he still managed to earn the attention of many onlookers.

"Wasn’t it announced he was a traitor?"

"Shush, what traitor? He’s a meritorious soldier who was promoted to second in command right away."

"Keep your head low!"

The mutterings from many people were easily overheard by Xu Feng.

’Sigh, too high profile isn’t good either.’ He smiled bitterly.

This was the reason why celebrities sucked.

Every action of theirs was highly scrutinized.

There was no such thing as privacy!

Sometime later, Xu Feng returned to Mike’s room and checked on him.

Now that he no longer needed to disguise himself as Trainee Mike, his job could be considered done.

Just when he opened the door in a great mood, a shot was suddenly fired.

"Oh shit!" Startled, Xu Feng forgot that he had set up a trap to prevent anyone from entering Mike’s room.

Alas, it was all too late.

The laser gun was triggered and fired at him. Unfortunately, Xu Feng’s medallion, which he had just received from Anton, was a reflective shield.

As soon as the laser made contact with the reflective shield, it was quickly diverted in trajectory.

And the trajectory of where it went was none other than the sleeping Mike.

"Noooo—"

Xu Feng extended his hand, only to witness Mike being shot to death by the laser gun.

Blood started seeping out from Mike’s body, and there was no more sign of life. Because the Battleship was on high alert previously, Xu Feng couldn’t tell who was an ally or an enemy. Hence, the trap he set was filled with lethality.

"I’m sorry, Mike..." Right when he was about to apologize and wracked with grief similar to Anton, a system prompt suddenly appeared.

[System Notification: Congratulations to Player Lin Feng in uncovering the secret enemy and eliminating the hidden danger in Battleship Lux. All mission objectives have been completed!]

[System Notification: Player Lin Feng has successfully passed the Origin Trial 2.0 and will promptly be teleported away to receive your Tier 2 Advancement!]

Shocked and utterly bewildered, Xu Feng glanced at the system prompt and the deceased Mike.

His mouth was left agape as he didn’t anticipate such a plot twist.

"So Mike was the secret enemy all along?" Xu Feng facepalmed and started laughing loudly.

To think that the person he decided to target to disguise was the secret enemy planted by the parasite’s main body!

Just what were the chances?

"Welp, I take back my apologies." Xu Feng cleared his throat and glanced at the deceased Mike.

"You’ve served your life well! But don’t mind me continuing to use your identity to deceive the parasite’s main body in the next trial. I reckon they still don’t know that I have taken over your identity." He held no sympathy for such a person now that he realized his double identity.

Had he been an honest person, then Xu Feng would truly be filled with guilt.

Thankfully, that didn’t happen, and he got away scot-free from any more guilt.

Just one Aera’s sacrifice was enough.

When Xu Feng was ready to exit the Origin Trial, the door outside suddenly received a knock.

"Who is it?" Xu Feng hurriedly moved Mike’s body to a discreet area while asking.

"It’s me, Aera." A female voice resounded.

"Wait, what?" Dumbfounded, he was about to rush to the door to open it and see what was going on.

Unfortunately, his time limit was over.

[System Notification: Transmission has commenced! Congratulations on passing the Tier Advancement, Player Lin Feng!]

"Oh, hell no!" Xu Feng screamed in anger when this sort of cliffhanger actually returned to him.

He had purposely made many cliffhangers with his short drama to antagonize and tease his viewers.

Yet who could have thought karma actually came back to bite him so fiercely?

He was so close to opening the door to verify whether the female voice really belonged to Aera or not!

Alas, the System was merciless, and he was thrown away to the portal. His hand was only a few meters away from turning the doorknob.

’Ugh, curse you, System!’ He screamed internally as he watched the scene slowly dissipating from his naked eyes.

Too bad he couldn’t keep his eyes open for long when the portal nausea hit him deeply from all the spinning and fractured images.

’I’ll remember this grudge.’ Xu Feng clenched his fist and shut his eyes tightly. He only dared to open them when he no longer felt the motion conducted by the System.
